Will I Gain Weight If I .

Will I gain weight if I stop being Vegan?

I've been vegetarian for three months and vegan for one. I'm a serious xc runner and I feel like I am ruining myself with this kind of diet, not to mention the foods I eat aren't very nutritional. I live off of grapes and freaking bagels. I don't drink/eat dairy at all, so in essence I eat bagels, fruits/veg, oat meal and pasta. I'm 98 pounds now, would I gain weight if I were to start eating lean meats again? (Turkey, chicken breasts, egg whites)

If i eat a WHOLE cake will i gain weight?

1 cake in 1 day, NO. If you did this every day, yes.

3500 calories is a pound. Unless you have a positive calorie intake of that much over time you will gain no weight.

It is also impossible to calculate how much weight you will gain from this cake alone because it depends on what else you will eat that day. If that was the only thing you ate it's possible your BMR would burn it all up plus some. It's all about calories.

Even if you did gain weight, it's not going to be noticeable that you ate a whole cake by looking at you. Weight gain takes time. The only thing that might be obvious is that your stomach is full of food making it seem like your stomach sticks out, once it's digested it will go away. Try to relax a little.

If I go from eating 500 calories to eating 1200 will I gain weight?

I want to be as compassionate as possible in this answer, because I’m aware that a person interested in the question as stated may have a problem with their relationship with food and body image. At 1200 calories, you will starve to death more slowly than at 500. A tiny adult female would squeak by at 1500–1700 Cal, with little to spare for walking around. A moderately sized (5′4 and 150lb) female with a typical, relatively sedentary lifestyle would maintain at about 2200 - 2400. If that seems like a huge number, please consider talking to a doctor about your feelings and lifestyle.

Will I gain weight eating 1300 calories a day?? ?

I am currently recovering from ED and am in treatment with a nutritionist. I was eating between 400 and 800 calories a day before and am now eating between 1000 and 1300. At my lowest I weighed 104 pounds. I haven't been able to weigh myself since I've started treatment, bu I feel, and believe I look like, I've gained weight. My nutritionist is kind of beating around the bush when I ask how much I weigh or how many calories I should be dating and just wants me to eat more, more often. My obsessive side really likes knowing how many calories I am and should be, that's why I still keep such close track. I'd just like to know if it's feasible that I'm gaining weight, or if it's just my ED.

Will I gain weight if I eat 2000 calories in 1 day????!!!!!!?

No, you will not gain any weight, 2,000 calories isn't that much. One pound is gained by consuming 3,500 calories. Give up the 1,300 calorie diet, that's very, very low, you need more calories if you plan on living healthily. Eat a minimum of 1,600 calories.

If you want to lose weight, you simply need a low-calorie (not 1,300, that is too low) diet and regular exercise. Do some regular cardio everyday, combined with a healthy diet and you'll be fine. Drinknig lots of water will help a lot.

Also, when you eat more than you wanted to don't freak out, it's not a big deal, just make healthier choices next time. Girls today go to dangerously extreme limits to lose weight.

Best of luck!

How much weight will I gain eating 500 extra calories?

The direct (and text book) answer is that if you eat 500 extra calories in a day, that days caloric excess will result in a weight gain of 2.3 ounces. 1 lb. of fat will be lost or gained depending on whether 3,500 calories are consumed in excess, or, restricted from caloric homeostasis. Resting Metabolic Rate is the numerical value used to determine caloric homeostasis. By this calculus, if you eat an excess of 500 calories everyday for 7 consecutive days you should gain a pound of fat in a week. Let me assure you that it isn’t always that simple depending on a multitude of potential metabolic factors. A practical thought; take into consideration the composition of the weight gained. It could be all fat or a combination of fat and muscle depending on activity levels and whether a strength training regimen is simultaneously utilized.
