How long do semi-permanent highlights last?
salon stuff lasts longer, but they all fade eventually. It really depend son how often you wash your hair, do you swim in a pool, are you outside often. The sun and chemicals do a lot of damage to your hair, the more you expose yourself to them, the more likely your color will fade faster.

yeah, its not that your 13, believe me when i was younger roughly your age i had highlights. I wouldnt reccoment it as it damages your hair leaving it weakend and more vulnrable to certain things. Perminent dye: Perminent dye does last ages and nice but its the most damage you could do to your hair, plus you would have to keep on dying it as the hair grows and the roots will show through after a while which is VERY expensive. Non perminent: Its good but still some damage done, and once dyed it wont be the colour it used to be unless you try and make it fade quick or let it grow out. But i wouldnt reccomend them, if u did dye your hair i would reccomend non perminent as it is less harmful to your hair as it doesnt contain ammonium in it..... Hope this helped :)

Hi Diane. Yes you can use a semi or demi hair colour on bleached hair. The only thing is, it will no longer act like a temporary colour. On the open, unprotected shaft of the hair, the temporary colour becomes permanent. Any colour is conditioning to you hair, not damaging. Just remember that it will grab faster than the stated development time you are given in the instructions. You have to move quickly with the colour and cover the hair length first leave the ends for last. Check often. You don't want to be left with buildup on your ends. Hi world. Im looking for a straight forward answer regarding dying my hair using demi permanent hair color. I dyed it once already 5 days ago. It seems to be fading off already and is turning my once pumpkin blonde highlights a gross hue of green. I don't want to damage my hair given my hair is extremely fine and damaged as it is. I have blonde highlights and im using darkest brown semi permanent hair dye by Ion to darken my hair, if I leave it on for over 2 hours, will it hurt my hair in any way or make the color more intense? it says to leave on my hair for 25 minutes on the instructions ...
Can you use semi-permanent blonde dye on mousy brown hair?
Semi-permenants and demi permenants can only darken hair as they colour on top of your natural hair colour not remove any to make it lighter, they also do not pernetrate the inside of the hair making them less damaging. Permenant non-blonde hair dyes blend onto your natural hair colour which is what makes it permenant, they enter inside of your hair and in order to do so they must damage the hair to get in like breaking a lock without a key, this is why they are more damaging than semis and demis. To go lighter you must bleach it, which is lightening hair. I will explain why in detail: Black hair has the most amount of pigment, colour in it. Blue-dark-brown-brown-reddish brown-red-red orange-orange-gold-yellow-pale yellow and lastly white. Lighter hair colours have less layers of colour brown is: brown-reddish brown-red-red orange-orange-gold-pale yellow-yellow and lastly white. Blonde has even less: gold-yellow-pale yellow and white You see the lighter the hair colour the less layers of colour there are! Think of the hair colours as layers like onions, they can be peeled away to remove colour to a lighten it, and have layers added on to darken it. This is why lightening hair is always permenant until you dye it a darker colour. If you want something temporary, i.e. Washes out straight away, you can google blonde hair mascaras, they work just like mascaras! I would not recommend permenant dye or bleaching because they damage your hair and there is a lot of upkeep in having to dye new growth, they can easily go wrong and they are permenant! Good luck!

They say wait atleast 6 weeks. I have colored over my colored hair the very next day and my hair was fine. Being as it was only a semi-permanent. I don't think it will damage your hair.
