Wisdom Teeth Painless

Painless Wisdom Teeth?

Your experience is normal. While you may have some "teething" pain when they erupt, usually wisdom teeth cause pain when they become infected. This happens frequently because they fail to grow all the way up into place and thus, there is a deep pocket around the tooth where bacteria can flourish (called pericoronitis). Having wisdom teeth that fail to come all the way in does not necessarily mean that your teeth will begin to get crooked. They may, but they might get crooked even if you have the wisdom teeth out. Also, most people don't brush as well as they should and having ill-positioned wisdom teeth are hard to keep clean--increasing the likelihood that they will become decayed. I suggest you see a dentist to determine whether there is adequate space for them and whether you should have them removed. Usually the answer is yes because it's better to have them out when you're young and healthy than to wait until they become infected or decayed when you're older. You never know what health problems you may develop with age and it could be riskier to have one or more taken out at that time. I suggest having them out under sedation; usually done by an oral surgeon because you won't remember a thing.

Wisdom teeth surgery painful or painless?

The dentist will numb the area of the tooth first . Some dentist don't do this . It will take only a minute or two . You you feel crunching noise when the tooth is pulled out . The tooth is attached to the gum line . That's reason for the crunching sound The dentist will use a pliers like device for pulling out the tooth . the device looks like a curved needle nosed pliers . The discomfort will only last a day . The bleeding will stop . You will have to rinse out your mouth with salty water every so often to keep it clean . The dentist might prescribe some pain killers, you will get about 10 pills for the pain . Don't worry about your tooth being pulled . It's really not the bad . I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth pulled out . One at a time though . I was feeling ok within 24 hours . When you get home , just go to bed and sleep it off . it is the best thing you can do . Oh by the way NO POTATO CHIPS you will feel pain .I can guarantee you that

Painless cavity in wisdom tooth?

Howdy!

A large but completely painless cavity has appeared in my wisdom tooth.

I'm going to the Dentist on Friday but I'm freaking out a little bit since this is my first cavity and first trip to the dentists office in like 10 to 11 years.

My main worry is that the cavity looks REALLY deep. Like from the part of my teeth that is showing above my Gums it seems to take up like half (you can even see the black parts from the outside because it is very much near the edge of the crown of the tooth).

Do you think they'll want to take it out? Should I be worried about any complications?

It seems deep but there is no pain so I'm hoping it hasn't reached any of the softer parts in my tooth?

Should I (27, M) get my impacted (but painless) lower wisdom teeth removed against my surgeon's recommendation to only remove the painful top ones? I'm worried they're just trying to avoid liability if there are complications.

Get a second opinion. Your films will show how close your third molar’s root tip actually is the your mandibular inferior alveolar nerve. Find an oral surgeon who has had experience in removing third molars that are very close to the nerve bundle and canal. Don’t be afraid to ask him or her how many of these has he or she done. One rare case I saw long ago where the inferior alveolar nerve actually ran through the third molar root tip was carefully removed by an experienced oral surgeon who split the tooth perfectly into two pieces. Like a skill diamond cutter, he was very careful, gentle, and precise. The patient had no paresthesia afterwards and recovered very quickly and very nicely.

Can you have painless dry socket?

No, it's not possible. A dry socket refers to the hole left in the jawbone where the tooth was anchored. Teeth are specialized extensions of the jaw, and pulling one out leaves a toothsize hole. Ordinarily it will be sealed off by a blood clot, which prevents the bone from loosing fluid and dehydrating through the open socket. Hence the term dry socket. If you had one, you'd not need to ask questions. You'd have a nagging pain in the jawbone below the extraction site that would gradually get so bad painwise you would seek out medical help. A week post extraction, you would have already had enough gum tissue healing occur that this should not be a problem. The weird taste has more to do with the sloughing off of dead tissue and bacteria being collected in that spot than anything else. Be sure to do the swish and rinse after you eat, and be careful to keep up the toothbrushing and flossing. That limits the numbers of smelly bacteria building up, and you have less chance of weird taste sensations. Sounds like you are healing very well, actually, and are past the point of dry socket being a concern. If your tooth hadn't rooted in the jawbone, you also wouldn't have a socket to be concerned about either.

How painful is a wisdom teeth removal?

It' a almost painless but probably a time consuming procedure. The population at large have misconceptions about keeping these teeth in mouth despite being in abnormal position. Even the dentists don't motivate and educate their patients to get them removed if they are not in normal functional position due to various professional reasons but the fact is that it's a vestigial organ and must be extracted if at abnormal position. Please get them extracted from a trained Maxillofacial surgeon

How do you pull out a tooth fast and painless?

Here's some suggestion I found online, but first make sure it's ready because if you take it out when it's not ready, then you'll have like hole in your gums and will be hard to eat. Anyways, hope it works! =)

Method 1
Put your thumb on the tooth, wiggle it once and quickly push up then pull down. It may hurt a little, but it should be out.
If it does hurt pull it back or push it forward then it should come out.

Method 2
Get two to five pieces of your favorite gum.
Start chewing one piece, then another, then another...and soon enough, the tooth should fall out!

Method 3
Tie a piece of unwaxed floss around the tooth and tie the other end to a doorknob then, carefully lean until the tooth will be pulled straight UP to prevent gum damage then slam the door.

Method 4
Sort of like Method 3; both really painful. Tie a piece of unwaxed floss to the tooth and tie the other end around a brick.
Brace (no pun intended) yourself for pain as you throw the brick.

Method 5
Almost like Method 3, Tie a piece of unwaxed floss around your loose tooth and just pull! It will be painful, but it works!

Why does wisdom teeth removal not hurt for some people? Does wisdom teeth removal have to hurt? How do I make the experience as painless as possible?

The reaction of individuals to third molar surgery varies greatly. Some people are sure it will hurt, know it will be painful and their “premonition” comes true. In fact, they make it happen. The removal of the third molars does not have to hurt. Nitrous oxide, laughing gas, can be used to begin the appointment. It is relaxing and it will raise the pain threshold so what normally hurts will not hurt. There are a variety of anesthetics today that can creat a pain free experience. Once the nerve is numb, there should be no pain.In cases where an individual is extremely apprehensive, premedication can be used. Conscious sedation is a step beyond that and general anesthesia is a last resort. There are some things that can be construed as pain. They are noise and pressure. It is important that the patient distinguish between pressure and pain. There will be pressure on the surrounding tissues. Pressure is not pain. Noise is enviable. The jaw joints are close to the ear bones and noise travels directly to the ears. Noise is not pain.If the patient approaches third molar removal with a positive attitude, uses nitrous oxide, receives adequate anesthetics and understands about noise and pressure, the experience should be pain free.
