Will Thrift Savings Plan Forward To My P.o. Box

When is it okay to keep something you find?

I find stuff ALL THE TIME. I guess I just look at the ground a lot, I don't know. I've found multiple phones, a passport, money, a purse, etc, and most of the time these items are expensive. I do my best to return these items to their rightful owner whenever possible. I would want someone to do the same for me. Most of the time it's easy to find the owner. If I find something in a restaurant/at school/ at a club/amusement park etc, I bring them to the front desk or the lost and found. Most phones have "mom" or "home" so I will call that number. If it's locked wait for the phone to ring. It will. I've been rewarded $50 for the return of a phone (but I never expect anything in return).  Purses and wallets usually have ID or a bank card/library card. It's usually easiest to bring it to the bank that they are at instead of going to their house or work.Expensive items or items of great importance (passport,, watch, engagement ring) usually have the owner looking for them. Keep an eye out for posters looking for the lost item. You can always put up a VAGUE sign saying you found a watch and if you can describe it then you cam have it back. My dad found and engagement ring and posters went up EVERYWHERE. She rewarded him $500zSome items aren't worth advertising. An inexpensive necklace? Keep. Book left on the beach? Keep. If you find money on the ground in a public place, if you don't take it someone else will. I found money three times at tourist attractions and it could belong to anyone. I kept it. I found a wad of twenties on the floor at the cash at Starbucks. I gave it to the manager with my phone number. The owner of it did come back for it. If an item costs more than $50 and/or takes minimal effort to return to its owner, I do my best to return it/turn it in. Most people are over the moon excited when you return things they lost. They enjoy them much better than I would.

What advantages and disadvantages are there to saving money in a bank?

A bank is a financial institution which creates credit by lending money to a borrower thus creating a corresponding deposit on the bank’s balance sheet. They play a very important role in the economy of any country and are highly regulated.Banks are subjected to minimum capital requirement norms based on an international set of capital standards, known as the Basel Accords. Lets discuss about the Benefits of Bank Account:Advantages of Bank account:1. Savings– It built a habit of setting aside money. There are various types of bank accounts like fixed deposit, current deposit etc which a customer can choose based on his need.2. Liquidity– It provides high liquidity especially when a person needs a ready pool of money for the emergency purpose. You can deposit or withdraw your money whenever you need and also send remittances through the bank.3. Identity– It provides an identity which is recognized by various government institutions.4. Transparency– The bank transactions are very transparent in nature and you can keep a track of your transactions through your Passbook.5. Safety– The money kept in a bank account is safe and is well regulated.6. Payment of expenses– We can give standing orders to pay some fixed expenses like telephone bill, electricity bill etc and also receive payments directly into the bank accountNow that you know the advantages to opening a savings account, here are some disadvantages you might want to consider:Limited WithdrawalsEven though you have easy access, there is typically a six-transaction limit per month. This transaction limit is a Regulation D rule put in place to encourage people to save their money—so in fact, it’s meant to help you in the long run. As long as you’re not using your savings account as your main account, this shouldn’t be a problem.Lower Chance of Personal InteractionHaving 24/7 access to your account is great, but one problem with online banking is that you don’t get the opportunity to build a relationship with the teller or a personal banker. However, if you’re extremely busy, this might be an advantage since you can manage your funds more efficiently.Interest RatesUnlike many checking accounts, savings accounts offer interest on funds. However, the interest rates are usually lower than certificate of deposit (CDs) depending on the bank.

What would you do to help homeless people?

When I was homeless what I needed was to be allowed a place to sleep. Even better, to be allowed a place to sleep that seemed safe. Not just by law enforcement either, but ideally by an owner of private property who could give permission for limited use of the property. This is the least like being homeless if you are homeless, because in a way, or for some needs, you would have a home. The two most important things are to A) Sleep without harassment, and B) Use the bathroom. If not to use the bathroom, a place to sleep would still be immesely helpful. The most important thing for anyone is sleep. That will likely provide immediate emotional support and stability that is needed for someone who is homeless. When sleeping securely and legally, and without the stigma that settles in when in the public eye constantly; it would be easier to find a job, become employed and move on. There are many kinds of disabilities, some physical and some that are not physical. For an invisible disability, or a mental health concern, what a person needs is as much stability and normalcy as humanly possible. Sleeping in a crowded shelter, with many who are sick, many who are in chronic pain, and many who are chainsmokers and belch out smoke all night long may not help a person who is sensitive to others or living conditions. This question was not “what is the most realistic thing I can do for a homeless person that doesn’t drain my resources?” The question was, “what is the best and most helpful thing to do for a homeless person.” For a homeless person who wants a conventional lifestyle— local, stable employment, these things are the best things you can give them. Give a homeless person some of the benefits of having a home. Give them social normalcy, i.e. permission to sleep somewhere privately owned. This is something most of us are expected to have. Living in a homeless shelter is not realistic for many homeless people. This can be due to illness or a weak immune system, or due to a relationship or pet ownership, etc. Giving a person a place to sleep is the most important thing someone could have done for me, and it can take away a lot of the psychic pain of being in an unstable and widely stigmatized situation.
