Worked At Mcdonalds For Almost A Year

Can a 14 year old work at mcdonalds?

Yes, but they can't do as much as other workers. You can only work the register or the drive thru, you can't even put the french fries into the hot grease hahaha. You'll get paid crap wages and you'll be dead tired all the time, but the good thing is they can't make you work past 9, and there are very strict rules about when they can make you work during the school year. It's probably the only job you can get at that age, besides babysitting (which, honestly, pays better, but you don't have the consistent wages that McD's offers).

I worked at McDonalds for a year. For a McD, it was a pretty good work experience. I had great managers that worked around my schedule -for the most part. They also would bad mouth b****y customors when they left...which was comforting after getting a verbal tongue lashing from whomever happened to have better things to do than be nice to another human...ie, the customers. Yes, people treat you like s*** as a McD employee, no matter how well you do your job. I would never work there as an adult if I could possibly avoid it in any way possible, but honestly it's like the perfect job for a highschooler, because there's so little they can make you do. I worked there when I was 16, I never had to go into the back grill area, the most I was allowed to do was the french fries/hash browns. And because I couldn't work past 9, I was still able to have a life. Overall I could have had a worse first job...

Should i work at target or mcdonalds?

The first comment is not true ...mcdonalds is a good easy job to put on your resume as experience
okay i will say go to both interviews
because an interview does not gurantee the job
Then once you get them both
i would suggest target because it's a nicer place to work(worked there for almost a year)
and mcdonalds as last resort( was my first job)
because it hard to find a job these days
Goodluck.

What's it like working at McDonalds ?

I am 14 year old girl (almost 15) and i have pretty bad social anxiety but my mum is forcing me to get a job. Don't get me wrong i'd love to get a job and work but i'm scared and anyone with anxiety will tell you how hard it is when your mind is just full of fear.

I am mainly scared of taking orders and not being able to understand them or not being able to use the machine. I just want to know how hard working there is and is it easy to work the machines?

Is working at McDonald's a good job to start off with at 16 years old?

"Curious" has covered it pretty well.......

the key is to be realistic about what you can work and communicate with your employer. McDonald's will teach you job-skills that transfer well to all careers.

over 55% of all employees in the US worked in fast-food at some point in their youth and almost 30% of the CEO's of the Fortune 500 worked at McDonald's as their first job.

Is working at mcdonalds embarrassing ?

Do your friends work? Where do they work? Do they have money or are they freeloading off their parents? You're 16, it's about time to start earning your keep and stop worrying about what everyone else thinks. A job is a job, you're not there to look cool, you're there to make money... for you, to lighten the load on your parents, buy your own clothes, go out on a date, go to movies, whatever the reason, it's for you, not them.

Losing weight while working at McDonald's?

I've been working at McDonald's for almost a year now, which means I've been eating a lot more of it recently. Eating it more means I've been gaining a little bit of weight. I decided I'm sick of it, but it's hard to find something I can eat on my breaks that 1. I can stand eating 2. isn't full of fat and calories. In June last year, I had to have my gallbladder removed, so I'm really sensitive to fat and the diet I had to follow for weeks following up to my surgery was torture, so I find it really hard to eat salads since that's all I could really eat. How can I eat healthy while working at McDonald's? I also have a huge problem with stress eating and cravings. As a full time student, I have a lot of stress right now.
