You should have a tracking number that you can check on EMS.com as well as canadapost.ca ive ordered clothing at Christmas and had it take upwards of a month but your lucky this isnt a particularily busy time of year for international shipping to canada or from china to other countries. Ive ordered alot of packages from china mostly hongkong and shanghai. Your package may leave shanghai in which case id expect it to be in canada within 2 to 3 days from the date is was shipped with ems at a storefront. If it went to hongkong first or elsewhere add at least 1 day. Once it gets to canada it will be customs thats your problem if it has any problem at all, if your lucky your not in toronto or montreal but somewhere like halifax which i know from living there has a much faster customs clearance time. If you were in vancouver it could take 7 to 30 days to clear customs and larger packages are given last priority for some strange reason. Id expect 1 to 3 days in your case to clear customs ( ive seen it as fast as the same day it arrives and often its the next day but on average id say worst case scenario 3 days). Your package may come into vancouver go to toronto and then to its final destination which can add 1 to 3 days usually 1 to 2. All together id expect it to take 1 week best case scenario and 2 weeks otherwise and i would be shocked if it took more than 3 weeks worst case scenario give or take a day or two. Even many items that originally came from Japan are now produced in China.The Chinese people are hard working quality minded individuals that have developed over the centuries a work ethic that is capable of exceeding even the most talented competitors.I am usually told to allow 5 to 8 weeks for shipments to be delivered to my door, however the average total time or time from ordering to delivery has historically been about half that stated, and much of the delay is caused in the customs department of the USA.So to give you an idea, say I received today via UPS 5 packages, of those 3 were ordered through company’s in Japan one item was ordered on the 25th of September this year and shipped on the 29th of September, I just received it today about 10:00AM mountain standard time. If you’re on the east coast then you probably will get your shipment quicker.Another item was ordered from a Chinese company on September 29th and shipped on September 29th and the both arrived here at the same time, today at 10:00 AM mountain standard time.So actually it’s been taking about two weeks, and some change. Meaning that on average maybe 15 or 16 days to get to my front door from the time I place the order.It’s a far cry from the days that any mail took six to eight months to arrive in the USA from China.

It would be a safe bet to assume that most parcels travelling from China to the US would travel by air, unless it exceeds size and weight limitations of the air carrier... a car or a refrigerator most likely wouldn't be shipped by air. Once the package arrives in the US it will go through US Customs Inspection... that could take some time depending on their workload, say a couple of days to a week. After release from US Customs, it will be dispatched to the appropriate US carrier; USPS, UPS, FEDEX, etc. That depends on the mail service you requested and paid for in China. If it is a non direct cargo, is via here and there, it may take anywhere between 14 to 21 business day or longer.
