Will I Fail An Etg Test If I Made Out With A Girl Who Had Been Drinking

Can you fail an ETG test without drinking?

I got a DUI about 10 years ago. Part of my sentence was going to AA 3 times a week for a year. You hear a lot of stories in that time, this is one such story.One of the regulars was a floor nurse at a local hospital. She had her share of stories and had multiple DUI convictions. During one of her stints on probation she had actually been abiding by the no alcohol mandate but during a surprise test they found ETG and revoked her probation.It turns out that the hand sanitizer used profusely by the medical staff from dispensers all over the floor, was, as one might expect, alcohol based. There was enough to trigger a positive result on the test because of the amount she actually used it (10s of times per day).So, Yes, you can fail without drinking.

Will Drinking non-alcoholic beer cause me to fail and etg urine test ?

I am on probation and can't drink real beer for the next 4 months , and an etg test is a super sensitive test, just wondering if the small amount of alcohol in the na beer will trigger a positive test.

If I have been drinking and I kiss my boyfriend, what will happen if he gets breath tested?

My boyfriend and I often choose to drive to and from parties or when we go out. I will have a couple of drinks (usually no more than two over the course of a night) but he won't due to the fact he's driving us home. Being on his P-plates (Australia), he can't have any alcohol in his system whatsoever.

If I had been drinking and I kissed him, what would happen if he was breath tested? I'm assuming it would blow a slight reading, but obviously it wouldn't be in his bloodstream (because he hadn't actually ingested any alcohol), so what would happen?

If you have 1 sip of alcohol would you fail a ETG alcohol test?

Your friend is taking a chance. Whether he will fail or not is questionable.

They have the test level set so high because so many every day products give off false readings, and that might be his best hope for a pass.

Have him stay away from any alcohol based cleaners like hand sanitizers, etc., and if it still comes back positive; have him deny, deny, deny any involvement with drinking alcohol.

These tests are really crap and unreliable so the more he deny's the greater the chance they will let him slide as a false reading.

Also since these metabolites are not fat soluble like THC; the more he flushes his system the lower the level of metabolites will remain in his system. The EtG test can detect alcohol metabolites up to 80 hours from last drink; but that is the extreme maximum and would be unlikely for someone young with a fast metabolism. 24-48 hours is about average detection time.

Below explains test further. Your friend sounds like a helluva risk taker. Good luck, hope the dice roll in his favor.

An EtG test detects metabolites your body produces when it metabolizes alcohol.

To get more specific, the two metabolites that the test is looking for is: Ethyl Glucuronide and Ethyl Sulfate

Most EtG tests are at the 100 ng/ml level. Above that level you fail; below it you pass.

EtG tests can be done through urine, saliva or hair tests.

It can be detected in urine up to 80 hours from last alcoholic drink;

Saliva up to 80 hours;

Hair up to 90 days.

It can be done along with a standard drug test. They just add that test to the standard 5 panel drug test for an additional fee.

Probation departments, schools, and some employers are using this test now.

They reportedly are very inaccurate; giving off false readings all the time. In one study, nurses who were using alcohol wipes to clean their hands frequently, caused them to fail the test.

Can I fail my drug and alcohol (EtGly) test if I kiss someone who has been drinking?

You're safe.

For how long can alcohol be detected in a urine EtG test?

I am going to answer anonymously for this question for obvious reasons. On probation for DWI I am subject to unscheduled ETG testing during my monthly visits to probation.Because of this I have read more than most about the actual effectiveness of this test I can share with you what I learned and what my experience has been. When you read the scientific studies regarding the accuracy of the test, what you find is that test becomes extremely ineffective after 36 hours of drinking. Say for maybe the most severe drinkers.My rule of thumb strictly for my own sanity is to not drink after midnight on Thursday if I have probation on Monday. Thursday midnight to Friday midnight = 24hrs, to Saturday midnight = 48 hrs, to Sunday midnight = 72 hrs, to Monday at 8 am = 80 hrs. Now I do this for my own piece of mind but I am sure I would be fine drinking on Friday and even Saturday. It just isn’t worth it to me.One time I drank a TON of beer on a Saturday night and didn’t finish until about 2 am on Sunday. I regretted this decision on Sunday knowing I had probation on Monday and potentially may have to take the ETG urinalysis. I drank tons of water on Sunday and throughout the night into Monday morning. Then a ton of coffee and waited til as late I could in the day to go to the probation office. Sure enough, I had a test. I passed it though. The sweating it out for those two days and the following week waiting for a phone call saying I needed to report back to my PO was excruciating.I hope this helps with your question.

How Long Does Alcohol Stay in Your Urine????The ETG test for alcohol is expensive?

They will do an EtG test and it is capable of detecting if you drank alcohol up to 80 hours from your last alcoholic drink.

But that 80 hours is the maximum time if they are using a urine sample. Much depends on genetics, how much you drank and luck. These tests aren't that reliable; and they usually set the level high to help prevent a false reading. (There was one study done where nurses were testing positive even though they didn't drink alcohol in the past 80 hours. It was later determined the alcohol gels they were using to clean their hands caused the false/positives.)

Chances are; if you are on probation and underage or if part of your probation requirements state no alcohol, then they likely will perform this test on your urine sample in addition to the drug test. So it's probably best to stay away from alcohol until probation has ended.

Below is a cut and paste answer I wrote that explains it further.

There is a test for alcohol that some employers include as an additional part of the drug test. Below explains it further.

Can mouthwash with alcohol in it make you fail an EtG test?

Mr. Gemma's answer is 100% accurate, but I Will expand on it merely in regard to the mouthwash aspect of your question. Yes, the alcohol in mouthwash has the same alcohol present in adult beverages, so in theory, if you drank it, you would fail the test. Any test of a biologic is going to depend on several factors: amount consumed + frequency/time + specific metabolism. So, unless you regularly drink a lot of mouthwash(instead of spitting it out) or drink a glass of it the night before the test, you should be underneath the threshold of the test to be considered positive. There is a certain level of alcohol already in the human body, so those metabolites aren't tested as a yes or no answer, but on a scale of acceptability. So, yes if you drink enough mouthwash you will certainly fail, but if you're drinking mouthwash like that, you probably should seek help anyway.
