Will I Be Asked To Take My Hijab Off During Surgery

Why can't you wear panties during an operation if your surgery is a rhinoplasty?

The reason you are asked to remove all clothing and put on only a hospital gown is because there is no such thing as a routine surgical operation. Even during so-called “minor” surgery, a patient might experience alterations in respiratory, cardiac or other monitored conditions. If surgery is done using conscious sedation and local anesthesia, a patient can still have a situation that arises that requires intubation to control the airway and potentially require general anesthesia. Should this happen and/or a situation that results in respiratory and/or cardiac arrest, or a patient must remain under general anesthesia or conscious sedation for more than 4 hours, it becomes necessary to drain the bladder and possibly monitor “fluids in and fluids put out” in order to monitor kidney function and the need for additional fluids or blood. This requires the placement of a urinary catheter which must be placed intraoperatively and any kind of underwear would make this difficult to maintain a sterile field.Of course, this is very rare, but I have seen what should have been the simplest operation, such as a cataract removal result in cardiac-arrest and require major interventions by anesthesia on site.Procedures done without conscious sedation or the placement of an IV and that don’t require continuous intraoperative monitoring may be done in a setting outside the traditional hospital operating room or stand alone operating facility that allows a patient to keep on their underwear under the policies and procedures of that particular facility. In simpler terms, procedures done in a clinical setting using only local anesthesia, such as procedures done in a dental office or dermatology clinic allow the patient to keep all or some of their clothing on.A rhinoplasty may be done using only a local anesthesia, but more often is done with either conscious sedation (some kind of relaxing agent given intravenously) or general anesthesia. One should always question their surgeon on what kind of anesthesia is used. This impacts when you can last eat or drink prior to surgery, how you shower, and what personal belongings you should or should not bring. For example, wearing your glasses into the operating room risks their loss. You should always receive a preoperative instruction sheet and review and ask questions as required.

Surgical mask in hospital instead of Niqab?

Hi, I previously asked a question on here asking if i could wear my niqab while examining patients in the UK. I got alot of comments saying that i wont be able to wear it for safety and communication reasons, which im totally fine with! So i went on youtube and i saw two niqabis in france, they say that when ever they had to take their niqab off they had a surgical mask underneath it because they said that nobody can tell them to take it the mask off! So i thought if i want to work in a hospital I can wear my hijab and just wear a surgical mask, but when i examine patients i can take the mask off. Would i be able to wear the mask instead of niqab in the hospital? because it is also for my health too!

When do Muslim women take off their hijab ?

There's a girl in my school who is Muslim and wears a hijab (We are 17). We attend a large public high school and when she goes to school, she takes off her hijab and when she's getting ready to leave, she puts it back on. There are a lot of Muslims at my school. However, I've only seen three girls taking off their hijab during the day. I thought Muslim women weren't allowed to show their hair in public??

I'm not a Muslim, but I think that hijabs are pretty! I wish that teenage girls would embrace then more!

Underbite correction without wearing braces at all?

Hello,

I am 28 years old and I have underbite Class III. The lower jaw is ok, but the upper jaw is underdeveloped. After consultation with an oral surgeon, he told that my underbite is confined to the teeth and there is almost no skeletal involvement and the malocclusion can potentially be corrected with braces alone. I have consulted my orthodontist and she confirmed she can fix my bite with braces only. The problem is it will take about 2 years from now. After I take off my braces I would need even more time for treatment, because I have a missing tooth(3rd one) which needs implant and one of my frontal tooth is not alive and it is dark colored. Moreover I might need veneers, because some of my teeth does not have the proper size and different colours.

At the moment I am already wearing braces on upper jaw for 10 days, but I do not want to wait 2 years and more to finaly have the smile I am dreaming of the whole my life, and I want an alternative treatment immediately. I am thinking of all teeth replacement of upper jaw and veneers on my lower jaw. This may not be the best option,

Please I am desperately looking for an alternative treatment which does not involve wearing braces. Surgery is an acceptable option. I know it will be expensive, but this won't stop me.

I feel really bad when I am smiling. I feel ashamed and does not feel comfortable. Please help me! I want to fix my smile.

Regards,
Tod
