Wordpress And Html5 Gurus Need Your Help

How long does it take to be a WordPress developer? What are the steps?

It's true many "WordPress" developers only know how-to do basic WordPress administration stuff like install plugins and themes; and some use specific themes they know and easily change the colours - and call themselves "designers".I don't think it's a requirement that a WordPress developer need to know about DNS and server administration, as that is not directly related to WordPress development. The key term being WordPress. Although, someone who is knowledgeable of websites should know.Core requirements in my opinion are:1. Understanding of websites.2. Advanced in HTML and CSS, and basic to intermediate in JavaScript3. Solid PHP skills4. Expert in WordPress administration and the WordPress core5. Experience in building themes and plugins (from scratch and contributing to already made ones)For #4, you wouldn't believe how many WordPress developers don't know the basics of WordPress. I've even seen one call himself "a coding and technical genius," but didn't know how-to change the feed to show summaries and customizes the colours of already made themes. These maybe core requirements depending on the job and probably would be greatly beneficial to the developer:1. Domain names and DNS2. Solid Photoshop skills3. Responsive web design skills (no WordPress plugin/s)Nice to have skills:1. Server administration2. Experience with cPanel and Plesk3. SEO4. Performance optimizationSEO is a skill set in and of itself, and where companies hire experts, so a must have is not necessary but again would be of great benefit to a lot of businesses. Plus not every WordPress website requires SEO.At the end of it, if you can't build a website without WordPress, that is not a good thing. You should be will versed in website design and webmaster/web administration skills. You should also not be dependant on a certain framework to build a theme. I'm regularly seeing individuals now stating "X Developer," where X is the WordPress theme framework. So, how long does it take to be a WordPress developer? For some people, instantly but to be a good/great WordPress developer, after you meet core requirements I listed. To be a good/great website developer, years of experience. I don't think you can put a time-frame on it.Final words: Learn website design/development before you start WordPress designing/developing.

Should I start web development with WordPress or HTML+CSS+PHP?

Considering that WordPress powers roughly 1 in 3 websites, I'm surprised by the amount of people who are naysayers. My first real website was built on WordPress. I had no understanding of php and knew just enough html + css to make what I had in mind appear on screen. I could build flat templates with html, but the life that comes with having a backend like a database of products or an API to provide access to the data was beyond my reach. Enter WordPress. To do the basic, the API is ridiculously simple. Calls like get_title, get_template and get_author abstract away database queries and focus on you learning how to template while being introduced to while (and other) loops. When I outgrew WordPress' overhead code for interacting with a database, I still leaned on it as a quick client-friendly database management tool with tons of plugins that reduce required development. All this is to say WordPress is web development. You'll learn html, css and php. In addition you'll learn JavaScript. Probably jQuery at first, but sooner or later you'll touch JavaScript working with WordPress. Keep digging long enough and you'll discover backbone in the admin backend, which will lead you to node.js, npm and other related technologies. When you go down the WordPress rabbit hole, you're on the right track when it comes to web development.

How can I convert a HTML5 template to WordPress templates?

If you've never built a WordPress theme before, download a bare-bones HTML5 theme such as Bones (Bones - The HTML5 Wordpress Starter Theme) and try to copy/paste the code from your HTML5 template into the relevant sections of the bare-bones theme files, leaving the PHP in place.Another good bare bones theme is Underscores. Near Nothing (a very simple WordPress theme) uses the XHTML doctype, but could easily be made into an HTML5 starter template too. When you get stuck, read the official Theme Development guide.

Is it possible to make quality wordpress websites without knowing code, like HTML CSS PHP?

Definitely. Many hosting providers offer 1-click installs for WordPress. Once you get that done, you can pick from a multitude of pre-built themes and plugins, most of which require no coding knowledge. From there on it's just a matter of filling in the content. If you're fine with the theme as is, then you'll not need to touch a single line of code. The only difficult part would come if you want/need to customize the site to specific requirements. At that point your best bet would be to hire someone specializing in WP development to assist in your endeavors (though from experience, most hate working with pre-built themes and much prefer to build their own from scratch).

What's the difference between WordPress websites and normal website?

Wordpress websites have a very good UI each having a basic CMS(Content Management System) that helps everyone to make their websites according to their need. But most of the normal websites don’t have any CMS and they are uploaded every time even when their is a minor change. You can build your own CMS But It takes a very long time to build one as wordpress. Now you may be thinking of choosing a wordpress site rather than to build one by yourself. But their are many negative sides of using wordpress. As wordpress uses a very interactive CMS so it provides you a drag and drop facility by which you can easily make any changes in that portion. But the changes are limited i.e you can change anything that you want if it is present in the theme you choose. If you make a website by yourself then it may take a long time to complete that but you will learn many things from that. Now a days HTML5, ,CSS3 and Javascript is mostly used for making frontend or even backend(Node.js) for the websites. If you want to be a good developer then I will suggest you that you must make a website yourself rather then using wordpress pre build themes. But if you want to make a blogging site or something that doesn’t require any important data to be uploaded by the users then you can choose wordpress. If you build a website yourself then you can add the required functionality without compromising in the design part.I hope it will help you..

Is it safe to use themes from Themes24x7 and WPlocker?

Getting hacked is the only risk using themes from GFX and Nulled websites. There is a 99.99% chance that there is a backdoor on themes/plugins downloaded from there. The easier way to make sure you are getting genuine assets, always as for the theme/plugin license :) That can’t be faked in anyway ;)I would do the following if I were you:Reach out to the sellers and ask for a refundNo matter what is their response, reach out to Guru’s support service and make a formal complaintYou got fooled, so, complaining to the marketplace is the least you can do to prevent others from being fooled too :)Second thing:I would do a scan, and eventually fix any backdoor or vulnerabilities. Wordfence is great at that.Third step:I would strengthen the security on my website. And that involves changing admins logins/password, and you database user/password.The last step:Once you are sure that everything is fully secured, buy a license for the theme and use it legally :)Good luck!/*Was this helpful?Stop by my blog! There are some interesting articles about WordPress, SEO, web marketing, web hosting, and anything in between.Or buy me a coffee :)*/

What is the best way to create and publish a website?

That Is completely subjective depending on what you are looking for. There is a rule to design.“Cheap, Fast, & Good… you only get two.”If you want cheap and fast you can use something like a free website builder or WordPress with a theme, but it won’t have the quality until you actually learn html5.If you want cheap and good, you can hire a local college student in a web design program though you run the issue of not being to update it yourself. If you want fast and good, hire a professional. Warrior forum has some good designers that can churn out some amazing sites.Things like wix claim to offer all three, but it will look like a wix site and unless you pay for upgrade will not use your domain. There are also options like Shopify for business shops, but the fees add up there as well once you realize your site will never be found online without a ridiculous amount of advertising as well as their 40 per month plus each app add in’s individual cost.If you want the best long term option, however it is a very slow option… and it is to learn web design (html5 coding) web development (JavaScript, php, etc) and SEO (google my business, hypertags, etc) Get a simple shared host such as blue host or dream host and sandbox till you understand how to do it yourself. This allows you to make the modifications you need without paying someone else for modifications. Design the way you like it as no one can complete your vision like you can because they can’t read your mind. That all being said, if you really want it to be good and fast, hire a team from guru or warrior forum and ask to see portfolio pieces.
