With A Dyno Tune Will I Only Gain Hp That My Aftermarket Parts Give

Will removing the baffles from my Yamaha MT-01's silencers give me a performance gain or just increase noise?

it cant give you a performance raise if you dont properly 'dyno' the PC. however it will be loud regardless if you have the proper settings or not. you have a nice amount of mods there you should really get a good map or it or have a custom map made to get the most optimal power delivery.

How much hp will I gain after tune 350z?

I have a 2003 350z with 1/2 inch plenum spacer test pipes intake and exhaust im getting it tuned tomorrow how much hp will I gain doesn't have to be exact someone just give me a estimated guess thanks!

What are the pros and cons of changing the stock air filter in my bike? Will it also improve the fuel efficiency?

Most bikes come from the factory on the lean side.  Meaning, the manufacturers dial back the bike's use of fuel.  Some of this is for fuel economy, but mostly it's to meet emissions and sound regulations. The basic premise of an engine is to bring in air & fuel, burn it, then spew out the exhaust.  This process needs to be a fine tuned system.  For instance, if you were to seriously open up your intake, your bike would probably run like crap.  What was already lean, is now leaner.  You didn't also increase fuel.Let's say you opened up your intake AND fuel, it would still run like crap because the stock exhaust couldn't handle the increase from the pre-burn side.Bottom line is, if you're looking for a performance increase, you will need to touch all points.  More air, more fuel, free flowing exhaust.  And only as much as the cylinder can handle.  As another mentioned, this will increase sound and emissions, in addition to power.  The manufacturers made a trade off, you will need to as well. Now ... a K&N, despite the marketing hype, isn't going to do much power wise.  You'd need a dyno to see the slight uptick.  And it isn't going to let in so much more air that the balance of air/fuel will be noticeably affected.  So, what's the pro?  Well, they're re-usable.  Clean 'em, oil 'em, stick 'em back in.  You won't be throwing away filters any more.  If you're riding offroad, they will flow better, even with dirt and dust.  And they're easy to clean on trail side.Another pro is that you will hear a slight increase in sound (if that's your thing), but it won't be that noticeable.  Carb'ed engines may make a whistling sound with more air flowing.  FE engines might be just a tad louder from the air flow.  But it won't be anything you'd beat your chest over.Personally, I've had them.  Liked them.  Not sure the cost is worth it.  On my KLR, I have the stock foam filter, which is also cleanable.  So going the K&N route isn't really necessary.  And there aren't any more ponies to be had from the engine, so I'm not even thinking of searching for increased performance.HTH

I want to Dyno tune my 350z, What do I need to do it?

first of all the two parts you mentioned at best will give to at best 3-6 hp gain....the TB spacer is a no gain, the computer will reset after 50-100 miles and if you mean you installed a high flow air cleaner the best HP gain from that will be the 3-6hp i mentioned above\

however if you are dead set about getting dyno and wasting the 2-300 bucks to do so, call around to your local speed shops in your area and find one with a dyno...

good luck

Horsepower gained from tuning ecu?

The only way you would see 50 HP gains on a stock engine over the stock factory tune is when you are dealing with a factory turbo car. Even so, you won't see those kind of gains even out of tuning a factory turbo car without turning the boost up, as part of the exercise.

I typically see 15 HP gains on stock factory V8's without any modifications... just a simple tune. I see MPG gains as well. But... I know what I am doing. There are far more people out there who are tuners that screw things up and make them worse than there are tuners in the know. Calling a person a tuner does not mean they are good.

For your small engine, I would kiss the ground to see 10 HP out of it with a good tune.
Part of tuning is not simply looking at peak numbers at WOT, part of it is in working on the tune for the drive-ability side of it, too.

Gain more performance from a Ford Focus?

I just bought a 2000 Ford Focus SE, and I was wondering what all modifications I could do to gain a little bit more performance?

It's running the 2.0 16v DOHC engine, which I know is normally a decently powerful engine, but it seems to have less power then my old 94 Nissan Sentra that had a 1.6 DOCH in it.

I was told by a friend who is a Ford Tech at a garage that the computers in Focus's are designed for less power because it gives better fuel economy. But I would rather have a bit more power and sacrifice some fuel mileage. So far, I've only given it a tune-up, New plugs (Bosch Plat +4's Supposedly the guy at the autostore said they will give a little bit more combustion which will raise performance ever so slightly.. If anyone knows better plugs lemme know.) New wires, (Don't remember the name, but they were 8.5mm.), new fuel filter, and new oil and oil filter.

I haven't messed with the intake yet, because I know sometimes getting a better intake would increase performance. But I am not sure what to look for, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

I was told about getting a "Cat-Back" exhaust and a header for it. I did some looking around and saw some catback systems for like $600... which is a little bit more then I was expecting, but I might go that route if I get some performance out of it.

Other then that, I don't really know what else I could do. I was reading about chips that change the computer in it and boost performance but I couldn't find anything for under a grand which I was hoping I wouldn't have to pay that much. Lol.

In short if you don't want to read anything,

Suggestions on Air Intake/Filter,
Exhaust?
Is there better plugs then Bosch Plat +4s?
Any other minor things I can do for performance boost?
Possibly a "computer chip" thing?

If anyone has any suggestions, or links to sites that offer the parts you are suggesting, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
