Will I Lose Marks In My English Exam

How do I score 95+ marks in my 12th board cbse English exam?

from what i have heard of from my school toppers ( as i am still in 11 and preparing for my final exams!)the board is really really strict about the spelling mistakes you make , its like they take a magnifying glass to check your spelling ,unless they are wearing spectacleswhen you are writing an essay , and say the word limit is 150–200 words . keep it 150 only , trust me nobody is interested in reading your long long essay , they are keen on finding any single spelling mistake thats it .you must be clear about the format of letter writing . while writing a notice the maximum word limit is upto 25 -45 words thats it .DISPLAY ADVERTISEMENTS - keep it short , dont make big big drawings without giving any relevant information. take your daily newspaper and have a look at the advertisements , they are so space oriented .that is how it is supposed to be and thats why it is called display advertisement and not posterdont use too much decorative words , first it will increase the risk of spelling mistake , and you tend to forget it . rather than it was exasperating ! you can write it was beautifultry to quote some lines from the chapter so as to give examiner a hint that you have not taken subject lightly .( although we all know that we study this subjet a day before exam )learn the character sketch of each and every chapter . and learn to frame answersso all the best !!

How to bullshit in english exams and still get good marks?

when u answer an essay just act like you know sooooooo much about it , don't be point blank . Add plenty of detail as if you were explaining it to a 5 yr old.

How many marks would you lose for a spelling mistake?

A single spelling mistake is unlikely to cost you the A*. :)

The answer to your question depends entirely on whether or not this was a repeated mistake (i.e., did you make the same mistake every time you wrote the word) or if it was a single occurrence.

For what it's worth, I believe the criteria for content and sentence variation are worth more. As long as you wrote a decent thesis and followed it through with evidence, you should be fine.

Will I lose marks if I cut/cross my answers often in the board exams?

If u have given any cut Mark or anything in ur answers then the person checking ur paper may think that ur answer is wrong so u have cut it and will not read it . So don't do that , even if u have written any wrong answer then don't cut it simply write the correct one under it with a gap. And if u have done anything like this then plz avoid it for the next time .All the best :-)

Do i lose marks if i use tippex on my olevel exams?

I remember being told you can't use any correction fluid. because how can they know that someone hasn't tampered with your paper, ask one of your teachers, hopefully it will be ok

In my English language ICSE exam, I made a rough draft for the precis but did not cut it. Will I lose marks?

Thanks Arshdeep Singh for A2A.If the rough work was done with pencil, the board won't consider it. But if it was done with pen and you haven't written ROUGH over it, then there are chances of marks being deducted.

I screwed up my English exam of 12th Board 2016. I did so because of lack of time and lost 12 marks from novel. I'll get around 70. Is it bad?

I don't know what you're really worried about. 70? Even if you'd had left 30 marks of your paper, you would've still scored more. Doesn't seem legit? Yes, it never will, because CBSE.I am a 2015 graduate and there was a lot of hype around the English paper. It was lengthy, tiring and torturous. I had a horrible paper. Wasn't even expecting 70. The result? 95/100. I wasn't satisfied with what I wrote but CBSE is pretty lenient when it comes to marking. While I attempted the whole paper, my answers were far from perfectionperfection and some were straight out of context.Don't be surprised if you get way above your expectations. Chill out, the result would be mind-boggling. Don't let this paper interrupt you preparation for upcoming exams. The teachers who check your paper give grace marks if they like what you've written elsewhere. 5-10 marks are generally 'given away' if the student's performance is satisfactory. Cheer up and all the best for your next paper. :)

How do I get above 90 in English in the ICSE board?

Hey, this is Harsh. I appeared for ICSE 2016 and I got 96 in English. So, I think I'll be able to answer your query.First, thing you need to understand that ENGLISH comprises of two papers 1 and 2. So , obviously, you need to do well in both to score about 95.Honestly speaking I was no one great in English. There are a few reasons as to how I could pull off this marks.Constant study and through with the text. The most important thing is to bed though with the text. You cannot afford to miss about a single paragraph in literature. We had merchant of Venice in 2016 and I remember my self memorising the entire dramma. I'm not lying. I also had the poems by heart and almost every chunk of the stories. So, even if I came across a question which I had nevertheless faced before in ICSE I could easily pull out text references and solidify my answers. Remember textual reference fetch you the most amount of marks. So, read the text over and over again.Go through as many answers as possible. It helps you understand the way you should be answering. You should be good at speaking English. Yes you read it right. It is very important to refrain from using colloquial English in your paper something which is very common due to the general tendency of first framing the answer in your mother tongue and then translating it to English. Particularly for your essays use good der sentences and impress the reader by drawing his or her attention.Last, enjoy literature. Keep thinking‌, talking to yourself in English and get your desired marks.Ps. I scored 95.4 overall. So english is important.

Will I lose marks if I wrote all answers in one single paragraph instead of writing in points in the CBSE X board exam? I have written exceeding my word limit. How many marks would they deduct for extra words?

Hahaha!!!I remember that i had also written in the same way!!!infact i have written in class 11first term also….But let me tell you .. teachers won't deduct your marks,ya they will not be impressed but they will surely not do that…Ahhh!!i know it is pretty difficult to write in points according to me…i mostly write answers in paragraph but this time many teachers had advised me to write answers in points..so i wrote point wise answers in second term of class 11.But i remember i had written all answer in paragraph and all answers exceededtheir limits but still I got very good marks …So relax!!Take it easy!!….All the best!
