Will My Kitten Be Okay While I

Will my kitten be ok I left it home alone?

First, you should go to a vet and ask. Kitties are quick learners, and once he learns the litter box things will loosen up. He's angry because of the small space now, and that's why he has mixed feelings. He's free to be your buddy when he has more space. And I know the guilt and sadness can be terrible, but they'll pass. too. When he learns the litter box, would it be possible to give him the bathroom/hall/kitchen (for the floors)? And make sure he has a soft bed lined with a towel or old blanket you've slept with (he'll cozy up to your scent), and some toys and maybe a scratch station or post. Cats sleep 2/3 of their lives, mostly during the day, by the way. And two medium-size boxes--one upright and one on its side--are always a big hit, and put a slept-on towel in each of them. My daughter went through all this, and now her 2 cats, Possum and Ivory Rose, love to go on looong trips in the car with her. Time to go to Petsmart and ask some of your friends with kitties what toys are good. No accounting for tastes, though.

4 month old kitten. Will she be ok alone for 2 days?

How do I put this? If you said you were in an accident and in the hospital and had no one to get to the house to take care of your cat, I'd say she'll live - just get better so you can get out early and get home to her. But this is a planned pleasure trip, and you're considering ditching your very young cat home alone with no company and just toss dry food her way? I have a cat the same age, and I can't imagine putting her through that worry and upset.

Call your vet and find a pet sitter. Then establish an ongoing relationship so that when Eva is older she isn't upset when you leave her. This will not only be best for her, but it will give you peace of mind in the event some emergency comes up and you have to be gone for a longer period. Besides, Eva may become very anxious about you leaving. Two of ours do. They know whenever one of us is gone over night, and sit in the window watching for the missing one. They can become quite upset about it. One follows me around all day if my son is gone. I am so thrilled to finally have found the perfect sitter. She's the first one that my cats seem to consider a good substitute, and they are not upset when we get back.

Whatever you do, don't have your husband's flaky college buddy feed Eva. If he remembers to show up he's likely to bring a dog. My neighbors just lost their cat this way. The dog chased the cat and they never saw her again. It's been two months.

You might also consider getting Eva a kitty buddy of her own. She is alone a lot and cats are not solitary creatures. I know you would not enjoy being kept somewhere where you had no humans in your life, only cats. Same thing.

And BTW, you're a nurse, so I figure you understand a little bit about nutrition. Dry food is no diet for a cat. It's very high in carbs and cats don't even naturally eat carbs. I assume she's on a dry only diet because you said she'd have plenty of food and water. That will lower her life expectancy, because it sets her up for kidney and other diseases. Your vet will sooner or later tell you the same thing.

Will my 8 week old kitten be ok if left alone all day?

Usually i work only 6 hours, being gone from home for 8, but once a week i am away from 9am-9pm. I have an 8 week old kitten who kind of eats wet food and nibbles on her dry food after i show her where the food is. Will she be ok on my long days if i leave her with dry and wet food, litter box, toys, and a blanket? Maybe in an enclosed space like the bathroom so she can find everything more easily? I have only had her for 3 days, which have all been my days off. Tmw is my long day and i am extremely worried about her being alone all day and alone then the 3 days after that while i am at work.

Is it okay to spank my kitten?

I've tried spraying him with water but he just seems unfazed by it.
I don't really spank him hard but when I spank him he runs underneath my bed, so I don't know if he knows he was bad, or if he is just scared of me.

Is it okay to leave dry food for a kitten for more than 5 hours?

It is never ideal to wet dry food as it is the most likely type of food to be contaminated with bacteria and then cause food poisoning as bacteria start to grow with the addition of water or any liquid. If the kitten is eating solid food, canned food is ideal, but should not be left out any longer than you would leave your own food out. It is generally good to leave some dry kitten food out for a snack if you will be gone for a long time. Small pieces of good quality dry food can usually be eaten by kittens as young as 4 weeks old.It is best to feed canned diets to maintain proper hydration, but dry snacks are well tolerated by most kittens, especially if a small amount of water is added to the canned diet when it is fed.Kittens are particularly susceptible to food poisoning because they haven't been exposed to low levels of toxins in food yet. As they get older, they will gradually gain antibodies to the toxins and become more immune, but there is rarely a full immunity, even in middle-aged cats. The rule of thumb is: Don't wet dry, don't leave canned out more than 1 to 2 hours at moderate room temperature and don't refrigerate longer than 3 days (take left overs out of the can to store in the refrigerator as well).Good luck with your kitten!

Will my 10 week old kitten be okay if left alone for 7 hours?

I've had my kitten for about two weeks now and I was just wondering if she would be okay if I she was left alone for seven hours a day for the next two-and-a-half days. I am going on a trip for the 4th of July and I am forced to leave her alone with my mom (who works for seven hours a day) and my brother who is not always home (which means she may not be alone for a full seven hours). My kitten is already used to my room, which is where she will be kept while my mom is at work. There is food, water, and a litter box in there. She will probably sleep in my mom's room or alone in my room. I think my brother will play with her a bit during the day if he is not busy because he really likes cats/kittens as well. I was just wondering if you guys think she would be okay. I am very worried about her! Thanks!

Will my kitten be OK if I leave it home alone for 3 days?

how old is the kitten you are planning to adopt? If it is very small ( 3 months) it probably won't be able to survive that long without you because it is very young and very dependent on you. if it is about 1 years old, i would still be wary of this action, but being older, the cat/kitten will be able to take care of itself more and be more independent. You can leave a full grown cat for a few days alone when you are going on vacation for a short period of time (ex. 2 days) given that you provide it with several bowls of food and several panfulls of kitty litter. By three days, do you mean three nights and four days or 2 nights and 3 days? My family and I used to go on vacations and leave our cats at home with enough food and litter. the first time i did it, i had one cat a little over 1 years old and one cat a little under 1 years old. We left them for 1 night and2 days and when we got back, they were fine and very happy to see us. Another time we left them is when we have one of the same cats almost 3 or 4 years old and a new cat about 9 months old. ( one of the old one was killed by a car accident. i miss her everyday) this time, we left them 2 nights and 3 days and they were still fine and very healthy when we got back. I think it depends on experience and the age that the kitten/cat is. Have fun with your kitten!
Warning: you will have a lot to clean up after. ;)

Is it okay to feed my kitten chicken nuggets?

It is perfectly okay to feed chicken to a cat, with or without the fried skin. It's by no means harmful. However, sometimes when a cat eats something that she is not used to she may get a little bit of an upset stomach, usually diarrhea. It's not dangerous though and it will go away quickly. Any kind of meat is okay to give to a cat just make sure there is no bones with the meat.

Cats love chicken and it's perfectly okay to give them some as a treat once in a while. It is however not something that should be fed to your cat exclusively as her main food because of the simple fact that chicken alone does not contain all the nutrients a cat really needs.

If your cat has an upset stomach at this time it could be due to eating the chicken but if it continues tomorrow I think you should take her to the vet. A little bit of diet related upset stomach will not last very long so if your cats problems last it's probably something else.
