Can I get a virus that will extract a .rar file with WinRAR?

Not a RAR file no. But WinRAR (and many other archivers able to make RAR files) can turn that RAR file into an EXE. They embed the decompressor into an executable and then include the original RAR file inside that. Some settings may then specify that it should run some file after it’s been extracted. This setting is only available in self-extracting EXE files, not the original RAR file.Same goes for nearly all types of archiving files. From stuff such as ISO through ZIP / 7Z, ARJ, TAR, etc. etc. etc. They are all just containers of other files. And programs able to read into them and extract their contents tend to not just start running something from inside. Most of them can also be turned into a self-extracting EXE. Some like ISO can be written onto a storage medium (like a CD/DVD) in which case it can “then” have some auto-starting program as soon as you insert the storage media.Usually you should not have an issue as long you you didn’t double-click some EXE file.Unfortunately there are exceptions. Some EXE files may target some weakness (yet to be fixed, if any) in some Windows programs - e.g. Explorer itself tends to read parts of a file to check for special properties. If some virus writer found a way to trick Explorer into actually doing something when it reads these properties, that EXE file may infect your computer as soon as you look at it. I’m not saying Explorer (or anything else) has such weakness, just that such things has happened in the past, and thus cannot be excluded from happening in the future.

Can a virus affect files inside a RAR file?

Yes and No depends on the following factor:If the archive is encrypted : Answer will be NO if the archived file is encrypted with password, the virus program will have to enter the password of the archive before infecting it.If the archive is unencrypted : Answer will be YES

How do I use an ISO Game File to install a game?

The answer depends upon the operating system that you're using.I'll cover the two methods anyway. For Windows 7 (and any previous version) users:Download and install Daemon Tools Lite. (here - https://www.daemon-tools.cc/prod... )Create a virtual drive by following visual instructions and then restart your computer to let the changes take effect. You will now find an extra drive when you open My Computer (or Windows Explorer) from now on, which will contain the contents of the ISO file that you want to access (a prompt will ask you to insert a disk into the drive if you double-click on the drive when there is no image mounted). Now, you can either go to the directory that contains the Max Payne ISO, Right-Click on it and then open it with Daemon Tools; or, you can run Daemon Tools and look for the Mount Image option (by hovering your mouse over the options present in the Daemon Tools window, if it becomes difficult to figure out which button does what)Now that you have successfully mounted the image, you will notice an Autoplay notification that asks whether you want to run the setup or not. If not, then you can open My Computer (or Windows Explorer) and double-click on the virtual drive to access the contents of the ISO. The name of this virtual drive will probably be shown as Max Payne (X:), where (X:) is your virtual drive. Find the setup (.exe) file for the game inside this drive. Now you can install the game with the help of the setup file, just like you would, had you been installing a game from a CD/DVD.After installation is completion, note that, it would help your system free up resources if you unmount the image, when you're done installing the game (provided the game does not require you to insert the disk while playing, which was the usually the case for games that were made a decade ago). It would also allow you to install new games by using the same virtual drive that has been created, with Daemon Tools Lite. For Windows 8/8.1/10 users:Double-Click on the ISO and voila! The contents of an ISO file will be mounted automatically onto a virtual drive and you get access without using any third-party software, like Daemon Tools. After you're done with the ISO, right-click on the virtual drive and click Eject. That will unmount the image from the system. In case Windows 8 users cannot mount ISOs directly, the solution is provided in the following link : How to mount an ISO image with Windows 8?Hope this works for you, good luck. Does compressing files by 7zip affect the quality of files?

No, you can compress and extract files without losing any bit of information.
7z, zip, rar etc uses lossless compression algorithms, the data you extract is exactly identical to the data you compressed.
Other types of compression, i.e. jpeg, mp3, divx etc are lossy, some information is lost each time the data is compressed.
This is usually not an issue for multimedia data, as the algorithms assures the quality of the output will be acceptable or even humanly not distinguishable from the original, but of course this very idea cannot be applied at all to other kind of data, like programs or databases, where a single change in a bit could make the whole file useless.

How much can WinRAR compress files?

It depends on the file type. If the file is random, encrypted, or already compressed, then it will compress very little or not at all by any compressor. This includes most image, video, and audio formats (mp3, mp4, jpg, etc). Office documents like docx, xlsx, pptx, and most pdf files are also already compressed. On the Large Text Compression Benchmark, WinRAR compresses text to 20% to 40% of its original size depending on the compression options chosen. Better compression is slower. On the 10 GB Compression Benchmark, rar compresses a large collection of files to 45% of original size using default settings and 32% of original size using the options for best compression, compared to 48% for zip and 27% for the best compressors.

Will compressing a file reduce its quality?

I have some files that I would like to compress to save room on my computer, but the majority of these are media files. These are mainly .avi files, however I do have some .iso files that I would like to compress as well. One of these .iso files is actually just under 4.1 gigs. Can I compress these while maintaining quality?
Also, what compression format is best for this? Winrar will allow me to compress it to a .rar file and a .zip file. Since these are movies (and a few programs) I would really prefer not to lose any quality here.
Thanks.

Can i delete original RAR file after extracting them?

The extracted videos will not be affected. Just make sure that you extract the videos into a directory that you know. Some unzipping software may extract videos into a temporary directory, which may be deleted periodically.
