Child support when father is in school full-time?
My wife's child's father is currently in the military and paying child support. He is due to get out in three months as he will not be re-enlisting. He tells her he intends to attend school full-time and will only be working at a part-time job. My question is will the court's lower his child support since he is being discharged (honorably) from the military in 3 months and will be seeking employment? In addition if he does only get a part-time job so he can go to school full-time will the courts do anything to make him drop out or pay a higher amount?

Hi everyone. Im a dad living in North Carolina and I have been paying $569.00 for four years. When I found out my ex girlfriend was pregnant, she got mad at me and never allowed me to go to the OBGYN appointments and never told me she even birthed my kid. She had even threatened me that she was going to abort him twice. Well, low-and-behold, she had the baby and I of course ended up paying child suuport. the court order states I should pay 58% of my pay wich at the time I was making $1,400 a month. I dont see how this is fair at all. She never lets me see him, hec, I have never seen the kid, yet I go to work bust my *** for the little chump change I do get and then turn around and have to hand it all to her..how is this suppose to make me feel?? I married a wonderful woman in 2009, and we have been struggling alot. She has tried and tried to get a job, but no luck. Im now only makin $1,200.00 a month and I still pay my child support on time all the time. Since were broke, we have to live with my parents and I have zero money because I have just enought to pay my car payment ($244) and car insurance ($50) and gas ($100 a month)..we have no money for food, a house of our own, NOTHING. And now I think my wife is expecting and Im happy. I have a few questions for any dads that are in NC that pay child support. 1.) how do I get my support lowered? 2.) does a new baby help determine the cupport bieng lowered? 3.)is there any GOOD lawyers that will assist me? that are no so expensive? Child Support/School Supplies???
I am no longer with the father of my 2 daughters. He has been paying child support, but not much...not even enough to cover their food needs, clothing, etc. I was wondering, now my youngest daughter is gonna start going to school. A private school. And I would like for him to help out by getting her school supplies. He is in another state and I have looked in my area and there is nothing of the type she likes. which is Disney princess. He does not call or anything, last time he saw my kids was in February 2007. We got into this big argument about the child support cause he wanted me to drop the case, which i didnt because he is not so dependable on paying on his own and i was waiting for them to finally track him down for about 6 months. So now he does make payments, not cause he wants to but because its an automatic deduction from his check. And i was wondering, is the child support payments he gives me the one that is suppose to be covering all her school needs?

But that is also the case with numerous other issues.Anyway,My deadbeat mother decided that she was entitled to use her children as a permanent meal-ticket.She exercised her legitimate right to leave my father. “Leave” meaning about a thousand kilometres, for years.Then, she used the threat of court action to extort my father for most of his income. He had a lower standard of living than she did. Despite the fact that he worked, and she didn’t.Daddy had to get up and work all day, every day, at a demanding job.Mommy sat on the couch all day, every day, watching television.She bled him dry, every month.The “children” (teenagers) were past the age of legal and practical ability to be left alone. These weren’t some kind of toddlers in need of supervision.Mommy developed the delusion that she could force her “children” to continue living with her, after the age of 18.Mommy believed that she could force her “children” to remain financially dependent. She believed that none of us would ever get jobs or our own apartments.Mommy believed that her “children” would remain “children” and that Daddy would just keep paying and paying and paying. So that she could continue using her “children” as a meal-ticket, and avoid employment.Mommy believed that the child support free ride would just continue for the rest of her life.Mommy anticipated that, when her “children” were 30 or 40 years old, we would still live with her, totally dependant, and she would continue extorting child support from Daddy.Mommy also engaged in Malingering By Proxy, and hoped to collect disability welfare for her three little retards (me and my siblings). Her 18th birthday present to my sister was a welfare application.I was designated as “The Bad Kid” for daring to get a job, and my own apartment. Because it meant that Deadbeat Mommy couldn’t demand “child” support payments, or welfare payments, based on me.Then, one day, the youngest “child” turned 18 years old.Mommy got a little surprise.Daddy slammed the brakes on the gravy train, and brought the free ride to a screeching halt.Deadbeat Parasite Mommy got introduced to reality.ETA: People keep posting comments asking what happened next.What happened was that, she had to finally get a job, and face the world as an adult. She was apparently a toxic workplace bully.
Does cutting financial support to your children when they turn 18 actually instill a sense of Independence?
Maybe, depends on the kind of environment they grew up, what their prospects are whereas jobs and their ability to buy a home is concerned.What i can say is that they will be severly limited as to getting a better education and job after they are done with presumably an education in a craftsman vocation seeing as they would have to take a loan to sustain buying a home and can’t afford to go back to school to either reeducate themselves or get a higher degree for more skilled labour.Being independent is not a thing that happens overnight and must be learnt over many years by good habits and a favorable temper. Seeing as many kids are not like that you could risk alienating your kids and having them resent you for sending them out in the world when they were not equipped to handle themselves.So i would recommend to talk to your kids and cut back financial support somewhat but still help them accomplish things they can benefit from while not coddling them.
What is the legal age a child can quit attending school in Illinois?
My 16 year old daughter is bi-polar and is refusing to go to school. I am attempting to get her into a therapeutic day school, but I know she won't go. She doesn't want anything to do with school. What can I do as a parent to make her understand she must go and that's all there is too it? I have taken away privelidges, cell phone, computer, etc. Nothing seems to work.

just dont make anymore extra money. how old is your child? if you show proof of low income they will reduce that child support. the child support system is sooo dame unfair to men. men get raises to support themselves and there new wives and new children not to give to the ex-wives. why do the ex-wives sit on their lazy, selfish, tiffling *** and expect their ex-husband's and baby dady's to just give all of their income to them? (not their children). if they are not getting enough in child support then they should get a second job or do whatever to make up for what they are not getting from child support. when that child turns 18 then all of a sudden they can take care of that child (if still living with them) without the child support. i think personally that ex-wives do this to get even with their ex's and the new mates. they figure if they can cripple their ex's by making them broke their wives will leave them. my husband pays child support for his 15 year old daughter and she calls us every friday saying that her mother is using the money on other things and her mother dosent give her not one dime of that money. she call us every friday demanding extra money from her father. her mother works two jobs and she gets child support too. after all of these years my husband is finally tired of his daughter and ex-wife using him and now he makes his ex-wife give their daughter her child support money every friday. the way my husband does that is he stop giving his daughter extra money every friday and now the ex-wife is forced to give it to their daughter. he will give his duaghter money only if it concerns school and other important needs, but it never does. my advice to you is dont make too much money. my husband has avoided raise on his job to not pay his ex-wife extra money. when his daughter turns 18 then he will get a raise. in some case you have to bet the ex-wives at their own game.
