Why do I gain weight after eating?

Depending on the food you eat there are a few things that could happen to cause immediate scale weight gain:Carbs: Any time you have a meal with a substantial amount of carbs, your muscles fill up with glycogen causing you to gain a little bit of scale weight. This doesn’t mean you have an increase in body fat. But this will cause the scale to go up.On the flip side of that, when someone starts a low carb diet, the glycogen in their muscles will be depleted, causing them to lose weight.Sodium: When you eat foods that contain a substantial amount of sodium (salty foods), this causes you to retain water. With this extra retention of water, the scale will go up. This doesn’t mean an increase in body fat though. Just a momentary increase in scale weight.Food and water have weight: While food is digested and you have additional water in your body, the weight of those items is added to your weight. Again, that doesn’t mean you gained body fat.When you wake up the next morning, your scale weight is a better determinant of your weight because there are not many as many outside factors that could impact the scale weight.Hope that helps!-Patrick

Will i gain weight or lose weight at basic training?

You'll probably gain a few pounds. The food is good and filling, and Infantry OSUT will add muscle in places you didn't know you had places.

I have the same build as you. Went in at 6', 129lbs. After 13 weeks, it was 6', 154lbs.

Binge question ... will i gain weight from doing this?

Well for your height, I think that there aren't many more pounds that you should be losing to maintain a proper height/weight proportion. Especially since you're 17 and your body isn't quite done changing itself around, hormone-wise.

But to get back to your question, I think that if you ate well consistantly and then enjoyed one thing per day that would be best. Binging one day will eventually cause you to want to do it more often. And eating a ton of calories and then furiously getting rid of them won't be good for your body over time.

Can you gain weight by working out?

Depends on what your workout regime is based upon.If you are eating less calories and burning out more with your workout, then you'll lose weight .If it's the other way round, you'll be gaining wait only when your workouts include putting your muscles under stress(weight oriented) and not just cardiac functioning (like jump rope , running.)Even if you're burning less calories than what you're eating, putting the body through only cardio exercise will result in using up of the surplus calories to repair and restore damaged tissues.

Will I gain weight with 1 slice of pizza for dinner?

I'm sure you could only gain about 0.006 lb.s, and you'd get enough exercise walking away from the table to lose five times that much. Don't fret about this stuff, yo. You are really cool, and shouldn't have to worry about this stuff. It's okay. relax. What fun is spending your life worrying about your weight? Whether it's thinking you're too short, fat, or something else, we're all a little self-conscious in one way or another. Stop caring about what others think about you, because you sound really awesome-liscious already to me!

Can you get shorter by gaining weight?

I recommend buying gym equipment with weight resistance.
I use a bench press, but for you.... you should buy that big inflated ball grab some weights cross your arms and do sit ups on the ball.

If I overate just today, will I gain weight?

OK OK, you fell off the wagon, that doesn't mean you have to stay down. Get back up there. You are human like everybody else. Your allowed to make mistakes. Just watch it from now on. If you don't give yourself a little treat now and then you'll be miserable. And probably just give up. Life is not good when you are miserable is it? I think you should give yourself 1 day a week to splurge on whatever you want to eat. That should give you incentive to be good the rest of the week!

Is it possible to gain weight by doing only calisthenics? How should I work?

It doesn’t matter what you do, but HOW you do it.If you want to gain weight with calisthenics there are 2 MAIN concepts to follow:Caloric surplus - If you want to gain weight you MUST be in caloric surplus, whatever you do. You can do cardio for 1 hour every single day and still gain weight, if you are in a caloric surplus. That is the number 1 thing to consider! Eat more, but eat healthy.Training for muscle hypertrophy - If you want to make gains and put on some muscle mass, your training need to focus on muscle building. It doesn’t matter if you lift weights or your body, just be sure that you use hypertrophy factors in your training. The most important muscle building factors are:Progressive overload - increase difficulty every week. You don’t need weight for this, just increase total volume, do harder exercise variation, do more exercises, do same workout for less time and so on.Total volume - number of total sets and reps done in one workout (best repetition range for muscle building is from 8–12). Can I gain weight from sitting down/ laying down all day?

I would start taking the protein shakes before you work out or exercise. Protein shakes can actually add some good weight if they are not burned off. Try taking them before. also, remember, many protein shakes are supposed to relieve hunger and some are meal replacement. If you are taking 2 a day, thats almost 2 meals right there.
Also, believe it or not, you do burn calories just sitting down, and if you are exercising that much, the physical activity portion should be fine. However, you could try other things to do in your spare time to get away from the TV-overweight theories. Try reading, yoga, working around the house, or community activities. You will not only notice a difference but you will feel it too.
TV can just make you feel lazy, drowsy, etc. Doing various activities throughout your week will be much more exciting and will help you burn more calories when you don't even notice it.

Do we gain weight by drinking some hot milk and adding honey?

Milk (either hot or cold) and honey have calories. If your total calories you eat fall above the calories your body burn in a day. Then you'll gain weight.You can include milk with honey if the total calories you eat fall below the calories your body expend in a day, and still not gain weight.
