Will I Be Ready For Basketball

How do I prepare for a basketball game?

Honestly it’s different for everyone. Me personally I get my mind ready for war. The focus is to win. I’ll use trap music to get me in the mindstate and then when I’m on the court I get myself relaxed and comfortable.Leave my ego soon I step on the court.

How can I ensure that my basketball players are ready to perform for big game?

The best coaches prepare the players by giving them insights about what the opposition tends to do in certain situations. Out of bound plays, defensive schemes, offensive schemes,  after-made-free-throws, how do they run their p&r. Then you drill down by player-by-player tendencies...Player.X likes to go right on p&r. Player.Y loves to come out from this side of down screens etc...Same stuff on offense...As a young player, I felt that once I had these sessions with coaches, and I had stored this info in my memory, I could envision plays before they happen. I was mentally and physically prepared. This removes the element of surprise and the pressure.

What drills should I do to get ready for basketball tryouts, and what should I look to do to improve my chances of making the team?

Start running and conditioning. Getting in shape earlier will help offset the aches and pain of the first few days of tryouts and seasons.I would pick up a ball and just start shooting. Start getting familiar with my stroke and figuring out how to shoot to score.Start dribbling. Get a crossover done. Be ready to change direction of both yourself and the ball quickly.I personally didn't do drills before tryouts. I just got myself familiar with using the ball and trying to get in shape.

Hey! Please help me! What is that basketball song called.. U all ready for this? dun na na na na na na na...?

Please give me the artist and the name of the song. No lyrics are needed. All i know is that they say are you all ready for this... then this tune comes in... hope that is enough to work with! Who ever answers first and RIGHT will get the best answer star.

In getting ready to slam-dunk the ball, a basketball player starts from rest and sprints to a speed of 7.3 m/s?

Let's first see if we can find the magnitude of the acceleration. We know he starts from rest, meaning that the acceleration will just be the final speed divided by the time = (7.3 m/s)/(2.5 s) = 2.92 m/s².

Now, the distance travelled by an object undergoing constant acceleration in t seconds, starting from rest is just given by the equation d = 1/2 at². In this case, we have just found the value of a to be 2.92 m/s, so d = 1.46t². Substituting in t = 2.5 gives d = 1.46*2.5² = 9.1 m.

What does post season mean in basketball?

When LeBron James is ready to retire from playing basketball, what NBA team will he more than likely try to purchase?

I can see LeBron trying to purchase the Cavaliers. After all, they are his hometown team, and you can tell he cares about them. Why else would he come back from Miami and bring them a championship? And if there’s anybody that can make the Cavs into a better team, it’s LeBron James.

Should i run cross country before basketball season?

Cross country won't be bad at all, because in basketball you could easily be running 4 miles a game or more. The best XC runners of course will be very light and lanky, but the endurance from the running will help in hoops so you don't get tired, especially late in the game.

BTW, most XC runs in HS if I remember right are 5K or about 3.2 miles. The practice runs could be longer, but I heard Rip Hamilton runs six to eight miles a day except game days so he won't be tired in late game situations.

I play basketball and I am getting ready for highschool tryouts and when I shoot my left arm cross over me right arm how do I keep this from occuring?

Two hands on the ball for security, to keep your options open in a size/post-up, and to keep it well-positioned on your shooting hand. Once you’re into the follow-through part of your shooting motion, the second hand isn’t needed anymore. Your arms crossing over is a sign that you’re squeezing the rock all the way through its release point. You don’t say what grade you’re in, but it may be that some strength training will make it easier to stop relying on both arms to give a little extra push. Building your triceps for shooting a basketball is easy, and you can do it anywhere. Take a dumbbell or anything else you can curl with one hand, lower it behind your head and raise it straight above, repeat 3x10 times. (Not before games, of course, but you can warm up the muscles by doing the same motion with a ball in both hands.)If you can control the ball easily enough, try practicing one-handed shots. There’s no better way to correct common errors with your form, like poor alignment between shoulder/elbow/wrist; and it’ll increase stamina in that arm. Don’t forget to train your off hand as well. You won’t be taking jumpers with it unless you’re fully ambidextrous, but the ability to make a layup with either hand is a must at the high school level and above. If you don’t already know what a Mikan drill is, look it up.
