Woke Up In The Middle Of The Night Hot And Shaky

I wake up in the middle of the night shaking and feeling sick, why?

Well i don't know where to begin, so i'll just start like this:

if i have a late dinner (since i moved to uk i eat whenever, sometimes i eat once a day, sometimes just a snack, or sometimes a lot, depends on my day, so when my family is usually all together in the evenings which doesnt happen a lot coz they all have jobs at different times of day/night we have late dinners.. uhhh sorry.. long story short) so i go to sleep with my stomach still full (i hate it) i wake up in the middle of the night from the feeling of sickness and after few seconds of being awake i start shaking! my whole body just shakes, it's like im freezing to death but im not cold, it happens randomly when ever i go to sleep feeling full. i try to stay awake for longer because i know this might happen again so i avoid it as much as i can.

i get it, i wake up because my stomach hasnt yet digested the food and that.. but when i wake up i want to be sick like throw up right on the spot. the thing is i have a fear of vomiting and i have 2 choices, to be sick or use the toilet, you know.. (uhh embarrasing) after i use the bathroom i stop shaking within seconds. it's like never happened and i sleep like a baby.

i remember the first time i had it, i was about 8, i freaked out so badly, thn it didnt happen for a long time, only when i came to UK and messed up my diet. i dont think its a big deal coz i know its because of food and my stomach is not a rock. i never gone to see a doctor coz it doesnt happen often. i just want to know why i shake while feeling sick.

and sorry it's quite long

Woke up in middle of the night with diarrhea?

The heart-burn sounds like an acute acid reflux condition.. if you Google around, you will get this scary picture in your mind that definitely will make you feel worse.. your stomach is where those strong acids and flesh eating enzymes are usually stored away from harming your own body, occasionally, the stomach entrance that is usually held closed by strong muscles and only open when you swallow a meal.. in some rare occasions, that gateway gets opened and some of that acid and enzymes goes upward, sometimes even up to your mouth producing that acidic bitter taste in the mouth.. to remedy this, try some warm milk (they are weak antiacid) sit upward for few hours, and take some antiacids (if you have some, and may need to consult physicians before you do).. why does that gateway get opened while sleep?, there are a number of reasons under the heading of 'acid reflux' you can Google about.. but most of the time, it is related with the increase of intra-abdominal pressure.. the usual advice, eat but avoid lying down on bed for an hour or two, take small but frequent meals and fluids till you feel better to eat normal meals, and avoid heavy and/or spicy meals, coffee, tea and alcohol in hours before sleep and avoid stress and over thinking before sleep.. as for the Diarrhoea part, I am not sure, Diarrhoea of certain illnesses like food poisoning and infection, can cause gastritis and acid reflux.. but from my general understanding, the body has a mechanism to protect itself, in cases like gastrointestinal infections (example typhoid) and food poisoning, the body responds to these threats by emptying our intestine and stomach from these harmful agents either by vomiting (opening the stomach gate) or by Diarrhoea.. in your case, assuming that you are having not food poisoning or infection, you could be having a reflux or gastritis, and your body perceives it as a potential threat thus opening the number 2 for Diarrhoea to empty that threat even if that threat does not exist..

Waking up in the middle of the night shivering?

It could be a number of things, even though there isn't enough information to determine what it is. If the shaking appeared without a fever, it is possible that you suffered from hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), which usually presents with tremors, sweating and anxiety, and can also lead to altered states. Drinking some orange juice or eating anything containing sugar will alleviate the symptoms.

If you had a fever with it, then you could be fighting an infection, and you may have sweated out the virus. Also, depending on your age, it could be related to hormones.

In any case, I would definitely go to see a health care practitioner to get this checked out. If it really was a severe fluctuation in blood sugar, it needs to be addressed as soon as possible. With issues regarding the adrenals and blood sugar, whether it is hypoglycemia (which is fairly rare in non-diabetics) or diabetes or pre-diabetes, it is important to get a diagnosis as soon as possible. With early detection, severe complications can be avoided, and these conditions can often be very successfully managed with diet and lifestyle changes alone without need for medications.

What causes someone to wake up in the middle of the night shivering?

Shivering is a mechanism used by a warm-blooded animal to increase their core body temperature. The muscle movements of shivering increase body temperature by expending energy. There are many reasons for shivering, most notably an impending infection and oncoming fever, low blood sugar, or a spider bite. It is best to listen to your body and follow your intuition: if you are shivering, cover up exposed body parts to retain heat, especially the head where a lot of heat is lost. Do Not try to stop shivering with medication, because this just hides the symptom and doesn't address the problem. If shivering continues, seek a doctor's advice right away. http://m.newhealthadvisor.com/Un...

Why do I wake up shaking?

