Will Scratches And Minor Dents Void My Iphone 4

Will scratches and minor dents void my iPhone 4's warranty?

Yesterday I called apple because my lock screen button had been pushed in, I was told that as long as it hadn't been dropped, which it hadn't, that it should be replaced at the spot but I'd have to bring it into an apple store. Now what's worrying me is that there is a few scratches around my lock button because I used to like wearing long acrylic nails and using them to take debris out of in between the button. Will this void my warranty in any way?

Is a single hairline crack on an iPhone covered under warranty?

Apple's official policy on hairline cracks is that they are covered under the following conditions: A single hairline crack or single hairline crack with a forked split (a crack that has split into two cracks. The iPhone is under warranty. The iPhone has no other damage to the glass or enclosure. No denting or drop damage. Anything else is not covered.  Apple official support guidelines for damage classification. Anything in the green is covered under warranty at no cost. Anything under orange is covered under AppleCare+ with a deductible or with an out of warranty cost. Anything in red is not eligible for repair.

What do you think of smartphone pouches versus cases? By pouch I mean full inside/enclosed, and by case I mean just the back/sides.

Adding a new angle to the discussion:I feel that a phone (just like any other piece of industrial design) looks better without any accessories, just as it was intended to be by its engineers. That doesn't mean people should not personalize/protect/customize their devices however. That bing said, the manufacturer should be the ultimate authority to decide what best fits with each device in terms of usability, features and aesthetics too.A few years ago, I bought a (white) Nokia E71 and to my surprise, the package included a sturdy white leather pouch which was a "natural fit" for that phone. No need to look further away than the shipping box.Coming back to 2014 smart phones, one needs neither a case nor a screen protector as the devices are designed to withstand regular usage. If you have to buy a case/pouch however, make a small list of how you use your phone on a daily basis and see what would be best in terms of usability primarily and then in terms of design and other features (you don't need an otterbox case unless you switch off the lights by throwing your phone at the light bulbs).

Does T-mobile insurance cover cracked screens?

Here’s the detailed information, with the gotchyas:File or Track My ClaimThe biggest gotchya is the deductible. The more expensive the phone, the higher it is.You can look yours up here:My Deductible | T-Mobile | Assurant SolutionsAn iPhone 7, $175An Alcatel ONETOUCH Fierce XL $50So, the problem you have is that for an expensive phone, it’s cheaper to pay for the repair yourself than the deductible. For a cheap phone, it’s probably better to buy a used replacement. All the insurance is really good for is when your phone is lost or damaged so much it’s unusable, in which case they’re basically just selling you a refurb phone for $175.When you look at the cost of 2 years of Device Protection, $240, plus the deductible, $175, you’re up to $415. That’s half the cost of a brand new phone, or the cost of a pretty decent used one.Makes more sense for all but the most damage prone people to buy a $15 case, pay for minor repairs themselves, and buy a brand new phone if they drop or destroy theirs.AppleCare and Google Device Protection are better deals:AppleCare+ - iPhone - AppleDevice Protection Plan - Google StoreFor other phones, assuming there’s not a better manufacturer plan available, SquareTrade might be an option:Cell Phone Insurance - Cell Phone Warranty - Cellphone InsuranceThe thing to keep in mind with AppleCare/Google Protection/SquareTrade is that that they don’t cover loss/theft. SquareTrade also has a lower payout maximum.
