Will The Left Credit Global Warming As The Cause Of Ebola

What are the main causes of poverty in Uganda?

There really isn’t a special kind of poverty in Uganda. It is the same kind of poverty that poor people experience the world over. The poverty that is generated by, among others:A poor attitudeLack of opportunity judgementEnvironment (hostile environment, natural calamities, etc)Illiteracy and ignoranceWrong choices (in terms of education, family size, spouse type, career type, lifestyle, etc)Family historyReligion and superstitionBad leadershipThese and more others may conspire to drag many people along the path of poverty wherever they live, including Uganda. There is thus no brand of Ugandan poverty.

Jehovah Witnesses, why do you say things are getting worse when wars are lessened, diplomacy is better, life is better, etc..?

Statistically war is at an all time low, diplomacy between nations is better than it use to be, life in most nations is better, etc... I mean any historian will tell you compared to almost any period of time in the past we are better off. All I have been reading in the Watchtower in the last 15 years or so is the opposite. Is this just propaganda to create fear?

Bacteria and viruses were almost successful in wiping out humanity back in the olden days, but how did that change?

Antibiotics and vaccines have been two of the most significant medical advances in history, saving literally millions of lives and preventing untold misery for millions more. Historically, the Black Death - Wikipedia in Europe and the devastation caused to Native American populations by introduced infectious disease Native American disease and epidemics - Wikipedia illustrate starkly the enormous lethal effects of bacteria and viruses, killing around 50% of the populations. Smallpox was a particular killer in North America, and has now been wiped off the face of the planet by a worldwide vaccination program. Polio will soon be extinct as well, for the same reason Poliomyelitis eradication - Wikipedia More recently, the development of antiviral drugs - the virus equivalent of antibiotics - has also saved millions of lives HIV/AIDS - Wikipedia. We must always be aware, however, of the dangers of complacency. We see this repeatedly - in the credit crunch when many bankers refused to acknowledge a problem even existed until they were told ATMs were going to be empty “next week”. Similarly, the HIV catastrophe happened at a time when diseases like polio were something only grandparents talked about and no-one had any experience of epidemics. The disaster was well underway by the time society in general woke up to the fact, as described in And the Band Played On - Wikipedia.

What were the most notable accomplishments made by Barack Obama during his presidency?

I give President Obama, and just about any other President, a difficult time because a lot of their decision making, makes little sense to me but I can speak highly of any President I'm versed on, and yes, the includes President Obama.President Obama has made achievements that transverse across a few areas including:1. The ACA, or the Affordable Healthcare Act, which basically expanded healthcare coverage via public and private initiatives and mandates.2. He managed, with a bit of assistance from his predecessor, to navigate the US out of a recession.3. In concert with other parties, he orchestrated the US to address the Ebola crisis in a responsible way.4. Via executive order, he has helped hundreds of thousands of "illegal immigrants" to not only stay here in the US, but by pushing the DREAM Act to let them get an affordable college education.5. Though its not his policy directly, he did withdraw US troops from Iraq. That's up for debate rather he did it or even if it was a gold thing to leave.6. He Presided over a period in which all Americans have the right to marry. While that's an action of the Supreme Court, I'll still score it as a victory for President Obama.7. He managed, in concert with our UN partners, to bring the earth together for true dialogue on climate change.8. The Iranian Nuclear Deal, need I say more?9. Once again, not a direct result of his policies, but under his reign the US has become the largest or second largest oil producer on earth. This is important because its been a message within American politics to always say "make the US energy independent" and well, we're definitely moving that direction rather one is pro oil or not.10. He restored US relations with Cuba, and will be the first President in nearly nine decades to visit Cuba next month.Admittedly so, this was a difficult list to come up with off the top of my head and the order of this list doesn't suggest the importance of the accomplishment.Best,Demetrius Hicks

What animal(s) can theoretically drive humans to extinction if given the chance?

Some have had the chance, but the attacks have died out before extinction. I don’t think that any one animal can actually do the driving of us to extinction, but that doesn’t mean they won’t keep trying. My vote for animal most likely to drive humans extinct is the mosquito. They are almost everywhere. I imagine there are none native to Antarctica, and maybe none in the Great Erg, but with global warming, who knows? It may warm up and get wet enough to support them. They just need some water in the spring for their evil spawn to hatch. They are already the leading killer in the world, according to Bill Gates:Yes, by transmitting malaria, the lowly mosquito is even more deadly than the wiley homo sapien, which has developed many adaptations to counter the defenses of his fellow human. My second choice for living extinction vector:No, not weird blueberries with purple stalks. This is Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). MRSA is called a “Super Bug,” but it’s no more virulent than regular Staphylococcus, it’s just harder to treat. The rise of MRSA has been pinned on many things, from over-prescription of antibiotics, to antibiotic handsoap. I can’t say, but if we start running out of more antibiotics that simple infections are resistant to, we will become increasingly screwed. There aren’t 7-billion people on earth right now just because we’re horny - we’re here because we’re not dying at the rate we used to back in day before modern medicine.

Is the human race doomed to self-destruction due to overpopulation, climate change and nuclear war, or is there still a hope?

That is the consensus of a growing number of scientists. Overpopulation prevents us from doing the kinds of things that might ameliorate AGW, such as setting land aside for forests (we need all arable land for human food production), and nuclear war becomes more likely with each day that poor countries cannot feed their citizens. Those days become more frequent as AGW pushes temperatures past the point where food plants can photosynthesize. The Cassandra problemi think we have at best a 5% chance of avoiding climate collapse and human extinction, and that’s only if we begin working on it TODAY. And in the US we have a problem in that the party controlling all our government doesn’t believe it’s happening. Absent a revolution, the government cannot be constitutionally ‘flipped’ for almost four years. And the opposition party, which can pull up the right bromides on global warming on cue, have done almost nothing to save the environment—Obama signed lots of oil leases and talked about ‘clean coal’.Let me put the question back to YOU. What are YOU willing to do, understanding that individual action can’t fix things (change your lightbulbs and recycle all you want, it won’t help). If people are convinced we are going to go extinct under the current leadership, what do they want to undertake? Are you ready for revolution? You say you wanna revolution?

How long before all humans are dead?

the rising sea levels, 20 metres to come and the desertification of the land and spiraling radiation from the dying protective blanket of our poluted atmosphere and poisened oceans the increasing hatred of men for all men, how long we got???
