Will Ps4 Have This Feature Gamers Only

Will Xbox One be better than the PS4?

So if you guys watched the reveal of the new xbox, you'd know some things about it. Basically, it can play music (so can my phone), it can play movies (so can a dvd player), it has internet (so does my computer), and its voice activated which is pretty cool but honestly, whose that lazy that they can't go to something on the dashboard by just using the controller.

So the unneeded social aspect has been upgraded but the gaming aspect is still hazy. This is a gaming console, gamers don't need internet and facebook on a xbox. The xbox wont always be on which is good but some games, depending on the developers, may require you have internet connection. And thats where they lose half their customers. Microsoft is already going under because of Apple.. they cant start to get too greedy.

As far as I can see, I may go with the PS4, because its more about gaming and not about socializing, and not to mention will be much much cheaper to own. I don't know how microsoft thinks that non gamers are going to buy an xbox becuase it has the internet, skype, and a blue ray dvd player. If PS4 makes the price just right and doesn't screw it up like last time, I think that they will win over alot of people from xbox. Thats just my opinion. And as far as everyone can tell from today, the new xbox probably wont allow you to play used games. The only thing good about that is that Gamestop, who are greedier than EA or xbox, will take a huge hit from this.

ps. I own a 360, not a ps3, so I'm not bias.

Does the PS4 have any feature like the Origin Access?

Saravanan S.R's answer to What would be a better buy, an XBOX One or the latest PlayStation, considering pricing, prevention against getting obsolete soon, and the one having better action games?

How can the PlayStation 4 (PS4) allow you to play games while they're still downloading?

In addition to the technique Mikhael Belanger mentions, they could leverage the cloud-streaming technology. This is a technology I don't think they explained that well, but is looks like it will be very impressive -- like onlive but with what appears to be a ton of polish... Hopefully it works brilliantly when it hits the tubes. The gist is, the game runs on their billion dollar server farm, and just video is streamed to you. You input to the controller and it sends it back to the farm to process and send you the next frame of animation. In practice, OnLive would often resemble a YouTube video on a slow connection... But it's an interesting trade-off in that you have infinite processing power for an occasional drop-off in fidelity. That's OnLive, but this will be Gaikai and Sony. Hopefully they're really drilling down to reduce this latency... It was reassuring to me that they called out the need to build the fastest gaming network ever. And apparently Gaikai has set a world record for something like that.Consider me excited for PS4. (Wish they woulda rethought the name, but at least it's not "WiiU")

What features does the PS4 have that the Xbox One doesn't and vice versa?

I know some, and what I list below for each console means the other doesn't have it.Xbox One has:Rumble Trigger (the triggers have vibration motor)Offset thumbsticks design (more ergo, IMO)HDMI-in, for cable TV box or another consoleIntegrated EPG for cable TV (TV schedule)Kinect rich features (just say Xbox, On to your Xbox with Kinect)Snap, so you can watch TV, open another app, or skype video call with your friendsSupport for external HDD for game libraryPlaystation 4 has:Gamepad speakerGamepad lightbarGamepad motion control (accelerometer + gyroscope)Playstation Now (PS3 game streaming, you may rent "some" PS3 game via Playstation Network)SharePlay (you can let your friend playing watch you play your PS4, give the controller to your friend, or do "remote" "local multiplayer")Cross play with PS3/PS Vita (some games only)AR studio (via The Playroom - need PS camera)Capability to change internal HDD (no support for external HDD for game library)Better GPU-RAMList may be updated sometimes in the future.

Can I play a game in a PS4 offline?

Yes, you can. Unless it has an online activation process.

Can you install PS4 games offline just by using discs?

So the most simple answer is yes.PlayStation 4 is more closely related to the PlayStation 3 with a PC style setup running in the background. One thing to remember when addressing this topic is that not everyone has internet. As cheap and reliable as internet has become these days a chunk/huge portion of America is still not using internet. Shockingly, Microsoft STILL don’t realize this enough to quit pushing digital gaming for consoles.Sony, & Nintendo still do a lot of things physical, it’s the nature of Japan’s antics. So with that being said a lot of games are packaged and ready to have an install file as soon as the disc is put in.Some games will straight up install a small package for confirmation of owning the disc and small data package file that allows the game to be opened.Other games require an online key, this means you require some form of network access so Sonys’ servers can approve you own it and apply a proper update.Technically if it’s a game you know that doesn’t require much online then you’re set to go, if it’s got some form or access to the internet it may need an update.

