Will You Compare Ireland And Scotland - Details Which Would I Move To

What place is better to live in? Ireland, England, or Scotland?

I want to move to one of these countries after I am done with school but I have absolutely no idea where. I am bored of the place I currently live in. I have heard these places are quite nice. Where should I move, in your opinion? Which one has better economy and friendly people? Also, which one has the better weather and more culture? Actually, you don't have to answer these questions, just tell me which country is better in your opinion, please? (:

How do you call a public "bathroom" in Ireland, England, Scotland, and Australia?

in the UK - signs usually say toilets, on the door either ladies or gents or disabled or baby change, when speaking we say the loo or toilet or occasionally (but rather twee) the little girls room or the little boys room, WC (short for water closet)

Is England,Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland countries?

Yes, all are individual countries full-stop. They do however share one government under the United Kingdom and are politically represented internationally by the UK government.

See Wikipedia on Scotland: "Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom."

Northern Ireland is not part of Great Britain but is part of the United Kingdom - see term 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'.

All of these countries have surrendered primary power making to Westminster in London but just because it is in London does not mean England controls say Scotland. The Members of Parliament in London are elected in their local regions so Scots elect Scots, Welsh elect Welsh officials etc. The officials tend to move to London during their term.

In recent times there has been movements to devolve power from Westminster to the capitals of each country with Scotland and Northern Ireland both having local assemblies that carry out local decision making.

Scotland and Wales have national anthems (England does not officially have an anthem other than the anthem of Great Britain - 'God save the Queen/King'.)

Moving to Ireland! Help/Advice Pretty Please ?

So I created an account just to ask you guys a few basic questions.. if you don't mind that is. I even stayed up extra late because I know you're 8 hours ahead. Haha. ( I'm from BC, Canada ) ANY advice you guys could give me would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Okay, here goes:

(1) In your opinion, what is the best town/city to live in? & what is the cheapest? Friendliest? ( I want to live in a small town hopefully, with the basic amenities lol )

(2) Is it hard to find apartments and jobs in Ireland? How about finding roommates? Whats the average rent? ( I know overwhelming right )

(3) How do the people treat uhhm foreigners?? ( je ne sais quoi.. lol ) I figure they'd be very friendly but understandably a little tired of them. I'll probably be mistaken for an American. ( oh so happy about that ) .. ;)

(4) Finally, if I happen to plug in my 120 volt hair straightener.. will I die?

Anyway, I'm looking to live in a town with lots of culture. I'm of Scottish descent ( like most Canadians ) and the city I'm living in at the moment has a population of 330,088. Again, if you provide me with ANY info/tips at all I'll owe you my life. Well not really, but you catch my drift. I'm just that naive.
