Will I Get Rejected From Western University

What do you think about Western Illinois University?

Western Illinois University is a well respected state university. I would agree with part of the other comments, but I certainly would not say that WIU "accepts pretty much everyone". While it's not as highly rated as say Illinois State University or perhaps University of IL. , it is certainly no slouch academically either. It is also a great value when compared to most universities.
Visit the campus, take a tour, and sit down to talk to an adviser at WIU to see what you think. You may want to visit both the Macomb,IL. campus and the Moline,IL. campus for comparisons.

Added-To clarify, I checked the Cappex link mentioned by another post and found that WIU accepted 66% of applicants That can be a misleading number that may be affected by popularity and/or location, but at least it's one measure of a school. That's not as exclusive as an ivy league school, but it's certainly respectable, and far better than some of the online or for-profit schools. Even if you did not use that as a guide, the bottom line is that WIU is a good school.

Do you find it a bit strange that many degree from western University is not recognize in Malaysia?

This is strange. This happen to UK degree as well. Some of my friend from Civil Engineering field also suffer the same thing. If u graduate from that University U have to study up to master degree in order the degree you received is recognize by the IEM or BEM. Before any one attending any western university, I would recommend you to go to education department to check the University and the degree is recognize. Make sure you check both.

University of Miami Rejection Help?

My UM website says I got rejected early action

I have a 1290 SAT (math and reading)
3.8 Unweighted and 4.5 Weighted GPA
I have taken 6 APS
I am a figure skater and involved with latin honors society and i have done numerous community service things.
I'm honestly kind of confused, I fit their stats so i'm kind of shocked that they outright rejected me without even deferring to regular decision.

Am I wrong to be a little shocked, or was I a reach candidate to begin with?

Can I challenge the rejection, if so how do I go about doing that?

How hard is it to get into Western Carolina University?

I'm supposed to find out if I got accepted or rejected by December 15. I heard some people got their acceptance letters already and I haven't. I don't know if it's because they received my transcript on the 2nd or because I got rejected.

I have a 3.38 GPA with AP/Honors classes and an SAT score of 1580 and ACT score of 22. I've done some extracurricular activities and such, the most impressive ones are being Treasurer of a club, winning an award in a sport I played, and some academic honor I got.

So would I have a good chance of getting in? Have I not heard back from them yet cause I got rejected? And would they send me a letter or email telling me if I got accepted or rejected?

Thanks!

Will Western University process my application without documents for "Permanent Resident Status"?

I got my study permit months after accepting their offer. Your application should be good. I applied first, accepted offer in April and applied and got my Visa in August. I left for Western at end of August. Your application shouldn't be incomplete because of study permit.

Is Western Washington University a good school (pre-med)?

I'm currently a junior in high school, and I know I really want to go to the University of Washington but it has gotten very competitive to get in there. I know everybody that gets rejected to UW usually goes to Western as their backup. I want to major in Pre-Med and UW is a great school for their research and sciences. But if I do end up getting rejected, my second choice would be Western, but I am not sure if it is as good of a school as UW. And I'm worried that medical schools will look at where you went for undergrad. If I went to UW, I would not worry at all, but since it's Western...I'm not sure. In US News, they ranked UW in tier 1, but Western was in tier 4! which isn't very great...

What are my chances of getting into Western Washington Uni?

I don't know about your chances of getting into Western Washington University. I'm just posting because I couldn't believe what one of the other posters (RP R) wrote about the death of a sibling not being all that difficult. This person is apparently an only child, or from a family that isn't all that close. I can't imagine losing my sister, and my heart goes out to you. I think that most people would understand that grades might slip a little after a death in the immediate family. You might consider spending an extra semester or two at the community college, to try to raise your GPA (if your application is rejected). Also, that will show that you ARE in fact capable of doing well in college level work, and that the grade dip was temporary. Many people will be inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt, although obviously not everyone. Good luck!
