Why do so many people hate 2010 nightmare on elm street?i dont get how people could hate a near perfect film?

i guess people just hate the thought of remakes and make themselves think it was bad. and the people who hate it because they are 30 and like the original cuz its what they first saw need to stop being old people and get into the times. the old one was cheezy and laughable. the new one was great! : )

Nightmares?

Please tell your mother not to let him watch movies like that anymore. I wouldn't even let my oldest child watch something like that. There's a reason movies are rated the way that they are. And please don't give him Benadryl to make him sleep! Medications can have some horrible side-effects, and his internal organs could be damaged. He's going to get past this, but it sounds like some changes need to be made around your household in order to help him do that. Could you read something pleasant to him before he goes to sleep? There are some great chapter books for his age, and you could read a little bit of it to him each night. Keep things calm and quiet around the house before bedtime. I wouldn't even turn the TV on, maybe just play some relaxing music and play a game or something. Keep things G-rated, and he'll be over this in no time. As long as you and your family are doing everything you can to help him, just be patient because it's going to take a little while for him to get past whatever damage has been done by having seen that movie.

How scary is the Original Nightmare on elm street?

I was 13 when it came out and my girlfriend and I got in with her older sister. I was so scared after the movie that I kept the light on in my bedroom and did not sleep the entire weekend. I kid you not. I would have to agree with the rest of the folks here that times have changed plus you already KNOW the story now. It was fresh and not heavily advertised to we had no idea what to expect which just added to the anxiety.

What do you think about allowing children to watch horror movies? Abusive? or just really stupid parenting?

Good point Desmeran, but adults obviously process it differently than children - so I just don't understand - do they need a "buddy" to watch it with - do they get some kind of thrill watching the frightened look on their child's fae or is it just ignorance?

How come good guys never die in the movies anymore?

The good guys in two of my all time fav action films die in surprise endings.

In 1985's "To Live And Die In LA" William Petersen, a secret agent tracking his partner's killer is gunned down.

In 1997's "Wounded" Graham Greene a police detective is killed while protecting a Forest Ranger seriously wounded by a poacher's gun.

It was real bummers when these good guys bought it it those films. Art does sometimes imitate life !

What does a Halloween Horror Nights scareactor audition entail?

I'm thinking about auditioning to be a scareactor at Universal Studios Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights. For anyone who has worked there or knows what the audition entails, could you please let me know? Thank you!
