Will My Teeth Be Stained When I Get My Braces Off

Will my teeth be stained if I've had braces for 5 years?

Braces Treatment usually is a long term treatment, Average time period for which braces stay on teeth is around 1.5 years, however few treatments can be finished in 9 months and more complex treatments may require 2.5 years. However treatment for 5 years in very unlikely and I don’t know why your braces were kept on for that long.Braces catch food and pose cleaning issues in the mouth and hence it becomes very important to clean your teeth regularly and efficiently after every meal, apart from the usual tooth brush you must also use a interdental tooth brush to clean between the wire and teeth.Due to inefficient cleaning your teeth may stain however these stains can be tackled with scaling (Professional cleaning of teeth by dentist/hygienist)More serious side-effects of inadequate cleaning during braces is White spot lesions and cavities. which may appear as stains, kindly get yourself tested for them by a dentist

I'm worried that my braces will stain my teeth!?

I have braces and I will be getting them off soon. I already know I am going to have to get them whitened.

Well the stains left from your braces are because you don't brush your teeth good. So take care to brushing and once you get em off just go to the dentist to give em a polish.
I know it is difficult to brush em real good night and day as food is easily trapped but what ya gonna do, too late for me lol

When I get my braces off, will there be yellow spots on my teeth where the braces were?

if you didnt brush good, then there will be.. hopefully you did though.. and if there are spots on your teeth, you can use certain toothpaste to get rid of them, or whiten your teeth, or see a dentist about them, etc..

Will I have stains on my teeth after I get my braces off tomorrow?

I'm getting my braces off tomorrow, and I'm really excited but kinda worried that I'm going to have marks on my teeth. I've brushed my teeth twice a day almost everyday (once or twice not because I was at a party or whatever and passed out) and used a mouthwash that shows plaque so I knew where to brush. I haven't always used the small brushes around the brackets, but I think the mouthwash worked around those bits. I've drank quite a low of diet soda and eaten sugary sweets, but I always brushed my teeth afterwards.
So yeah, is it likely I'll have marks? And if I do, is there any way of getting rid of them? Thanks :)

I’m about to get my braces off and my teeth are very yellow, what’s the best way to whiten them?

Congratulations on getting your braces off. I mean it gives really a sense of relief and a weight off your shoulders,Anyway, in most cases after getting your braces off , you usually find out that your teeth are yellow which is completely normal. This is mainly caused by stains that you were unable to remove because of those braces. The first advice I would give you is not to rush in order to whiten your teeth. That is, if you rush you may hurt your oral hygiene. You need to know what you are doing and perform any teeth whitening procedure correctly. The second thing is, if you judge that your teeth are lightly stained which means one little unnoticeable yellow/beige spot or your teeth are just a little bit yellow; Baking Soda is a good option to start with. However, as baking soda is abrasive you need to do it at the right frequency according to the sensitivity of your teeth (sensitive or not) and the state of your gums (receding or not/healthy or not really). I highly advise you to check this Baking Soda Teeth Whitening Article which will help you to perform the procedure correctly. The Third thing I would say is, if you judge that your teeth are stained in an advanced way (Sorry for my English :) ), You need to opt for some sophisticated methods. In that case there is 2 ways to approach that … The natural way and the Product oriented way (I don’t know if this expression exists in English):- For the natural way, you need to avoid all staining foods (Coffee, Alcohol, sweets …) and opt for natural foods especially those that allow saliva production like apple and carrot. Saliva plays a role of a natural mouthwash. You can even prepare some natural recipes based on things like strawberry, coconut oil … You can check this all natural teeth whitening Program, you will probably find a Full natural Solution which is also durable and risk free.- For the Product oriented way, there are some good products out there that you may use in order to get Professional results. If you want an effortless Product, you may choose a Teeth Whitening Pen which requires a twice per day use which won’t cost you more than 1 minute. You can check this teeth whitening pen and judge whether or not it is right for your case.I hope this gave you some value and a kind of a blueprint to remove that yellow color which is bothering most people nowadays.Stay Healthy.

How can I remove braces stains from my teeth?

There are different kinds of stains.First of all, did you know that those brackets are bonded to your teeth using special resines? When you have braces put, brackets are bonded to your teeth after they have bee carefully cleaned in the dental office and the enamel surface where the brackets are bonded suffers a light demineralization in order to resins used can hold the brackets attached to tooth surface.During orthodontic treatment that can last in average no less than 2 years, the enamel bellow the brackets remains protected by this interface film of resin used for bonding. So we can have some different situations that can cause those stains:- In case of poor hygienization (not brushing your teeth well) a demineralization of the part of the teeth uncovered could happen.By end of treatment when the brackets are removed, a pristine “tatoo” of enamel that was protected, may appear rounded by a more “opaque” tooth surface. This is the more difficult stain to be removed and your orthodontist can suggest the gradual remineralization of parts that are “opaque”, since a rapid remineralization using fluor could perenize those “milky” stains traping demineralized enamel under a film of fast remineralized one obtained thru fluor application. If you ingest frequntly colored drinks or foods , like some artificial juices, too much coffee, or smoke cigarettes the difficult areas to be cleaned around the brackets can show dark stains that are more easily removed by your Orthodontist or Dental Hygienist at the time of brackets removal.-Another case is if your Oral Hygiene is inadequate for excessive use of hard toothbrushes and/or abrasive toothpaste, the enamel not “protected” by the brackets suffers abrasion and after removal the covered surface can show differences of color or even look a little bit more “elevated” than surrounding area. This is a more difficult situation, but your Orthodontist also can take care of it and tends to disappear over some period of time. Most of those situations can be prevented if you visit your Orthodontist regulary and don’t loose appointments.

I've had braces for 5 years and my teeth are stained and yellow?

you'll probably have the outline of your braces once removed. there are several options to brighten your teeth.

1) the most economical is to mix peroxide with baking soda into a paste, and brush it on your teeth once a week.

2) your dentist can make molds of your teeth, and you apply a little bit of gel into the mold and wear them overnight. takes a few weeks to see good results.

3) you can zoom your teeth with UV light. that's what the movie stars get - so be warned; it is expensive. what they do is apply a gel to your teeth, and use a laser light to brighten your teeth. not for people with overly sensitive teeth.

ive tried all three, but have yet to try crest whitestrips. you might want to consider that option as well. dont wait till your braces are off to begin taking care of your teeth because forming a good habit is the most important part of oral hygeine.

I just got my braces off, and my teeth are all yellow.?

the crest white strips give me extra sensitive teeth. i used the brush on stuff you wear to bed. it sounds bad, like it would be annoying, but its not at all!!! and you dont have to smile for 5 minutes before it dries. it takes about 30 seconds if that, give it a try! its less expensive then the strips and i had NO sensitivity with them! :)

After you get your braces off, are your teeth generally discolored?

A year ago I got got my braces off and they were all yellow even though i brushed a lot.