Why is PS4 so overrated?

The DRM policies left a major stain on the public image of Microsoft. Despite removing them and adopting similar policies like Sony, it doesn't quite remove that stain and unless you're too deluded, those policies will always be in the shadows, potentially being rolled out over the life cycle of the Xbox One. While Sony also did have patents for DRM, it's only speculation - driven by Xbox fans - they were ever going to be put in place. Instead, Sony's approach to the next generation of gaming has created a positive image for gamers.

Features, for me personally, will never affect my choice of console. I have a fairly well built PC so most of the features are already available to me. However, what is important is the hardware. Despite Sony's horrible launch with hardware issues, the reality is it's only a few hundred out of a million day one sales and they're issues I hope will be fixed by the time I'm ready to buy mine. Microsoft never fixed the Red Ring of Death which makes me wonder why Xbox fans have heavily criticized the PS4. Furthermore, the console's hardware has 30% less power and current launch titles are maxed natively at 900p, not full 1080p.

Kinect is a feature that people will use and get the most of when they get the console but soon after, its only use will be face-recognition (PS4 has it) and for Skype. The voice commands will hardly be used unless you're incredibly lazy.

Lastly, their approach to the console is ridiculous. Far too much attention has been placed on what the console can do, what you can watch, the applications available yet they ignored what the console, at its core, is: A gaming machine. They've restricted the ability for self-publishing and most who have Steam will tell you it's the future of gaming. Two of the highest rated PS4 launch titles are indie games, something many shot down and laughed at.

Overall, the PS4 might have a weaker launch, but it's overall a long-term investment much like the PS3. I recall being bored with my PS3 launch but I'm incredibly glad I stuck with it considering the masterpieces such as Puppeteer, the Uncharted 2 and 3, The Last of Us, Resistance 3, Heavy Rain, Journey etc and with the addition of indie developers being funded by Sony, alongside self-publishing, the long-term future of the PS4 is incredibly bright and that's why so many people are excited.

Game similar to Project: Spark but on PS4?

So I believe Project: Spark will only be an XBox One title. But in the 2 hour PS4 reveal they showed off a feature using the 'controller wand things' (idk what they're called) that made a bunch of characters and seemed to have the ability to make games... just like Project: Spark.

Will the PS4 have any type of game, or ability to create characters, or maps, or entire games, similar to Project: Spark?

PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 games compatibility?

Simple answer: The PS4 can only play PS4 games. It cannot play PS3, PS2 or PS1 games.

More details: P4 cannot play PS3/PS2/PS1 digital games or retail games, but *CAN* play games available through PS Now. PS Now is a separate subscription service that uses streaming technology to stream game play to your Playstation or Smart TV. You need a VERY fast internet connection or else the game will lag. Currently PS Now supports mainly PS3 games but a few PS4 titles have also started to show up. No word on PS2 or PS1 games.

As for other Playstations, the PS3 can play PS1 games, either retail discs, or "PSOne Classics" from the store. Earlier models of the PS3 could play PS2 games as well but that feature was dropped about a year after the PS3 came out. This was a change in the PS3's hardware, so it's not simply adding an emulator to the PS3. The PS2 could play almost all PS1 games - disc only. There was no real online service for the PS2.

Tips for you: ONLY buy games that are for the PS4. Some PS2 and PS3 games have been remastered for the PS4, such as Final Fantasy XII (originally a PS2 game.) Remastered games feature higher-resolution graphics and sometimes some changes to gameplay over the original. Meanwhile some games were released for both the PS3 and PS4, such as the Rayman game you listed above. In this case, the game looks and plays (nearly) identically on both consoles. There is no purpose to buy the PS3 version since you don't have a PS3, however.
