Will There Be Jobs For People With And Without College In The Future

What are some good jobs for people without college degrees?

That’s a topic that will never run dry. Let me ask you another question though. What is the best job for someone who does have a college degree? The answer is the same for both questions - there is no ‘best’ job. Actually, in most cases, you can end up doing the same job as someone with a degree. Of course, we aren’t talking about doctors, lawyers, natural sciences professionals, and other professions that require years of serious dedication in order to master that particular skill set.Everything else, including software development, design, project management, writing, photographing, business development, and like 90% of other jobs, require ONLY your willingness to continually invest in your knowledge and persistence to push forward no matter what. College degree in those cases doesn’t really mean anything if you can’t back it up with your knowledge.I helped hundreds of professionals move up on a career ladder, and there were plenty of those in executive level roles that dropped out of college simply due to opportunity cost.Reason? They were moving more quickly in building their knowledge and skill sets on their own than they were receiving from college programs. We live in a gig economy these days, and most people are having a hard time realizing that fact. Universities are still preparing their students for full-time jobs when they graduate, and since it’s only natural to trust that kind of authority, students are unknowingly becoming prepared to live in a society that is ceasing to exist. Once their college days end, so it will their comfort zone.Unlike those students, you can adapt to the situation more quickly and start working in line with latest industry trends. There’s a plethora of free courses on Coursera, edX and other similar platforms. At least in the 21th century, the knowledge is truly free and available to anyone, so there are no excuses not to learn and grow in whatever you love doing.Don’t be afraid to pursue your goals, and don’t let anyone put you down only because you chose a different road for yourself. I did it as well, and I have no regrets whatsoever.

Will you be able to make it without a college degree in the future?

There is only one way you can become successful in this world without a college degree.Instead of believing in a college degree, you have to believe in yourself. That’s all it takes. Most people believe in the magical power of a college degree, and pay zero (or only little) attention to whether they believe in themselves. With an unshaken belief in yourself, in your ability to learn new things, acquire and hone new skills, overcome obstacles, survive, and win, you can do anything in life. All young people should believe in themselves first. Not in their college degrees. But it’s f*cking hard when parents and other adults keep telling them that a college degree is everything in today’s world. The greatest lie ever!If you believe your success/ quality of your life is determined/ sealed in your youth, you have only several years ( roughly 5 years) to build this future. That’s a very short time window in which to build your future. It also means that you have just one chance to do it right. If you believe that the time to build your future is always (not only in your teenage years and early 20s, but equally in your 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond) you don’t give up merely because you didn’t have those early life opportunities, and don’t use it as your favorite excuse in life, but you fight on. You also have many more years in which you can build your future. You also don’t have this huge anxiety, which cripples so many young people nowadays, caused by this ludicrous expectation that you should do it right in your youth, or else your life will suck shit.-This is a copy of my previous answer Lukasz Laniecki's answer to What can I do if I have failed college, because of family poverty and being broke? Can I get a career and renew my life?

Will there be jobs for people without college in the future?

Most answers point out the jobs there are currently available. But the question asks about the future. Possibly the OP assumes that the future won't need the jobs already mentions, like carpenter, plumber, techinicians, machinist. Considering the current state of robotics, I can see some jobs in manufacture going by the wayside. Also, there are robotic "security guards" being tested in business in Japan. So I can imagine robots will take a lot of service jobs related to cleaning and booth-type jobs. I can't see the near future replacing the following jobs: Skilled builders. Carpenters, masons, construction workers. As much as technology is entering the construction world, with coordinated, computerized cement pouring machines, a lot of the processes for building still needs a human eye and hand.Food Prep. The day that I will have my noodles made by a robot-chef are far away, and the social ability to accept foor from a robot seems tricky to me. Chef work, cooks, food prep, will all still be available. Food needs a human touch. Police. Robocop is not happening any time soon, even with current drone technology. Humans will be public safety workers for a good time to come. Drivers. Smart cars are coming, but not before current generation born reaches adulthood, maybe even one more generation away. Even if they do begin to become mainstream, self-driving cars won't be operating at the public-transit any time soon. There are too many risks involved, too many lives and jobs at stake. So taxi, bus, metro driver positions will be around for good while to come. Specialist positions in manufature, possibly. By this I mean, not the person that tightens screws in a small part of the process. I can see a lot of skill-based positions in manufacture, which require tricky maneuvering, case-specific attention to detail, or quality assessment labor. Shoes come to mind, not so much smart phones.  Bartenders. Human touch is a big part of the success of a well tended bar. Eye contact, smiles, open ears. Robot bartenders? Maybe in the distant future, but unlikely.  Gardeners. Tree planting, landscaping, plant care, and those annoying leaf blowers will be around for a long time to come. Farmers. It seems improbable that technology will erase farmers from the workforce.  These are the most evident. Maybe I'll review my answer and add some if more come to mind.  Thanks for the A2A

Will i still be successful without going to college?

Hey Tony.

I have to say that I was actually in a similar situation a few years back. I'm 21 now, and was living with my parents until 20. Even though I'd been successful academically, I didn't really want to go to college. You don't have to either to be successful. I'm sorry that the law enforcement situation didn't work out for you, but you have a lot of options for yourself.

For one, there's a lot of trade schools you could go to. No, this isn't college, but it's programs that offer hands-on training for a specific type of job. Welding, for instance, is a popular option. You could do a 6 month program to become a Phlebotomist (someone who draws/handles blood at hospitals and offices).

