Will My Milk Supply Dry Up If I Cut Calories

How many calories does your body need?

I did some research and found this daily calorie allowance table for men and women. It tells you accordingly how many calories you should intake daily depending on your weight, gender and how active you are.  I think you will find this useful too. I put a lot of effort and time writing answers, if you found it useful. Please upvote it and follow me on Quora. Thanks for your support. I highly appreciate.

How can I keep my breast milk from drying up?

Continue to drink plenty of fluids, as you are doing, and increase the amount if you can. Eat a well balanced diet, and do not try to cut calories to lose weight. This is the number one cause of decreased milk production. The problem with the pumping may be that it takes more suction to express milk than what the pump is giving. This is a common problem, especially with cheaper pumps. Babies suck harder and faster as they get older, and pumps with less power can't compete. Also, how often you nurse or pump can factor into the equation as well. If you pump or nurse every hour, this is too frequently to have a good supply. She should be nursing every 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Otherwise, she is just snacking and not receiving the nutrient rich, thicker hind milk that is near the end of the feeding. This may be why she does not seem satisfied. An herbal supplement that my pediatrician recommended to increase milk production is Fenugreek. It is available at GNC, and if you check message boards for nursing mothers, I guarantee that you will see the name multiple times as a suggestion. However, please talk with your pediatrician before starting any herbal supplement. Try contacting the La Leche league for other suggestions. That's what they are there for. I wish you all the luck.

If I stop eating sugar, will it eliminate my belly fat?

Damn. There sure is a whole lot of pseudo science round these parts. A carb is a carb. Meaning that if you cut sugar, and replace it with sweet potato, you’ll still have that belly fat. Here’s what science says on the subject.A carb is a carb. The research has shown that consuming different kinds of carbs doesn’t make a difference.Whether it’s high glycemic or low glycemic, or simple versus complex, the thing you need to be most concerned with is eating too many calories. The research has shown that 50 grams of calories from sugar and 50 grams of calories from sweet potatoes won’t make a difference for fat loss.So the answer to your question is: if you cut out the sugar, and don’t replace those calories with other things, then you’ll lose weight. If you do replace those calories with other things, then you’ll keep your current weight. You still shouldn’t eat sugar though.Sugar causes inflammation in the body, and inflammation can lead to all kinds of nasty disease. So stay away from the sugar as much as possible.I really can’t speak on this topic any better than Menno Henselmans already has,For your body composition, it doesn’t matter if a carb is classified as simple or complex or if it has a high or low glycemic or insulin load or index. Only the total amount of carbs in your diet matters and this only matters because carbs contain calories. For your health, the source of carbs is only relevant if you’re unhealthy. If you’re already healthy, it generally doesn’t matter. Before you go tell everyone I said it’s ok to stuff yourself with candy, please remember that this article only deals with carb sources at the level of macronutrients. Different carb sources contain not only different macros and different types of carbs, but lots of other stuff as well, notably micronutrients. I cannot stress this enough. Calories from sugar may not differ from calories from sweet potatoes, but sugar still contains empty calories, whereas sweet potatoes are packed with other stuff that’s good for your health. The sugar content and the insulin index of foods is normally irrelevant for bodybuilders. What matters is what else is in the food. In sum, a carb is a carb. From - The Science Of Nutrition: Is a Carb a Carb? Written By Menno HenselmansShould you still exercise? You should absolutely still exercise. And there are a couple of HUGE reasons for that,Exercise will make you feel better about yourself.Exercise will make it easier for you to prevent fat gain.So get to the gym man.

How does breast feeding make you lose weight?

The reason breast feeding makes you loose weight is because it takes all your nutrients and things away from your body and you are burning lots of calories to top that off you body must work hard to produce all the milk how ever if you continue to take your prenatal vitamins drink milk or something with calcium and eat right then you will not suffer from this loss of nutrients and also when you are breast feeding your stomach contracts as it did when you were in labor so it makes your stomach muscles tight somewhat like crunches and sit ups do and when you stop breast feeding if you took good care of yourself while you were feeding then you will look great not to skinny! and remember breast feeding is BEST for your baby no matter what. So in closing yes you will eventually gain the weight back after you stop breast feeding if you dont continue to do things to keep your body in shape as long as you exercise and eat right you will look great:)GOOD LUCK
