Will I Have To File My 2013 Taxes Over Again

I work only for 5 months can I still file my taxes?

Make sure that your employer does have your correct mailing address address before the end of the 2013 tax year so that they will be able to send you your W-2 by the end of January 2014 during the 2014 tax filing season for the 2013 1040 FIT return.
W-2 Box 1 $$$ gross wages for the 2013 tax year and the Box 2 FIT $$ amount that might have been withheld as advance estimated tax payments to be used as a TAX CREDIT during the 2014 tax year and a possible REFUND amount when that amount is MORE than your FIT might be at that time during the 2014 tax filing season.
Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 10/19/2013

Can minors file for a tax refund?

Im a minor and Ive been working for almost a whole year so I was just wondering when tax season rolls around again, can I file for taxes?. Does my parents still have to claim me, will they file me, or does the fact that I have a job doesn't matter because I'm just a minor? And estimated about how much will I get?

Will my TurboTax *.tax2013 file work with TurboTax 2014 (when I get it) on my new computer?

Since doing my 2013 taxes using TurboTax 2013, I have gotten a new desktop Windows 7 computer. I no longer have my older computer which used Windows XP. Before getting rid of it, I copied the Turbotax files, including the .tax2013 file (hopefully) to my new computer, however, the 2013 version of the Turbotax computer program was not installed on my new computer. Will Turbotax 2014 be able to find and use this file as usual or is there something I need to do first to get it to work, AND, does it matter what the folder name is that I put it in?

Again, does it matter what the folder name is that I put in in? If so, what should it be? Thx

TAX REFUND: Anyone who filed their taxes Jan 30, 2013 get a DD date yet?!?

I filed on 1/30/13 and i'm still in the "return received" category as well. My refund is in the $7000 range and I recently had a baby, which was added to this years return. Perhaps this is holding it up? Everything else on my return is pretty much the same as last year.

Could I file income tax return after 4 years?

Unfortunately, you can only pay your income tax return for two previous financial years in India. For instance, you want to file your taxes for the period of April 2016 till 31st March 2016 you can only file income tax returns for the financial year 2014-2015 and 2015-2016. The due tax can be paid through Challan 280 for the relevant year. You can file the taxes online from the government website of the Indian tax department or through private tax filing companies such as H&R Block. For the remaining years, you can contact your local income tax office, and the assessing officer will provide you with other options to pay the pending taxes. However, you will be liable to a penalty for the no payment of tax before the due date.If you are a beginner when it comes to doing taxes, I would suggest filing through portals such as H&R block. The live chat and support feature comes in handy if you are stuck at any step during the tax filing process. The best part about filing through H& R block is that, it’s completely free. The website also has a free tax calculation engine that makes accurate tax calculations, so you need not worry about any penalty or forms being returned. I personally, have been using H&R Block for filing my taxes and have found it really useful. Generally the entire tax filing process might take several weeks, but with H&R block, I can do it within in a day.

Can I file income tax returns for the assessment year 2011-12 and 2012-13 now?

Income tax returns for a financial year must be filed by individuals on or before the 31st of July of the next financial year. For example, Income Tax Returns of FY 2016-17 that end on 31stMarch 2017 will be due on 31st July 2017(However, the due date for this year was extended to 5th August 2017).Until the amendment in the Finance Act 2016, you can file your IT Returns after the specified due date i.e. belatedly, anytime on or before 1 year from the end of the relevant Assessment Year(AY). For example, for the AY 2016-17, a belated return can be filed on or before 31st March 2018. However, with the amendment vide Finance Act 2016, from AY 2017-18 i.e.FY 2016-17, IT belated returns should be filed before the end of the relevant AY. For example, return for FY 2016-17 can be belatedly filed on or before 31.03.2018 only. Therefore, ideally, 31st March 2018 is the deadline for all the belated tax return filers for the AYs 2016-17 & 2017-18.Belated filing has its own drawbacks:Penal interest may be applicable under section 234A, 234B and 234C.Delayed returns cannot be revised. (From FY 2016-17, belated return can also be revised)You will not be allowed to carry forward some losses that belong to the years for which returns were not filed. In case you have received a notice from I-T Department asking you to file your returns which go beyond 2 financial years, you can prepare www.cleartax.in to prepare your return. You can then print this return and submit it to the Income Tax Office in your ward. Usually old returns are filed as a response to an income tax notice.Interesting to note that from the AY 2018-19, the time limit for filing a revised return rectifying any omission, error etc made in the original return has also been reduced and such revision has to be done on or before the end of the relevant AY. Until AY 2017-18, there was a time limit for filing a revised return, of 1 year from the end of the relevant AY.

H&R block filed a wrong tax form..!?

I am on OPT and HR Block filed wrong tax form. They were supposed to file 1040 NR (non resident) but the agent filed 1040 EZ. Would HR block correct its mistake if I approach them again or I will have to pay again for correction??
