I'm not sure she “resigned” per se. If so, it was in any case fairly routine. Most Cabinet positions are either officially or unofficially considered “open” if a President is reelected, and no particular shame attaches to those who are replaced (although obviously it could well mean the President wasn't thrilled with the official in question, since many Cabinet officials do stay on--Rumsfeld, Janet Reno, Eric Holder…). In particular, the last Secretary of State to serve more than one presidential term was Shultz, under Reagan. Bill Clinton, W Bush, and Obama each had a different Secretary of State for each of their two terms.That said, we can speculate that Obama likely felt obliged to name Hillary either his running mate or Secretary of State (the most prestigious Cabinet position) due to the very close primary race in 08. In his second term, Obama picked two Senators he (and Biden) had been in the same committee with and had forged a good personal relationship with for top posts, Kerry for State and Chuck Hagel (who obviously ended up not working out) for Defense. So Obama likely saw reelection as an opportunity to build a Cabinet more to his liking and less constrained by political consideration. For her part, Hillary probably didn't want to be Secretary of State while she was running for President, and resigning in the middle of the second term might've looked awkward, whereas early 2013 would feel very natural. So, probably everyone was happy, more or less.
How do you get your Honorable Discharge certificate when you get discharged from the Army?
I sepertaed from the Army about a year ago and I just found out, from another recentlcy seperated Veteran , that they mail you the certificate (and a flag I believe), that they are suppose to mail it to you.Does anyone know who I can contact in order to get the certificate? Also that they is a website that you can go to get all of your ribbions (with your name on them) mailed to you, but he cannot remember the site.Does anyone know that site? Please Help!! I have "Honorable Discharge" on my DD214 , but I would be more than Honored to have a certificate, from the Army ,on my wall. Thanks and God Bless P.S. - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont give a bull anwser! Why does John Kerry claim that his kids and grandkids will have a difficult world because of Trump?
For one thing, in spite of Republican’s claim of fiscal responsibility, for the first time in US history, they passed trillion dollar deficits for years to come IN GOOD ECONOMIC TIMES! That debt will be repaid by kids and grandkids in the form of either (A) higher taxes, (B) MUCH fewer services, and/or (C) a much lower standard of living. Trump signed off on the tax cut that is the cause of that problem.

Those Republicans have nothing else as their platform other than making Obama appear the villain in order to win in November. Just as Romney does when he speaks in public, they invent a fictional narrative and because most people dont look into what this Admin has been doing, they believe it because it is easier than finding the truth. You could list a hundred more things and the Republicans will twist things around to still make the President look inadequate. The Republicans always have a very good well paid team of media consultants, psychologists, and other tricky means for skewing information. Look at the masterful job they did with John Kerry in the Vietnam ad. My favorite is the Improper Payments bill which stops automatic contractor duplication of payments and ends millions in wasteful payments. They are in the process of being addressed and the Republicans have no solutions that are any better, thats the point. It will take a few more years to undo the damage to the country from the first 8 years of this century.