Also, even though most people down trod such careers, you could also apply at factories, grocery stores (or any kind of store, really), and simply progress through them. Believe it or not, store supervisors or managers of most chains earn upwards of 80k a year. You could also apply for civilian jobs on military bases (and no, you don't have to be in the military to get these jobs); these typically pay several dollars more than minimum wage, and opportunities are frequent. I wouldn't advise having your hopes up for this right now because the government is shut down, but keep it in mind for the future.

The best thing for you to do right now is to try to get a full time job and maybe move out or get a roommate. Or, if you don't want to do that, you could offer "rent" to your dad - maybe a hundred bucks a month, etc.

I know you were adverse to go to college, but there are plenty of two-year degrees (associate's degrees) that are offered and can land you multiple jobs. Assistant jobs (for doctors, vets - possibly even positions that non-officers can pursue in a justice department). You can get these degrees through most community colleges, and no matter your grades or performance in high school can get scholarships. If not, then as long as you have a part time job or something you can likely pay the expense.

I think your dad just wants you to take a step towards the future so you don't wind up unable to take care of yourself in the future. Have a sit-down with him and be honest: tell him you don't know what you want to do, but you're going to keep working and look into trade schools.

Anyways, good luck to you doll! You can do it.

How do you think the jobs people will have in the future will affect their lives?

Much of the liberal rhetoric you will see on this site would have you believe that we will all be working at McDonalds unless we elect a Democrat.

Pretty funny, huh?

How are people without a college degree supposed to compete in the job market with AI/automation on the rise and a shift toward renewable energy?

People without a college degree can still develop skills needed in the future AI/Automation driven future! For one, as AI / Automation repair people!but also, there are many jobs where you need job specific training, NOT a college degree. For many jobs, a college degree is just an unnecessary tax!Well paying tech service options range from LVN (licensed vocational nurse), to diesel mechanic, and those are exactly the jobs you CAN’T export. And designing and putting up solar, or working on a wind turbine, is not a degreed need!Best answer is that folks perception on jobs, and the reality, are very different.yes, few “high paying, walk in off the streets knowing nothing” ASSEMBLY type jobs, that provided many non degreed folks with good income in the past.. but ones with some but limited but some technical knowledge? lots of those.Learn to WELD.

What jobs will people in the future do?

Careers in manufacturing, business (mainly accounting and finance), farming and other of these job types will likely be mechanized. However machines will not be able to, at least in the foreseeable future, carry out complex abstract thought or interact with people in a emotional way.To adress the problem of unemployment, higher level degrees will become the norm, Phd rather than bachelors or masters, and those who are intellectually able to handle this type of work will be able to survive and reproduce. It pains me to say this but in this scenario natural selection would likely kick in and those who are less intelligent, or today’s definition of normal, would likely be unemployed and unable to reproduce. This would likely lead to a increase in the average intelligence of the species, and the cycle would continue.Hopefully we never have this problem and we will not have to resort to natural selection and eugenics.

Will getting suspended affect your future ( college/job)?

Well while I was in yr3,4,5 I was a really good student and I was always top of the class and I always got lots of awards and I was always the teacher's favorite but there was this girl and she kept bullying me and she threatened me not to tell anyone or else she would tell everyone that I cheated in tests and copied out of her homework book because I forgot to do my own (completely not true!!!) and well one day I got really mad and blurt out "why would I even want to copy out of YOUR homework book your writing is messy and you don't even glue in half the stuff the teacher tells u to you don't get anything right in your Maths and English homework!!!!" and I guess the teacher must have heard me bcoz for the next 2 hrs the teacher makes me write "I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry etc.) on the board I also got detention and she gets nothing for kicking, punching, hitting me with a ruler so hard that it breaks, pushing me over and stealing my stuff, ruining my artwork, homework and my life... So one day I made a grp on fb and said some really rude things about her and I added everyone of my friends that were in my school to it(that knew her) I made sure that it was on secret mode so that no one outside of the group could see it but I guess someone must've betrayed us bcoz that girl's mum found out then she rang the principal and so one day the assistant principal came and took me and my friends (who aren't really my friends anymore bcoz of the trouble I got them in) to the library and we had a little chat about suspension but bcoz of my good history ( awards, top of class) she decided she'll give me quadruple detention bcoz I made the grp and she gave my "friends"triple detention for saying the things they did... And ever since that day I've never got into any extra curricular groups like swim team or cross country team , Maths team, FPS (future problem solving - for extremely gifted students only) science team and I've never been a leader in anything either such as the house leader, the choir leader i haven't got any special jobs either all I've got is "wet day monitor" which means I have to look after out of control yr3s on rainy lunchtimes and now no teacher believes I can be" responsible and mature" Its been like 3 years but I've felt guilty everyday of my life since that day
and I'm really worried this might affect my chances of getting into a good university or even my chance of getting a good job

If I get a job as an escort as a college student will it affect my future?

There is no way for them to find out, so I doubt it would come back to bite you professionally.

Here's a thought, though. How about instead of degrading yourself to take the financial easy route, you get a real job and work hard for the things you want like everybody else? Things you gain or maintain by doing so:
-The ability to tell people what you do without being judged
-The ability to tell men what you do without being immediately disqualified for dating
----The ability to to be honest with men, rather than having to live behind a lie about your income source which would inevitably lead to the ruination of the relationship when it is exposed
-Self esteem
-Pride in yourself and your accomplishments ("I earned this with academic fortitude!" vs. "I sold my body to strangers for cash to earn this!")
-The ability to live without deep regrets about your past

Accountant by day, prostitute by night...that could almost be a TV show.
