Will I Be Well Enough For My Soccer Tournament

How do soccer tournaments work?

I've been playing EA Sports FIFA 09 and I've been wondering how exactly do soccer tournaments work? For example I entered a 16 team tournament and so far I'm just playing games and getting 'points' which determine which place I'm in. How many games does a tournament last? I understand how other sports' tournaments work (a bracket) but what about soccer? Thanks.

Soccer Tournament Nerves. Help?

This weekend I will be guesting as goalkeeper for a different team. They are division one and my team is division 4. Not only am I playing for a different team, but they are division one and mean business! There is absolutely no room for mistakes when you are a goalkeeper. One dumb mistake can cost your team the entire game. I am so nervous for the tournament. I am really worried i will screw up or something and will cause this team to lose! I wouldn't be nervous at all if I was playing for MY team but I'm playing for a team that I've never even met before and I am just scared that I will screw up. How can I calm down!!?!??!? Help
Their coach was nice enough to let me guest for them so I couldn't live with myself if I let him down and looked like an idiot

How do I win a 5 vs 5 soccer tournament? Should we dribble more or pass more?

Great QuestionThanks for the A2AI am a bit disappointed due to the lack of details in the question as I love to develop personnel dependent strategies. For a 5 vs 5 the general rule is Sweeper Keeper so you can utilize all your players in the outfield. The ideal strategy can only be understood if all the players' qualities, the size of the pitch, the level of the opposition is known but a general blueprint for attacking football can be laid down. The best formation to follow will be a 1-3-1 the best player in the team should be the central player in the 3 man midfield The picture shows you how to set this team up the 1 in the green in is the sweeper keeper. When attacking the keeper should wait near the halfway line to sweep up any long passes. The two other midfielders should tuck in .i.e in the inside channels and make interchanging runs to provide different outlets for passes. The forward and central midfielder should interchange positions to minimize man-marking.  It is advisable to keep switching the keeper if the players are all of similar skill level as it will allow the players time to rest or even try out a different strategy by going long to the tall man in the box. When defending the formation should change to a 1-2-1-1 with the 2 playing inside channels or one of them getting wide. These two players should be the fastest runners among the team and should look to break forward along the wing and hold up the ball till the team comes into attack. If the ball is won centrally unless there is a clear path to goal pass it to the wingers to get into attack as running centrally with the ball can lead to losing possession. For counter attacks the number of players who press forward other than the man with the ball should be equal to the opposition players in front of the ball. The idea is to outnumber the opposition by one and still keep cover for their counter.  5-a-side.com

Tired after soccer game?

So I have couple suggestions and sort of agree with one of the previous answers. It is true that ice cold water is not always the best since the temperature makes it difficult for the body to absorb. But its also difficult to control the temperature of the water when you're outside on one of those hot tournament days for hours, everyone usually just ends up throwing a bunch of ice into their jugs and hopes it doesn't boil so I wouldn't worry too much about that, just keep drinking.

The things that I can think of that could be making him sleepy tired are heat exhaustion, dehydration, low blood sugar or not getting enough sleep the night before. Muscle fatigue is a different animal and has other factors like lactic acid build up and glucose conversion rates.

I would guess that since you're having him drink plenty of water that he isn't too dehydrated and assuming he is getting enough sleep the night before I would suggest eating energy and nutrient rich, high carb foods with a balance of protein and fat. For example, bananas are great because they provide a lot of simple, unprocessed sugar to replace glucose levels as well as potassium to relieve some lactic acid and help absorption. I remember we used to carry around jars of peanut butter in our soccer bags and just scoop that stuff out with our fingers and that gave us lots of energy. A bowl of fruit/granola/yogurt is also pretty amazing for recovery. Oranges are pretty standard, the extra vitamin C speeds protein absorbsion. I would recommend anything high in simple but unprocessed carbs with a little bit of protein for abortion but stay away from processed sugars because those can cause a spike in his glycemic index that will just cause him to crash later. For example, and i don't recommend this, but I knew one guy who carried around one of those plastic cans of cake icing.

Also, it is important to eat or drink the recovery meal immediately following the activity to give muscles a better chance to repair.

