Will yoga help me lose weight?

If you try to lose weight with yoga alone, you probably won't be too successful. However, if you incorporate diet and some cardio, yoga can be a great way to help with weight management.

Will yoga and walking help me lose weight?

So I'm trying to get a better bathing suit body. I only want to lose a little weight (like no more than maybe an inch off my stomach and most my love handles) I don't want to look like a stick, I like my curvy figure just not so much curvy. So i fast walk/slow jog a mile everyday and im gonna start doing yoga everyday as well. I eat some what healthy and am cutting back on snacks and soda. I've been doing my mile walk/slow jog for about 3 weeks now. At this rate (fast walking a mile and doing yoga) about how long will it take to lose my love handles and a bit of my stomach?

By itself Yoga won't really help you lose weight because it doesn't burn a whole lot of calories. It kind of depends on what kind of Yoga you're doing. It def. doesn't make you taller though. It might improve your posture making you look taller but it won't help you grow vertically.

If you want to lose weight, you need to two things: eat less and exercise more. Weight gain happens when you create a calorie surplus (eat more than you burn). Your body takes the excess calories and converts them to fat which get stored around your stomach, arms and thighs. The longer you remain in a calorie surplus, the more weight you'll gain. To lose that weight, you need to do the opposite. You need to create a calorie deficit (start eating less than you burn).

Can you lose weight by doing yoga?

I have the P90X yoga and I was planning on doing it everyday in the summer. Would that help me lose weight? And if so how long do you think it will take to get results? Thanks!!
