Will Kickstarter Fund Me

What is the difference between Kickstarter and GoFundMe?

Biggest DifferencesKickstarter:Rewards based crowdfunding: people pledge money, usually so they can get a “reward” (perk) if the campaign is successful. Often that reward is early access to a product or service.All-or nothing goal, time-limit: If the “pledges” don’t reach the goal within the time limit - then no money changes hands. Campaign creators get nothing. If the goal-amount is reached, then the creators get the entire amount pledged - minus fees.Types of Campaigns. Tech products, film, arts, creative projects. Community projects.GoFundmeDonation crowdfunding. Pure charity. People pledge/dontate to a cause, or charity situation. No rewards no perks. All donations accepted. time limit. All money is accepted, and the campaign owner can withdraw at any time (minus fees). Time limit is just there so the campaign has a logical end.Types of Campaigns: Fundraisers for emergencies, personal medical problems, memorials, causes (that are usually more personal than broad) - educational… often to support an individual’s cause or problem. On behalf of others; Gofundme allows “third parties” to set up fundraising campaigns on behalf of others (whether they really know them or not!) — kickstarter requires the campaign creators to be the recipient (and benificiaries) of the funding. So for exaple - on Gofundme, you might be able to start a fundraising campaign for a family you saw on the news, who lost their home in a flood.

Can I use kickstarter for no reason?

I want to know if I can use kickstarter purely for just getting money. Not towards any important cause, just for myself. I mean, hey, if someone is dying to give away money, couldn't they just give me money? I looked through the Terms, i didn't see anything that says In can't. Anyone?

Can I raise money on GoFundMe, then go onto Kickstarter to raise funds for a final product to be made?

You can create campaigns on both platforms, but it may not be beneficial to do so. You would be trying to create two different backer communities, and this will be problematic as you will need to receive a good amount of funding on the launching day of both of the campaigns. Remember, no stranger will back your project if they see that there are no previous funding. With this scenario, you will have to create two separate pre-launch campaigns, which will direct to the corresponding platform. If you are looking to create a Crowdfunding campaign, I would advise to only launch on one platform. If you are looking for a platform that does not take a transaction fee on your donations, so that you can keep more money, I would suggest using Thrinacia Reach. Another advantage with using Thrinacia Reach, is the ability to copy and paste your CrowdFunding campaign on to your website so users can view and donate to your campaign, via widget HTML code. If you would like more information on CrowdFunding, I recommend visiting: https://www.thrinacia.com/blog

What is the stupidest go fund me or Kickstarter you have ever seen?

As a wise proverb once said “tits or get the fuck out”.Click here to support Tits breast organised by Emily HillNot much background information or a heartwarming story is provided. Just the poetic and minimalistic refrain, “Tits breast”.Not just tits, not just breast, Tits breast. Truly a work of art, displaying the rampant consumerism, sexualisation and objectification in modern society. This art truly subverts our expectations. For there is not only a tit, nor a breast. We see the juxtaposition of the tit, the betitted, the titty, the rough and ragged representation of a full and aweing specimen of boobies, with the medical, hospital, and soft baby-jugs, the maternal and scientific breasts. This is a thrilling display of how representations of white feminity (the motherly “breast”) and POC feminity (the struggling street survivor, the one with “tits”) shape our cultures and bring us together as one. What an intellectual offer, that has been bestowed upon us all as individuals perusing the vastness of the online world.Happily, this riveting campaign is trending on go fund me, which tells me that the youth are, as they say, woke.

Can I raise crowdfunding on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and GoFundMe for the same project at the same time? Would this be any problem?

You should focus on using one platform and managing that campaign well. Given that Kickstarter has emerged as the most popular crowdfunding platform, you should consider it. Here are their latest stats. Before you start the campaign:-Try and create a community of users. A lot of the successful campaigns had a user community created before they launched on Kickstarter.Invest time and resources in creating a good quality pitch video that that effectively narrates your story and product offering.Create a good profile on the site.During the campaign:-Communicate well. People may have questions about your product before they back it, Be prompt in answering those.Market your campaign and get the word out as much as you can. Rally your network and leverage bloggers, press wires and product experts to talk about you or provide reviews. After the campaign:-Work h.a.r.d. Your first priority should be to ship to backers.Communicate regularly with your backers. Send them project updates and communication - proactively. Nothing can be more detrimental to a brand than lack of regular communication that may result in a negative word of mouth.A lot of campaigns that successfully raise, are automatically covered in the press. Market your product and get the word out about the amazing work you are doing.Have a look here if you need tips on what other founders did that you can do (or avoid).Good luck!

Can Kickstarter replace copyright as a way for indies to make money?

This is a bad idea, and here's why:Under the current model, I can use kickstarter to raise the capital needed to bring my project to market, generally with some pre-sale units included. After that, the IP has been developed and can be sold on an individual basis. If it takes off in an explosive way, I make a lot of money. If it doesn't, then I don't. The proposed notion sounds like I would have to go in before hand and determine a fixed amount of profit I would be willing to settle for, then, give away the IP to backers, and effectively, anyone else. Why would I be encouraged to do this? If I'm conservative in my estimate of how successful the project will be, I short change myself. If I over estimate or place too high a value on myself, the project will not fund and I will not be successful at all. Additionally, without a protected copyright, what is stopping non-backers from obtaining the result of the project? (Unless I'm producing a physical good, which is not generally where we'd discuss copyright.) And if people could obtain the product without backing it, how much does it diminish their incentive to back the project?

Can tools like Kickstarter and go fundme become a viable means of funding scientific research? Relying on the "disaster of the moment" government funds makes political what should be nonpolitical.

The problem is not whether science can be crowdfunded, but whether scientists will even try it. Scientists are critical and cautious and quick to try to shoot down ideas. Arguments I have seen repeatedly:Crowdfunding can never get raise money to support research.People who are not scientists will support fluff, or worse, rubbish.Politicians will use any successful crowdfunding as a justification to cut even more money from science.Crowdfunding takes too much time. And something that I have rarely seen expressed outright, but I know is an issue, is that some institutions have made getting grants from particular agencies, and of a particular dollar value, a de facto criterion for promotion or tenure. There are probably some scientists who could raise a million dollars crowdfunding, but wouldn’t get promoted because they didn’t get an NIH R01 grant.Kickstarter and Gofundme are good at what they do, but what they do is not science. It’s probably better if there is a dedicated Crowdfunding Platform for Scientific Research — of which there are several. Link just has one.I’ve done two crowdfunding campaigns for scientific research, so blogged about this extensively. See NeuroDojo posts on #SciFund.Technical paper about science crowdfunding I co-authored: To Crowdfund Research, Scientists Must Build an Audience for Their Work.Five minute video explaining some of the findings:

How to fund a car restoration?

I want to restore a 1966 ford mustang fastback. But I only have enough money to buy the car and then I am broke. I wont take a loan from a bank for it. I can not afford to I mean the main reason I am doing this so I don't have a car payment my family can not afford it the economy has been hard on us just like everyone one else. I need to raise cash for this at least 25,000. My grandfather can help me build it but I still don't have lifter to raise the engine out and put it back in. I know about kickstarter.com but I don't think this qualifies to be on there. If you have any ideas please let me know. I want to be able to at least build my car if I cant afford to buy a new one or the payment on it. I will have to borrow or rent machines to complete this and the paint I will have to find some one to paint the car and some one to refinish the inside. Please help. I get that most people get a loan but it really is not an option for me.

Is it possible to start Kickstarter campaign for a webpage?

It is possible of course. Very important though to consider the rewards you’re going to offer.
