Will This Laptop Handle Running Sims 3 And Expansion Packs

What laptop will run sims 3 and all expansions smoothly?

Larissa, your best choice is to post this question on The Sims forum under Technical Discussions:

They can find the best laptops for your budget, but also put together a laptop for you with the best options. All you have to do is give them your budget and country. They will not be able to determine anything for Sims 5 as it is not even known yet if it will be, much less what it would need in future if it ever comes.

My Sims 3 Late Night Expansion Pack won't auto run to install.?

My boyfriend got a new hard drive for the laptop & ever since then, the expansion pack won't auto run for installation. I had it downloaded before on the same laptop, old hard drive... But now the disk just spins & I can hear the disk drive trying to read it. It there another way to install this game without the auto run?

I Can't Run More Than 1 The Sims 3 Expansion Pack?

I think you're misunderstanding how the game works when you have multiple expansions - when you install a new expansion pack, no matter how many you install and no matter what order you install them in, the game always uses the most recently RELEASED pack to start the game - and that's not always the last pack you installed.

That's why, for example, when you installed Supernatural, then tried to install World Adventures, it wouldn't start with the World Adventures disk -you'd still have needed your more recent expansion disk to load the game with.

You can install any combination of expansion packs, but it will always ask for the most recently released pack you have. When you start the game with this pack, you'll have all the content from each expansion you've installed in one game - you just don't need to use the old disks. You don't need to download any "add ons" from the internet to play your expansions, just start it with the right disk and it'll work fine.

Re-install all your expansions, then try using your most recently released pack to start the game. It'll tell you which disk to use if you put the wrong one in :)

Can Sims 2 expansion packs run on Sims 3?

unfortunately, no they cant. I have to says that getting Sims 3 is worth the purchase if you are a true sims fan. The graphics are awesome, and the detail is 5 times better than the sims 2. I understand if you do not want to get a new program though. Since the price of the sims 3 has gone down since their release, I do recommend the new version. It appears as though the 3rd version will be the last though. Since I have purchased it, all they have done is program updates, and not a new game altogether.
I hope that this helped!

Will my computer run The Sims 3 and it's expansion packs?

Minimum requirements to play the Sims 3 on a Windows Vista/7 computer are:
2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
1.5 GB RAM
128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1
At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games

So as you can see, your computers processor doesn't meet the minimum requirements of the game, and as such are unlikely to have an enjoyable experience if it did run. Common problems you would expect to encounter when running a game on a machine with less than the minimum requirements is the game crashing while playing, or in other cases it not even being able to start.

UPDATE: If you're still unsure, you can run compatibility check yourself. This website will check your computers specification and compare it to the minimum requirements of the game:

If you want to try it out anyway, be sure to buy a physical of the game and not a digital download. This way at least you can resell it if it doesn't work.

What is a good laptop that can play Sims 3 (with all expansions) for under $500? The only things I need are internet, Sims, and Word (which I will get later).

Speaking from practicality, rather than knowing for sure, most laptops on the shelf will run Sims 3 with no problem, as you need. The base requirements of an Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent, already states that the game that was written to run on computers of an an entirely different family of processors that came out in the mid-2000’s. This was before things like the Core 2 Duo (common in the later 2000’s), and before the current i3, i5, and i7 family of processors which started around about 2010/2011. We are now in the 9th generation on the shelves, and computers are just simply blazing, compared to back then. Every 2 years, computational speed (for the price) doubles. So, if we compare a computer that sold for $500 two years ago, with one today, the one today will be twice as fast.Sims 4 has come out since then (2014), and even than, the minimum requirements were set for a computer that was about $500–700 back then.I think that you simply need to go down to the store and pickup your new computer. Maybe spend a little more, like $600–700, and get a little more memory (like 16GB), but you should be absolutely happy!

Will these laptops run the sims 3?

I'm looking to buy a new laptop. I enjoy playing the sims 3 and have a few expansion packs - however the expansions aren't too important and I can live without.
I just want to know if the laptop I'm gonna buy will at least run the base game on medium settings, without too much lag. My current laptop is major laggy.

I went into pc world and was told I would need an i5 processor - as long as the laptop had this it would run the game fine but she then went to say there cheapest was around £600. So i'm weary she was just trying to make an expensive sale.

The laptops I have found that I think may be okay are the Advent Torino x700 and a Lenovo G500.

I don't know as much about computing and specs as I'd like to so I just wanna check.

If these aren't so good can anyone make a recommendation? I'm looking to spend around £400-500.
Thanks.

What’s a good laptop that will run Sims 3 and will work for college stuff? My budget is up to $650.

This Acer Aspire should get the job done for you. Basically what I looked for was a laptop that was between 13–15 inches (not to small but fits in a backpack), had 8 GB of RAM and an SSD (makes regular use feel quick and smooth), and had a somewhat competent CPU and GPU for Sims 3 (the i5 and integrated graphics should get the job done with some settings tweaks).Amazon says they only have 2 left, so don't take too long to make a decision.Have fun in college!https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspi...
