Will Left Wingers Forever Give Obama The Credit For Putin

When will the left give President Trump a chance the way they gave Obama one?

In 2009, Obama was facing a financial crisis. One of the many problems he faced was that the big 3 automakers were on the edge of insolvency. Inaction meant the end of Ford, GM, and Chrysler. Obama decided that in exchange for needed cash, the federal government would receive equity rather than loans. In effect, he used gov’t money to partly purchase 2 of the big 3 (Ford didn’t take the money). When this happened, the political right claimed that this was the first step to communism. They did not wait weeks or even days to pass judgement. This was the end of the republic and Obama would eventually nationalize all means of production. The president’s critics did not wait to pass judgement. The action itself was bad enough. The fact that the gov’t sold the equity in 2010 at a profit was ignored. If you are a politician, the voters don’t wait. If you are the mayor and fill the potholes on main street, 40% of the people will complain that you spend too much. You don’t get to wait and see the results of the new highway, or the new tax cuts. Is that fair? Nope. Should we wait and see the results? Perhaps. Will Fox News admit that the gov’t made money on the auto bailout and saved millions of private sector jobs? Not in a million years.

How long will Barack Obama get a free pass to "let his policies take effect"?

Has it been six months? I said I would give him six months to get something done.

The thing is, he went with the big change and is being blocked left and right. Which was a stupid ploy at this point. He should have built up many smaller changes to support his big health care reform. But he didn't.

He could have started with numerous smaller pieces of legislation to improve health care. Instead, he went with building a completely new parallel system, and is insisting on getting it done. This is not, as many ambitious university students have been told, first year work. Year one is to lay down a foundation. In university, that foundation is learning. As President, that foundation is small bills.

He has bitten off way more than his administration can chew, and is choking on it.

He did have some significant pitfalls to overcome. But he is generally ignoring those areas at the moment.

Would Obama have received more or less credit for having met with Kim Jong Un in the same manner Trump did?

As Joe Troise says in the collapsed section, Obama would certainly have prepared for the meeting. When Obama was president, there was a sitting Ambassador to South Korea, unlike today, when we don’t even have an ambassador nominated. That ambassador would have sat down with the North Koreans and worked out an agenda and even negotiated some simple things. That would have meant that when Obama would have met Chairman Kim Jong Un, they would have been able to sign something that actually meant something, an authentic agreement. As it is, the meeting between Chairman Kim Jong Un and President Donald J. Trump was more aspirational than anything else. Sure, Kim promised to get rid of his nukes and ICBMs, but there is no timeline. There were a few gestures on the part of Kim… the freeing of American prisoners and the closing of the Nuke testing site, and one on the part of President Trump…. ending the provocative joint military maneouvres. A negotiation that ends in such gestures does not mean very much.

Will Macron unite a strong right-wing platform against him and his party like Obama did?

I would not compare Macron to Obama, it really would be too much of an honor to Macron and an insult to Obama. At least Obama has always been a democrat. Macron is such a filthy opportunist (married to a felon on top of that) that would say, do or become ANYTHING as long as it could get him anywhere!Macron started his career as tax inspector, hammering companies with taxes as much as he could, then (first 180° change) he became investor banker for Rothschild where he was helping companies escape taxes, then (second 180°) he came back to socialism and became Budget minister in president Hollande’s government that made a mess, and now he is back to being companies’ best friend, promoting investment in France (another 180°!!!). All this between 2004 and 2014??? Talking of instability, this man changes political orientation every 3 years on average!French got shamed into rejecting Le Pen (who-let’s remember it- would certainly not be considered a right winger in the US but more of a centrist) despite so much terrorism and violence going on on their soil (1000 cars burnt on Bastille day) ; they voted for Macron believing that somehow they could trust such a turncoat, what were they possibly thinking? No wonder why Macron got appointed by Hollande, Macron is nothing else than a younger Hollande, down to their Alma mater! They both come out of Sciences Po and École Nationale d’administration. Macron has OBVIOUSLY a finger in every pie and he cares for ONE thing only: HIS OWN INTEREST!!!! I am wondering how French did not see that. I used to live in France and French used to possess more critical thinking and intelligence… US President once said that France was not the country it used to be and then lately, a famous French news magazine’s headline was “From land of enlightenment to land of darkness” and it hit me: they were right on!French people have lost their spirit. They let the media dictate what they have to think and what is “cool” or not, instead of having a mind of their own. SAD end to what used to be “Pays des lumières” . I hope French wake up soon, take a hard look at the Britts and at what life looked like just 10 years ago and kick this darkspawn (the old timers Hollande and Sarkozy and all their gang who appoint each other over and over and take a bow each time Merkel says something) OUT of the landscape.

Is there any respect for Nobel prizes after Obama received one for doing nothing?

I have several things to say about this.Firstly, it's the Nobel Prize, not the Noble Prize.Secondly, you have used a classic False Premise by asserting that the prize was awarded for "doing nothing".  The prize was awarded for "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".Thirdly, the respect accorded the Nobel Prize is highly subjective.Lastly, the prize was awarded to Obama in 2009.  That was 5 years ago.  I'd like to know why you thought you should ask this question now.  I have my suspicions given your petulance and bad faith, but I'd appreciate some candor.

Do you agree that Obama was one of our greatest recent presidents?

You know what they say, if you tell a lie enough, sooner or later people will start thinking it is true.Obama did more to hurt the US than any president that I know of. He was the most incompetent one since Jimmy Carter.First, a US President is a leader to all US citizens. As citizens, we all are treated the same. Obama did more to harm race relations by taking sides with black thugs than Andrew Jackson did by removing the Indians in the Trail of Tears. With Jackson, everyone knew he was only going to do what he thought was the best for the US.Once Obama came out on the side of thugs, he let it be known that police was fair game. Police are the glue that holds society together. Oh, so thugs, anti-police I think there is a connection here. Then the “You can keep your health care.” OK, that explains itself.Obama managed to spend more federal dollars and run the US into more debt than all the former presidents combined. There are rough people in the world. You don’t appease them. You talk to bullies from a position of strength. That is why Russia took the little countries. That is why China took those reefs in international waters and turned them into military bases. Now they dare the US to come close.Obama was the worst presidents that I can think of. I voted for Trump over Hillary, well because who has more real experience at managing a big organization. What has Hillary really done?
