How can I get my parents to trust me with rats?
Last year my parents bought me a horse and I took care of him and saw him everyday until my dog passed away and I was hit with a wave of depression and then I didn’t leave my room other than to go to school and work. My parents now don’t trust me with the responsibility of a couple rats, how can I get them to trust me again? I’ve started cleaning without them asking, doing all my homework, offering to do stuff that they usually do, I got 2 fish and one died but we have no idea why, I’m going to counselling every week, and I don’t cut anymore. I’ve wanted rats for a few years now and both my older siblings had rats but they didn’t take care of them well and that has put my parents off them a bit
How would you say "Trust me," in Russian?
Funnily enough, Russians do not say "Trust me" (it would sound more of a command!), when they want to win somebody's trust. They say the very opposite "Ne somnevaysya vo mne" ("Don't doubt me" - as much formal usage) or "Ne boysya" ("Don't be afraid" - "me" or any other person is implied; applied to as more informal, and thus, more in use).

How do I get my leopard gecko to trust me?
There are a few ways to gain a reptiles trust, in this case a leopard gecko is not always the easiest due to the tail loss issue. One thing that most geckos can't resist though is wax worms, hand feeding them some can help the gecko build trust with you. Hold the worm by the tip of its tail and let the gecko come too you, it will most likely pounce at the worm so be prepared before it does. (no more than 5 wax worms a week due to lack of protein and the excess fat contained in them) You can always try just gently lifting it off the viv floor and holding it for a little while before putting it back down, this will teach it that you don't intend to hurt it when you pick it up. Always be confident in handling it and keep a firm hold of the body just don't squeeze it, also make sure to never startle the gecko by grabbing it from behind, make sure it knows your intentions before-hand by petting its back etc.
