Will The Iphone 5 And 4s Price Drop Around The Announcement Or The Actual Release Of The 5s And 5c

I am planning to buy an iPhone 5s after the price hopefully drops a bit more after September 2015. Will I be able to use it for 3 years without it becoming a hunk of junk?

You can always go for the iPhone 5S.When I say this, I disregard any rumors about future iPhones. Just talk about iPhone 5S instead. The future of iOS is 64bit. The iPhone 5S is a 64bit phone. The iPhone 5 and the 5C would become obsolete after iOS 9 but the iPhone 5S would stay on the roll for longer.Another factor is of it becoming laggy and unstable. There is a very important change of technique which Apple has adopted this year. Until iOS 8, they used to make a full fledged OS for their flagship model and subsequently strip down some features for compatibility with older, less powerful devices. iOS 9 onwards, they will make the most basic OS, and then add features for newer and more powerful devices. You might have noticed Apple mentioning that iOS 9 is going to be the smallest update in terms of the space it takes up. This is also the reason why we are going to see iOS 9 on the iPod 5th Generation and the iPhone 4S which were earlier thought by many to be getting obsolete after iOS 8. Both of them have mere A5 chips. So, back to the 5S. It is fast with the A7 chip. It also has the Motion coprocessor going along. It is 64bit. From what I expect it would run good with iOS 10 as well and might or might not receive the iOS 11, but would still run great because of the new lighter OSes.I have a 64GB iPhone 6 running iOS 9 Public Beta 3 which I find to be smoother than the iOS 8.4 I had before.Prior the the iPhone 6, I had an iPhone 5S and mostly I didn't notice much of a performance difference. It was just as fast.If you are going to buy a 5S, you better make it quick before the 32GB and the 64GB versions are all sold out, because in my honest opinion you shouldn't buy an iPhone with a capacity as little as 16GB unless you are a very light user.

Does the Iphone price drop during the announcment or release?

The price will drop when the announcement is made. Pre-orders will begin shortly after the announcement, even though, the iPhone 5S and 5C may not be available for another week. Because per-orders will begin soon after the announcement, the price of the older, iPhone 5 will drop when the announcement is made.

Its likely, that the iPhone 4S will be discontinued, to make room for the new iPhone 5C. Apple wants to discontinue all products that use the older 30pin adapter, in favor of the newer lightning port. Since the iPhone 4S has this older adapter, its likely to be replaced by the 5C.

This means, there will be a 5, 5C and 5S, all of which will feature both the larger 4.1" screen and the smaller 8pin lightning adapter. The 5S, will be the superior of the three available iPhone, with a much faster processor, thinner design, improved screen and better camera. The 5C, will be similar to the iPhone 5, but will feature a plastic case, instead of glass.

It is rumored, that the iPhone 6, which will be released next year, will have a 4.8" screen. So, you may want to decide if you want to wait for a larger screen, before upgrading. However, the 4.1" screen is considerably larger than the older 3" screen found on your iPhone 4. All new iPhones, being released, this year, will come with iOS 7.

Best of luck. :-)

When is the release date of iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s in India? What will be the pricing in India?

If I buy an iPhone 5S now, how long it will continue to get official iOS updates?

The iPhone 5S first shipped in 2013, which makes it a 3 year old piece of hardware for now. Apple generally supports upto 5 year old hardware as we saw for iPhone 4S. So, you can ensure yourself of 2 years worth of updates.Even after that period though, the iPhone is not unusable or slow as most android phones tend to become with age. I have an 8 year old iPod Touch 4th Generation, running iOS 6 and it still works as smoothly as it ran the day I got it. The message here lies, is that the iPhone 5S is still a good buy.But my recommendation to you would be to put it a little more budget and get an iPhone SE, if you're thinking of buying. It is one of the newest iPhones, packing iPhone 6S hardware in the body of the 5S. For the size capability, it is powerful and will ensure an updatability of at least 4 years, maybe even more.

How much will the iPhone 5S cost?

I agree with Logan, however, there is a new rumor, that the iPhone 4S will be discontinued and will be replaced by the iPhone 5C.

Apple wants to switch all their devices over to the new lightning port. The 4S, still uses the old 30pin port. Its likely, that the 5C, will be comparable to the 4S, but will feature both a 4.1" screen and a lightning port.

If these rumors are true, then the iPhone 5C, may be either free, or $100 with a 2-year contract, depending on the carrier.

The truth is, we just don't know what will happen, until the new iPhone is announced on September 10th. All of this is speculation, until the formal announcement. In-fact, we don't know if the iPhone will be released on September 10th, or just announced on September 10th. The actual release date may be later.

It is fair to assume, that the iPhone 5S will cost the same as the iPhone 5 did, when it was released. This has, always, been the case, with previous releases.

It should be noted, that if you are a Verizon customer, with an grandfathered-in unlimited data plan, you do not qualify for the subsidized pricing. Apple made a deal with Verizon, when the iPhone 5 was released, that if you want to keep the unlimited data plan, you must pay the full-retail price of the iPhone. If you are willing to loose your unlimited data plan and switch to the tiered data plan you can get the subsidized rate, but you will forfeit your right to unlimited data.

Here are the actual, unsubsidized prices of an iPhone

16GB - $649
32GB - $749
64GB - $849

Its likely the unsubsidized iPhone 5C would cost either $449 or $549. Its likely, the iPhone 5 will start at $549. Another reason people may buy an unsubsidized iPhone is either if they don't want a contract, or if they want an unlocked iPhone. An unlocked iPhone will allow you to use your iPhone on multiple carriers, including while traveling overseas.

Best of luck. :-)
