Will My Ear Piercings Close If I Remove Earrings For A Few Weeks

After 9 weeks ear lobe piercing and stud earings?

Hi, i got my left earlobe piercing 9 weeks ago (2 months), and ive treated it with care (antiseptic, etc). It has NEVER EVER hurt or felt funny for me, but it was only tingly when i JUST got the piercing. A mosquito's bite hurt more.

So now, after 9 weeks, im wondering can i take these stud earings out now? and by taking them out i mean leaving them out for good (and not putting another earing in my lobe). will my hole close up, or will it be fine? if not, how long do i have to wait with these stud earrings until my earlobe hole is perfectly healed and im able to live without earrings in my ear?

also, im trying to take these stud earrings out as best as i can but they arent coming out :(

Can I remove an ear piercing after 6 weeks?

You can *replace* the earring now. Don't take it out and leave it out. The piercing is so fresh even after 6 weeks that the healing process will start in minutes and 6 hours later you may have to half re-pierce yourself to get an earring in. The rule is: if you like your piercing, wear a jewelry in it (otherwise it'll close).

Can I change my earrings 4 weeks after piercing?

There is a reason the standard is six weeks. That reason is, that nearly all earlobes have the tissue density and type to heal properly in that amount of time, and nearly all bodies have the correct healing response to do likewise. That said, I have seen people for whom 6 weeks is not enough. It stands to reason that there are certainly people for whom less than six weeks is adequate. But, there's no way to know into which group you fall, unless you've tried before with a piercing, and it didn't work out. While you might be fine after 4 weeks, it is far more advisable you wait the whole six.

Will my new ear piercing close up if I take it out for an hour?

If you just got it pierced, you should leave the earring in untill the date in which they tell you to take it out (ie. a lobe piercing must be in for 6 weeks). If you take it out beforehand you can increase the risk of infection and keloids.

If you MUST take it out then it will close a little, but not fully. Usually I find that my piercings start closing towards the back (where you put your backing in).

You can use a clear retainer earring to hold it's place, but as it's a new piercing, prolonged use of a clear earring with a flat head could run the risk of you piercing growing/ healing over the earring.

Time it takes for ear piercing to close if week old?

Some wonder if piercings, such as ear or nose piercings, ever close up. Here are some of the answers people have come up with from around the web:

"Piercings do not close or disappear, but the better you heal them in the first place, the less of a scar you will notice. Quality titanium post jewelry is the first step, 100% disposable sterile equipment is the next and a gentle piercing and healing process will wrap it up with a nice looking result barring any unforseen accidents.
"It's relative to the size, place of the piercing, and how long you've had it. While my nostril piercing closed up within an hour, my eyebrow piercing has been open for the past six months even though I've had no jewelry in it. I've also had my earlobes pierced since I was 6 months old and haven't worn jewelry in them for a few years but they are still open."
"Facial piercings take a long time to close due to the vascular nature of the face. If you have a tongue piercing that has healed, it is not going to close up. Eyebrow piercings are also going to take a long time to close. The exceptions to the rule are lower lip and nostril."

How long does it take for an ear piercing to close?

Ear piercing is the most common practice among the women of today and this habits being traced back to thousands of years from now. Initially, the ear piercing was adopted by men due to social status signs and was later adopted by women as well.imagePresently, this is the most common habit in women. Professionals recommend that wearing the earring should be followed by the piercing of ears, this will make the piercing heals without closing the hole of the ear. In this way, the ear piercings will take more time to close, but you have to make it sure to wear earrings occasionally, a week within a month, to avoid the closure of ear piercings. If the piercings are fresh, it will take just a few days to close and the older the piercings are, it will take more time to heal. However, one can not estimate the exact time for the closure of ear piercings, if one does not wear earrings. One fact is that as well, if you wear ear piercings for three to four years continuously, after piercing your ears, they will remain open for a lifelong time and will never close.Related:What your eyes tell about your health?Six major types of body fat and how to lose it?Seven natural remedies for a 18 years look. This is the most effective home remedy for Memory loss. This is the Method of removing Facial Hair at Home.Attribution for content

Why do my earlobes close up after a few days without earrings even though I've had them pierced for about 15 years?

I actually have this problem as well, although my ears have only been pierced for four years. The problem is that your piercings are being chronically irritated. Ear piercings that have healed normally won’t close up so easily. There could be many reasons behind why your ears didn’t heal properly. You may have a metal allergy that is constantly irritating your ears, or it may just be the type of earring, or how you change your earrings. Even sleeping on your side can irritate them. You have a few options. One is to buy earrings that are completely nickel free. Even most gold and silver earrings will contain some nickel. If you’re really worried about it you could try surgical-grade stainless steel/titanium, or 14–16 karat gold. Costume/cheap earrings are the absolute worst idea, so don’t wear them! The next option is to let your piercings close up completely, then get new piercings with safe metal, and leave them it for at least 6 weeks without changing them. If you disturb them, you’ll probably end up with the same problem as before. The last option is what I’ve been doing; just toughing it out. I keep round backed studs in everyday, cleaning occasionally, in addition to when I change my earrings. I never leave my earrings out for more than a day. I did once, and my hole partially closed up. Ouch.
