Will We Be Able To Cure More Things In The Near Future

Eye Floaters - Will there be a cure in the near future?

Dear Friends,

I've been hit by a massive increase in Eye Floaters 4 months ago and unfortunately it's not getting better. I've always had some floaters but they were never as apparent as now. Suddenly there is this blackish line in my field of vision whenever I look at a bright surface (like an LCD screen) or at the sky. Even under dim light conditions I can make the line of floaters. The other floaters are not so apparent.

I've done some research and found that there is no current cure for floaters. The only method is to get a Vitrectomy or YAG laser which are both very risky procedures given the benign nature of eye floaters.
However, they annoy the living day lights out of me and they changing my behavior lately. I am starting to avoid looking at bright surfaces and working on the PC at work has become excrutiating to say the least.

What I don't understand is that I've probably had those floaters all along but suddenly I seem to see them everywhere. My only hope is that my mind will stop focusing on them and they will fade into the background or that I will get used to them somehow. The way I feel right now I can't even imagine that I will just stop seeing them all of the sudden and that I'll be okay with them just being there without noticing them.

Does anyone have a similar experience? One where Floaters always have been there but all of the sudden you start focusing on them? I really hope that they have been there with the same strenght before because this means that once I don't focus on them anymore I can live my life just like all those past year - not noticing them.

Last question: Do you think that sometime soon the scientific community will come up with a "cure" for floaters. Something like eye drops that will disolve the floaters or do you think that this just won't be possible?

Best,
Thomas .K

What do you think the future will be like?

Im only 14, therefor if I'm lucky I'll have another 70 years ahead of me. I've been thinking about the future. like 50 years from now
Personally I don't think there will flying cars and robots.
This is my guess:

everything will be very green. More enviromental. Infact my city just started the green bin program. I think we'll increase our solar and wind energy. Cars will run off very little gas. And 80% of apliences will be enviromentally safe. Perhaps even farm sky scrapers in the middle of citys.

I think almost everything will be touch screen. Microwaves, tv remotes, calenders, laptops, cell phones, ovens etc. It just seems that everything is turning touch screen!

I think there will be less religion, and more science. We'll be very interested in space. Perhaps a cure for cancer?

Anyway what do you think 50 years from today will be like (2060)

What if there's a thing called CURE?

To believe in an "homosexuality cure" you have to believe that homosexuality is a disease in the first place, and I don't believe such thing.
There is no proof of the existance of anything called "homosexuality gene", There are no bisexual or homosexual genes, so I'm afraid you may want to check your facts first before you come here asking this kind of bigoted and stupid questions.

Homosexuality and bisexuality have been existing since the times of the Romans and the Ancient Egyptians. It is only after the appearance of "Christian" philosophers in the Middle Ages that the subject became a taboo.
So, judging by mankind's past and present, to me homosexuality, bisexuality and heterosexuality are nothing more than natural ways for a human to be and act. We should learn to accept each other's differences more, all this hate is toxic for our society.

Will everyone be fat in the near future?

Everyone is fat NOW. In the 1960's one out of twenty people were obese.... now One out of Three people is obese. The MacDonald's garbage diet has taken it's toll. Right wing pinheads can't imagine actually regulating some evil like this - might cut into some Billionaire's profits.

We're heading into a gigantic disaster medically with blubber problems - whether the morons in this country understand that or not. Read the answers here to witness the amount of denial.

What diseases will be curable by 2020?

Working in Pharmacy for a while before I became a developer I learned that there are some medications, mostly HIV medications, which are insanely expensive costing well over $100/pill. I've seen medications cost as much as $10,000 per 30 pills. In most cases the people had insurance so luckily they only had to pay their copay. What I'm trying to get at is that there are huge profits in not curing diseases. Once something is cured the profits are gone. What it will take is for some random unknown scientist to create cures for things, and that person would have to be in it to help people, not make a profit. Anyone who invents a cure will quickly be approached by major Pharmaceutical companies offering them probably hundreds of millions to sell their patents so that they dont get cured. It's a sad reality we face.

When will we cure blindness?

I can't see that it will. OK, That was a TERRIBLE pun. Sorry. What I am going to say is probably unreal to most people. The fact is, YOU are a spiritual being. You're not a body. You HAVE a body and the current game of LIFE (on this planet) is going thru body life cycles. At death you pop out of your expired shell and find a new family to come back with. You slip inside your new (pregnant) mommy's womb and, voila! 9 months later, you have a new baby body to relearn everything you already knew in all your prior lives. Silly, isn't it? But that's the way it is. More truth to the movies "Ghost", "The Sixth Sense"  and others than what you might believe otherwise! So when you expired from your last life, wandering around as a dis-embodied spirit, do you think you are BLIND?! Of course not! You can actually see MUCH more vividly than with body eyes and almost 360 degrees as you are not limited to the binocular aspect of "human" vision.Blindness, as such, then, is a BODY malfunction. There are stories throughout history of blind people getting into accidents where they can suddenly see, when there is no reasonable physiological explanation. What happened is that the PERSON got knocked out of their body so they stopped using their malfunctioning eyes and are seeing, as a dis-embodied spirit. But they're NOT dis-embodied! And being exterior from the body while it is still alive - THAT IS QUITE A TRICK! So this is a rare phenomena.Scientists are looking for BODY solutions to blindness. I don't know how you could get a person first, to OBE STABLY, and then, secondly, STAY that way. That would be the ultimate cure for blindness.