Stay away from energy drinks, there is a big difference between energy drinks and sports drinks. I know Gatorade for example has done extensive research so that they can mix in the right ratio of sugar that the body can optimally use without causing a crazy spike in Glucose. I think now they even have a pre game drink, during the game drink and post game recovery drink.

Where is the ecc cup in fifa 12 pc in the tournaments or carrer mode?

by ECC cup, I think you are talking about the Champion's League.
The only way to play it is to go to CAREER MODE
If the team you play with is qualified for the cup then you will play it in your first season, if they are not you will have to play 1 season and do good enough to qualify for it, then you will play it in your second season.

What can i do to prepare for my tournament in 2 weeks ?

To prepare for your soccer tournament in 2 weeks, you'll need to combine various training elements so that when you play you'll be sharp and at the top of your game:
-You'll need to do some long running to boost your endurance: long slow running, fartlek (a type of training that involves running at different speeds)*
--This type of running will increase your stamina and endurance so that you can run more in a match.
*Explanation of fartlek

http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/fartlek-training.html -Example 4

-You'll also need to do sprints so that you can be fast, and also so that you'll be training your anaerobic system. Another type of sprint you can do is called a shuttle (or a wind sprint), and I highly recommend these as they will teach you to change direction quickly as well as sprint faster.
--Make sure to focus more on this type of training than on long, slow running, as sprinting is more important to a soccer player and this will also build up your endurance.
---Example of a sprint session: 5 x 100 Meter, 4 x 80, 3 x 60, 2 x 40, 3 x 20, 4 x 15, and 5 x 10. Make sure to sprint and then jog back to the starting point to recover, as this will train your endurance, also.
-Strength training is also very important to a soccer player. However, you should not lift weights until you are 14 or older, so here are some exercises you can do without weights (body weights only):
-Squat Jumps
-Push-ups
-Sit-ups
-Leg raises
-Tuck jumps
-Planks
-Also, if you really want to increase your conditioning and speed, I recommend doing stair sprints and jumping rope. To do stair sprints, just find a set of stairs and sprint up them, jogging back down to recover, and then repeat. Make sure to run up the stairs at least two at a time, because this will teach you to sprint faster and it will also strengthen your muscles.

-Finally, make sure to stretch A LOT, and to drink lots of water. And NEVER FORGET THE BALL. Make sure to practice everyday and to work on your skills.

How many football tournaments do Barcelona and Real Madrid play in every year?

Due to their positions in La Liga every season, they are eligible to take part in 3 competitions:La Liga (by default, because they’re not relegated to the second division).Copa del Rey (that’s the only domestic Cup competition they can take part in).UEFA Champions League (because they’ve been finishing at least in the Top 3 of La Liga every season regularly, so they automatically qualify). Each of them stands a chance to win 6 titles though every calendar year, if they do well enough in the 3 competitions mentioned above.Spanish Super Cup: The winner of La Liga plays in the Spanish Super Cup (facing the winner of the Copa del Rey). Obviously, if you win the Copa del Rey, you automatically play in the Spanish Super Cup.UEFA Super Cup: The winner of the UEFA Champions League plays in the UEFA Super Cup (against the winner of the UEFA Europa League).FIFA Club World Cup: The winner of the UEFA Champions League also plays in the FIFA Club World Cup (against continental club champions from other confederations). In 2009, FC Barcelona won all 6 titles: FC Barcelona team records | FC BarcelonaUPDATE: If you’re also looking for summer competitions, then lately they’ve been taking part in the International Champions Cup as well. Interestingly, this year, they’ll be facing each other in July: El Clasico Miami

Can I wear earrings during a kids soccer game?

USSF (and AYSO) directs all referees that earrings are, by definition, dangerous and must be removed. NFHS (high school) says the same thing.

So you may ask your coach, but be prepared to have a decision to make once the referee says "no." You choice will be to remove them (no matter how new the piercing) or do not play. Taping them will not be good enough.

"My coach gave me permission" is not going to be good enough, nor is "but the last referee let me tape it." The last referee was remiss in his duty and needs to be reported if he allowed it.

If your country goes out of the (Soccer) 2018 World Cup, do you have a second favourite?

As an England fan I would normally like either Irish team or Wales to do well but they are not in it. Belgium are in England’s group but if they are still in when England go out I would like to see them win.
