Will Running Cross Country Get Me A Flat Stomach

Will doing cross country make me lose too much weight and look too skinny?

So I'm a 17 year old girl with a very high/fast metabolism. My body is starting to get a bit thicker and I'm glad because I've always been very skinny. However, I am debating on whether to do cross country. We will be doing about 3-5 mile races. We will practice and run lots everyday in the hot hot hot sun. I live in Arizona so it's in the high 90's-100's degree temps here still. I'm planning on buying protein and all that. Will it make me lose lots of weight? Or give me some good tone? I have a tiny little pouch like bump on my belly so I'm skinny but my belly isnt flat! /: looks weird from the side, like a tiny baby bump or something. Will running get rid of it? I just don't think I will do it if I'll be losing tons of weight and look too skinny. I'm 5' 3" and weight about 115. Please tell me what it will do to my body and what kind of protein and what else I should eat/drink/take to maintain weight and get tone and thicker. Thanks!

Will running cross country get me a flat stomach?

A lot of the cardio that you're going to do will burn a lot of fat, yes. However, eating write is often the hardest and difficult part for people. I suggest going on Google and searching the right things to eat when you're a long distance runner. (Or when you're just trying to lose belly fat in general.) I've been told carbohydrates are good for runners because of the energy you're going to need, but there's a fine line people cross between enough and too many.

What will cross country running do to my body?

Hey, It's great that you want to run Cross Country! It's such a fun sport. Well for starters, the first week of practice will probably be the worst. Because your body is still not used to these running conditions. If you wake up in the morning feeling stiff, don't worry it's normal. I had it, for about a week and a half. But everyone is different. You will gain very strong legs and abs. I know what you're probably thinking, abs? Yes, abs. You need abdominal strength to conquer those hills. If you want to for more muscle do some crunches, side crunches, planks, superman, six inches, scissors, jackknife, etc. If you have some gym equipment in your house that's a plus. Do some working out on there. Mostly your legs. If you have weights lift them too for tone and definition on your arms and back. I'm kinda weak so I use 5lbs while everyone else uses like 8 or 10. I never really had a strong upper body. You will most likely loose your love handles and your waistline will be tight and fit. Most of the guys on Cross Country have 6 packs and skinny legs. The girls have flat stomachs and nice legs. Make your hips wider? lol, never heard that one.

Have fun, Good Luck, & Don't Stress!
It will come!

Will I get a six pack in cross country?

You gotta dump the junk food, fast food garbage & sugary sweet soda's, too, Bubba!
Nike seems to lead the way for running shoes.
You cannot rush things trying to get a 6 pack. It will take a little time.
Ten years down the road, when you no longer have the time nor energy to devote to working out - those same 6 pack abs begin to head SOUTH & will probably end up looking like 'hanging baskets', anyway.
Don't worry about stuff you have no control over.

Running 15 miles on a cross trainer.....?

Perhaps the K means 24.6 kilowatts, meaning how much energy you are using at the moment to go a consistant speed?

24.6kilometers seems a bit outrageous to me if you have been on it for an hour. The fastest mile ever recorded is 3:43, and you are running 15 4:00 miles in a row? Unless you are an olympic record runner trying your hardest on a cross trainer I would be doubtful of the machine.

If i have a flat stomach but no definition how long can it take me to get a six pack?

If you never worked out your abs before it will take months to get a six pack, its not easy at all. Your body fat percentage also has to be low so you can actually see your ab muscles. If you drop the fast food and start eating healthy + include a protein rich diet you will be on your way to your goal.

Will running give me a thigh gap?

My legs aren't exactly fat, my thighs do this thing though were they curve and meet right at the top and I want to get rid of that and have a thigh gap? Will running help with that?