I’m not a doctor of any kind but this doesn’t sound normal to me. I have witnessed others twitching while falling asleep but not shaking upon waking. Perhaps a visit to the doctor is in order asap to have your nervous system checked or whatever the doctor recommends. Good luck and keep us posted!#1 Celebrity Numerologist Michelle Arbeau

Randomly wake up at night and vomit?

This has happened 3 times within the past year. 1/3 times I puked. The other 2 times I have managed to hold it down, for I am frightened of puking. feeling fine the day before and before I go to sleep having no symptoms. Then randomly I wake up in the middle of the night (4am-8am) very hot, I can feel I am very warm, I stand under my ceiling fan to help me cool down, but I know I'm going to puke, this most recent time it happened last night, I was having a dream I had to puke and I awoke very very hot knowing I was about to puke, I stood under my fans trying to cool down then went to the bathroom trying my best to hold it down, I was shaking very violently and uncontrollably, it was like shivers in steroids, I cooled off and felt cold, then got warmer again, shivering through out all of it, I was scared because I have a fear of vomiting, my stomach also felt very full. I took pepto bismol and after a while (10-20 mins) and quite a bit of burping my stomach was calmed. It felt very weird still. But I managed to hold it down and eventually fell back asleep. My stomach has felt very weird all day today, this happened just last night. I'm not allergic to any foods I ate (I'm pretty sure) I felt fine, besides coming down with something the past couple days, not sure if its a cold flu or fever, but at work the previous 2 days I have gotten very nauseous/loopy for an hour or 2, where its kind of like laughing gas, and I'm just saying what?? To everything because for some reason everything is shocking to me. But I'm not sure if being sick has contributed to the random waking up and vomiting because the second time it happened when I actually threw up I wasn't sick. But anyways if anyone had any idea of what's going on please let me know.

Why did I wake up with shivers and feeling cold after a nightmare?

I think it might be hard to find an answer to this. I have woke up literally freezing after having nightmares. Since I didn’t know the answer I googled the question using a few different ways to word it, and got a lot of information about raising body temperatures but not lower body temperatures. However then I considered the amount of stress that a person can experience during nightmares and looked up if body temperatures could drop from stress and it can. That stress is the reason is just a guess though and not fact. so unfortunately I didn’t help. I also like another answer you got from Tammy Greggs guess. Your body temperature does indeed drop when you are sleeping. So unfortunately I didn’t help. Still at least you know you are not alone with this kind of experience.

I keep waking up in the morning weak, shaky and nauseous. What could be causing this?

I think you should try waking up after completing the sleep cycle.During the night, sleeping follows a predictable pattern, moving back and forth between deep sleep and REM sleep. Together, REM and non-REM sleep stages form a complete sleep cycle. Each cycle typically lasts about 90 minutes and repeats four to six times over the course of a night.Non-REM sleepFirst stage also known as "transitional sleep" – it lasts for about five minutes. Your eyes move slowly under the eyelids, muscle activity slows down, and you are easily awakened.Second stage also known as "light sleep" – This is the first stage of true sleep, lasting from 10 to 25 minutes. Your eye movement stops, heart rate slows, and body temperature decreases.Third stage also known as "deep sleep" – in this stage it's difficult to awaken, and if you forcibly wake up, you do not adjust immediately and often feel groggy and disoriented for several minutes. In this deepest stage of sleep, your brain waves are extremely slow. Blood flow is directed away from your brain and towards your muscles, restoring physical energy.REM sleepREM sleep (this is where dreams occur) – time to get there is approximately 70 to 90 minutes after falling asleep. Your eyes move rapidly, your breathing shallows, and your heart rate and blood pressure increase. During this stage, your arm and leg muscles are paralyzed.go to sleep and wake up feeling energized and refreshedSo go to this website and calculate the time for waking up and try to wake up in the recommended time without breaking the sleep cycle and then see whether you are feeling sleepy or not

Uncontrolable Shivering ( Teeth Chattering ) at Night?

I've been having this for years. Out of the blue at nights, I can shiver for minutes,my teeth chattering, my bones hurt cos I have to fight with the cold. Esp.when I wake up in the middle of the night,go to the bathroom. Seems like the air goes through my skin will make me shiver easily.
My Mom has the same thing, too.I witnessed her shivered one day,and we're busy making her warm, thick blankets, filled some bottles with hot water. Now I have it, and just now, I heard my youngest sister is having it. She can't stand it, she's on the way home to my parents house now,so my Mom can take cake of her.

Don't tell me it's cold of flu. None of us were sick when we experience this weird thing. My Mom is 64, I'm 33, my sister is 26 yo. My mom and I have been having this for years now.

So, winter is the worst season for me whose got this kind of problem. I even can shiver easily when I walk out from home to the car,as long as the wind blows and I feel it's cold.

Anybody knows what is it called? I am so desperate to know what causes it. Thank you
