I factory reset my windows 10 pc and the USB ports don’t work.?

So.. I factory reset my windows 10 pc and the USB ports don’t work. The last time I did this the same thing happened but I had 1 USB port that still worked off of a internal SD/microSD/USB drive that I installed, and I eventually figured out that to get all the rest of my USB ports to work that they didn’t have drivers for windows 10 but needed to be run in windows 8 compatibility and they work fine.

However, this time none of my USB ports work. I know how to get the drivers, but I have no way of connecting keyboard and mouse to get to that point. Any ideas are appreciated

How can I get windows 10 back after factory reset?

Just backup your data, then do a clean install of the same version of 10 you had before. You can make a USB for that here: Windows 10No worries about licensing. None. I’ve done exactly this - many many times.I need to emphasize… This answer is from my personal experience. I am not telling you the official MS policy, I’m telling you I have done this myself, to at least 40 - 50 machines.Regardless of what official Microsoft policy may say, and (in disagreement with others here) if your machine ever had a licensed instance of Win10 running online before, and there are no major hardware changes, it will activate again. Totally automatically. You don’t have to lift a finger. You don’t have to do another upgrade. You don’t have to reset - which takes much longer. You don’t have to create a recovery media. You don’t have to log into an MS account. You don’t have to do JACK SHIT.Just do a clean install of Win 10. If it was activated before, it will activate again.

How do I reset my PC to factory settings on Windows 8 without a recovery disk?

What you're looking for is the Windows Recovery Environment (Windows RE). There are a couple of ways to access this in Windows 8:Settings > Power > hold Shift and click Restart (keep holding Shift until you get to the Recovery Environment).Settings > Change PC settings > General > Advanced startup > Restart now. From there, among other things you have the option to Refresh your PC (clear all user-installed software, updates, drivers etc. but keep your files) or Reset your PC (to factory settings, meaning you will lose all files on the system).Best of luck! I suffered through the awful experience of being a Windows 8 user for a few years, so I know the depth of pain and misery it can bring.

Will resetting PC in windows 8 delete my data and format the disk D, or does it format only the disk C?

It “should” not touch the D drive at all, unless you “tell” it to. Though there may be some issues if the D drive is but a partition on the same physical disc as the C drive. Most dangerous part is when the installer fiddles with the partition tables. The format operation itself should only do its thing to the main partition which will become the C drive. If you’re scared you could always do a backup first (which is always a good idea before such system-wide changes). Or if D is on its own physical disc, unplug it before doing the reset, that way the Windows installer won’t even be able to find it, never mind doing anything to it.A reset will most definitely wipe everything from the C drive, so the stuff you’ve got on there (e.g. your Documents and anything you saved direct onto the desktop) will need to be backed up.As for programs, the best way would be to re-install them from scratch once Windows has completed its installation - I’ve never seen any sort of backup / migrate work properly with everything. Actually, it’s very rare that such works at all. Most programs on Windows just have too many nuances and special places where each saves some configuration data. Not to mention most require some strange dependencies which may get installed into all sorts of folders - not just in their own installation folder, each of which tends to have similar config data issues.

How can I reset my Windows 8? My PC is very slow I want to clean it up.

Had similar problem, date 23 Nov 2018. . I googled “Steps to change the Virtual Memory size in Windows 8.1”. It lead me to “My Windows Hub”. Followed the guidelines there and changed virtual memory from 1280 MB to recommended 4585 MB. Two problems solved 1) the loading speed increased significantly 2) crackling noise when playing Youtube videos disappeared. But when I returned back to check the setting it still showed 1280MB.

Cannot activate Windows 8/8.1 after using PC Refresh (Error Code 0xC004C003)?

Hi,

I bought a HP Envy notebook a few months back, which came with Windows 8. I soon upgraded it to Windows 8.1, but started experiencing some stability issues over the last couple of weeks. Last night I used the in-built PC Refresh option in Settings, which reset it back to Windows 8. When I logged in, it said that Windows was no longer activated (error code 0xC004C003 - The activation server determined that the specified product key has been blocked). Thinking it was because I was now running Windows 8 again, I redownloaded the Windows 8.1, but I'm still getting the activation error. I can't afford for this PC to become unactivated and locked out.. how can I get the activation server to recognise that I do in fact have a legitimate key?

I have also contacted HP and are waiting on them to get back to me. They want to send me some recovery media, but they want to send it via courier and as I work on the road, there's nowhere for me to receive it.

How to reset Windows 8 password on a Dell computer or restore it to factory settings?

Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron One 2330 with Windows 8 and I forgot the password. I am trying to either reset the password or restore it back to factory specs - I don't care about my files.

Here is what I tried:
1. Tried a couple of password cracking programs, but they do not seem to see the partition/necessary files on this Windows 8 machine.
2. Tried booting into Safe Mode - it seems that Windows 8 does not have Safe Mode unless you access it while logged in to Windows 8 (useless).
3. Tried restoring the computer to factory specs, but again, this option seems to be available only when you are logged into Windows 8 (useless again). I cannot find a way to start the restore process by pressing an F key (like F8 or F11).

I do not have the factory recovery dvds.

Any suggestions?
