Will Taking A Laxative Reduce The Size Of My Stomach

Is there a way to effectively reduce the size/hardness of stool?

Yes, the bowels you described are common. But I understand the need to relieve the discomfort.

You need more fiber in your diet. Fiber helps break down the foods you eat. The more junk food you eat, the more fiber you will need. Try eating mini wheats, cheerios, or oatmeal, maybe not every day, but at least once a week. Basically, anything with whole grains has fiber in it.

Also, drink more water. Alot of people don't drink enough and that can have an effect on your stool as well.

If you are feeling constipated, try some chocolate for temporary relief. Castor oil works well too. Just don't take those kind of laxatives too much, or you will end up malnourished.

Muscle Size and taking Laxatives?

I'm pretty built. Have a decent amount of muscle on me and I just started doing a really good ab workout. I also go to the gym almost every day with breaks.

Now I do have a little bit of a belly on top of my abs that i'm trying to reveal so I'm thinking taking laxatives for a week ONLY just to lower my stomach size and clean out the intestines. (I also have been eating a lot of fruits and veggies b/c I heard that helps)

Question issssss....will it make me loose muscle mass/size in my arms, chest, legs, back, etc?

If i take laxatives tonight will i be thinner for tomorrow?

I would love to tell you that if you took the laxatives, you would be thinner tomorrow. But unfortunately, I cannot. I have tried before, with the same problems too, bloating, and eating alot of food, and that guilt gets to me, especially when I wanted to look good for an occassion. Took the laxatives, and I, dangit, looked the same. So, it really does not help, if at all. If you really wanted to look a little more slender, you can hop on the treadmill, go walking.. do something active that will work out your body to loosen up. I'm not saying the slenderness will be BAM there after 20 minutes on a treadmill, I'm just saying that it might help relieve the bloating. It's worked for me =]

How long does it take for the stomach to shrink when dieting?

Technically speaking, the stomach doesn't "shrink", however the stomach is a muscle organ just like any other muscle and when people eat a lot, it expands to take in the food you take, ever feel like you can't move after eating too much is the effect you get. Think of the stomach like a rubber ball that expands and reduces. When you start limiting your food consumption, your stomach does not need to work to strech to take in the food, so it gets used to the amout of food you eat. In other words, your body simply adjusts just like your stomach does to your eating habits. It only stretches when your body is eating more, but then it contracts again once you are done eating. You can't permantly change the size of your stomach, not unless you want surgery like gastro where they seal a part of your stomach. To answer you question of how long does it take, it takes a few weeks depending on your body, just like noticing weight loss takes a few weeks. No matter what kind of change happens, when it comes to your body it takes time, that doesn't mean though that you won't start noticing changes within a few days or a week. But it does take time. Personally for me, i notice after a good couple of weeks, but you have to be consistent with your portions, you can't eat barely nothing for a couple of days and eat a buffet the next, but if you are consistent, the change will happen much faster and gradually, and your body will adjust without feeling some sort of deprivation. The body likes to be balanced and anything radical usually screws up the body system, and doesn't last long because your body reacts to these changes. It has to be progressive so that your body learns. Its not simply a mechanism of the stomach, but of the mind and brain, your brain will tell you that you are full, rather than your mind telling you just to eat because you should. IF you consciously think about your portions, and start to establish a structuralized method, your brain will start picking up on it, and signal that to the body. A perfect example of this is your biological clock, with people who wake up at a certain time everyday, they have trained themselves so much that they do it automatically...its along the same line with hunger and portion control....hope it helps...sorry it was long...but it wanted to try to simplify something that is complex because it really intertwines with the body system rather than just one single entity.

Laxative dependent?? HELP?

to start of I'm 13 and I get constipated easily and my parents know i have stomach problems but thats all they know.

so lately I've been barely eating than normal but I still eat but im trying to loose a few pounds like 10 or less and im really constipated like if i try to poop its like nothing comes out. This goes on for a week and then I take 3-4 laxatives.

my parents dont know i take laxatives and i hide them from them. I've taken them only 4 times in a 3 month time spam but now I cant poop without them!!!

Last sunday I took 4 laxatives and they worked so i told myself no more laxatives. but then a week goes by and I dont poop and i freak out and I dont want to tell my parents so I took 4 laxatives last night and they worked this morning.

Well im scared i messed up my body because when i try to poop its like i dont have a butthole because its tight and when i push it just stays closed.

What do i do!!!??? i want to be back to normal and never use laxatives again because i know the dangers of them. So my questions are:

1. what do i eat that will help me the most to poop without laxatives?

2. how long till i can poop normally because I go a week without pooping without laxatives?

3. whats the longest I should stay constipated (like go without pooping) during fixing my body from the laxatives so i can poop normally again until i tell my mom

thank you and please help me im scared
