Will Losing 30 Pounds Make My Skin Sag

Will I have saggy skin after losing weight?

I am a 16 year old girl. I am not morbidly obese or anything. Just kind of chubby. I have started exercising, doing cardio to burn fat, and eating healthy. I reduced my calories by 600. I want to lose around 30 to 50 pounds so I can be super skinny and have my best body possible. If I lose a lot of weight will I have saggy flabby skin? I am doing light toning workouts and everything. Like planking and light push-ups and curl ups everyday. Since I'm young, will my skin stretch back to normal?

Will you have loose skin after losing 50 pounds?

Yes. Probably. You have something called skin elasticity, which is impacted by a few things like age and the amount of stretching your skin had to do to accommodate that extra weight. Fifty pounds is not so much as to guarantee it will cause loose skin, but it is enough that it's likely, especially if that weight was mostly carried in one place, such as your abdomen.I lost close to 300 lbs, and I had loose skin all over my body. It required a number of surgeries to remove all the excess, which totalled around 18 lbs itself. Because of how mine was distributed, I still have a little bit of loose skin in some places that isn't enough for a surgical procedure, like under my chin, which sucks because altho it isn't super visible, whenever I notice it myself it makes me feel older, like something I'd see on a lady twenty years older. I hate it.Fifty pounds evenly distributed over someone who is very tall and on the younger side of things might not have any trouble at all with elasticity and the skin may shrink without leaving any looseness, especially if you are also doing some weight training to fill it in with muscle.Fifty pounds on a shorter person who is older and only does some extreme dieting perhaps, without any weight training, especially if it's all carried in the midsection, is much more likely to result in loose skin.

If i loose a total of 60 pounds, will my skin sag??

Don't worry, 60 pounds will not cause your skin to sag if you go about losing the weight the right way (exercise, diet, and lots of water). I've researched loads on this and only found that people have a lot of loose skin if they're losing 100+ pounds, but there are some people who've lost 300 pounds, gained lots of muscle and have no sagging skin, what so ever.

Skin is a very amazing thing, it can stretch to unbelievable levels, and it can also shrink back to normal. If you still have some sagging skin after you reach your weight after doing everything right, it's nothing to worry about, your skin isn't snapping back as fast as maybe a younger persons would (I don't know your age, but trust me, 60 lbs is nothing to be worried about), after a while of maintaining and keeping up your exercise your skin will snap back, switch to toning exercises, aerobics, your skin should snap back no problem, all it is is a case of removing the fat completely (well, I'd like to think so, but you'll still have a few % of fat come the very end).

Keep up the struggle, It's a long battle of patience and willpower, best of luck to you.

Will I have loose skin after losing 50 pounds? I'm 16 years old, female and am about 5'4″ and weigh around 160 pounds. When I gain weight, I tend to gain in it in my stomach, and I'm terrified that I will end up with loose skin in my stomach.

I lost 60 lbs. I have some lose skin but not a hugely noticeable amount. It sure looks a lot better than the extra 60 lbs did. I am much older than you and have some “crinkly skin” in my arms that you may not experience due to your age, but if you lose a lot of weight you will have some lose skin no matter what. But with 50 lbs it won’t be a lot.One other thing. If you are 5’4” then 120 is a more reasonable goal than 110.

Will I get loose skin if I lose 35 pounds? I am 17 years old, around 5'8 ft tall, and 190 lbs with a lot of stretch marks.

That's a little less than 20% of your total body weight. It's usually rapid & excessive weight loss that causes loose skin for people who are really obese. I wouldn't worry about this at your age; at 190 lbs and 5-ft 9-inches tall, you're borderline. You may be carrying a bit of excess weight, but you have control over this, and can lose it within 2-4 months if you adopt an exercise regimen, and correct your diet.It takes knowledge. The internet is a great resource. People tend to believe that working out is the only answer, and forget about the incredibly important component of FOOD. How to actually nourish their bodies with whole foods (not packaged or processed). Less meat -no more than once a day, if that. Fruits. Nuts. Vegetables. Rice, quinoa, and potatoes. Eating smaller portions, more often throughout the day.Perhaps you could focus on developing an exercise regimen. This is a good habit that will last you a lifetime, and has many beneficial effects on your body overall. Drink plenty of filtered water each day, develop a cardio regimen, perhaps lifting weights and/or using weight machines. You will never regret the time you spend in the gym, or outdoors walking.

Will I be left with saggy/loose skin if I lose 60 pounds?

Hello.

I'm kinda worried, and I'd really appreciate any help I can get from you guys.

I'm a 5'3, 21 yr. old who is currently on the way to loosing weight. I initially weighed 185 lbs and I'm now on 173 lbs. I know it's not much, but... I'm trying to get there.

The problem is... I have a feeling I'm not going about this the correct way. Lately I've lost appetite, I hardly get hungry and I'm not doing exercise or drinking water as I should. What I'm doing basically is just eating small portions. I've noticed sometimes I eat without being hungry, so that's something I've stopped doing too. The bad thing is that I'm always busy with school and work that I hardly have time to prepare healthy foods or exercise.

This concerns me and I'm worried about after loosing all this weight if I'll end up having saggy or loose skin? Does anyone know?

Or what can I do to prevent this, if anything? I really would never consider going under the knife! That's terrifying!

Any help will be appreciated. :)

After losing 30 pounds in the last 7 months, some of my skin is a little loose and saggy. Can I expect it to tighten up in time, or am I stuck with it?

Mostly it depends on your genetics and how well you've taken care of your skin. That being said, if strength training wasn't part of your exercise routine then you will be more saggy. Muscle can add bulk and tone where just cardio can't. If you have been lifting as well then you might be stuck with the sag. Alot of people who lose lots of weight end up having surgery to get rid of the extra skin. Really depends on what you want to do. But if your skin doesn't tighten up within a year, with consistent strength training then you're most likely stuck with it.As far as your girlfriend goes, include her in your progress and new found lifestyle.
