Working Abroad Anyone

Is there anyone here who is working as assistant at MEA abroad? What are your experiences?

In my experience, I have seen MEA people abroad are mostly very compassionate and helpful so you can approach anybody from the Indian missions in any foreign country to have first hand feedback about it rather than seeking someone here who may not be real. Go to the website of Indian mission in your preferred countries and get their e-mail IDs and ask. The approach should be in a very polite and assistance seeking manner.

Is there anyone working abroad after AMIE?

At first you should know about A.M.I.E.(Equivalent to B.E.) this degree is awarded to those who pass the Section A and Section B Exam conducted by The institution of engineers (India ) kolkata , W.B. After getting such degree many alumni in the last 98 years every where working either in the country or at abroad or achieving higher studies. there is no any boundation to go any where .Many students are doing their profession as a professional engineer or chartered Engineer.

Is workingabroad.com legit? and has anyone else completed the 'teach in rural thailand' programme?

Yes and no. I glanced the site, and get the serious impression this is a 'left wing feel good holiday program'. Kind of soft adventure for people who feel committed towards baby seals, tree hugging and solving (personally, of course) the needs of the poor.

Usually these programs are semi-legit. Not quite illegal. Though they would be the first to nail a commercial company on the scaffold if it would do half the things they get away with.

To work in Thailand, no matter what, you need a workpermit and a non immigrant 'B' visa. There is no exception.

You have to apply for this non imm B on your local embassy. The company must fax a letter to the embassy in which they guarantee your employment.

As soon as you arrive n Bangkok, you should go (in person) to the labor office to get a workpermit. You have a maximum of three months to get this workpermit. You cannot work without a permit beforehand.

Check this out. Make absolutely sure, in writing (!) you get a workpermit upon arrival. A legitimate company will not have any problem issuing such a letter. This company almost certainly will. Which means they do not work according the rules.

I'm almost certain this company will ask you to travel on a tourist visa (valid for just 30 days). "They will fix everything in Bangkok." If you believe that, you might be interested to buy the Rama VII bridge, which I just happen to have for sale.

Anyone ever taught English abroad?

Hi,

I've taught abroad before yes - in China - had an awesome time! It's a great way to experience life in another culture, and really helped me in terms of independence, confidence and leadership skills.

In order to teach abroad, you'll first need to do a TEFL course, then it's a case of researching where you want to teach and finding a job. There's a good guide here: http://www.tefl-chalkboard.com/i-to-i/po... Generally most TEFL jobs are concentrated in South East Asia and South America.

One option you might want to consider if you've never been abroad before is a paid teaching internship program like this one http://www.onlinetefl.com/teaching-inter... where you get a lot of extra support while you're abroad, just in case anything goes wrong.

In terms of whether you should do it before or after grad school, that's totally up to you - from what I can gather from your post you sound kind of fed up with the US and could do with a break. Why not teach abroad for a year, then go back to do grad school - that way you'll be started grad school totally refreshed and ready to plunge into occupational therapy!

Good luck with whatever you decide!

Volunteering and Working Abroad Help Please?

Hi!

Im interested in traveling somewhere this coming summer to work or to volunteer, but I'm wondering if you have any experience with this?

I know this is probably unrealistic, but I'm from Canada, and I'm not specific at all where I want to travel, as long as it's not to the states (been there too much), but I want to go as cost efficient as possible.

Are there any groups or places that are reputable and and send people for free (as long as you pay for your plane, they organize the rest)? Im not specific on what I do overseas either.

I would like to go using as little money as possible, but still have a good experience! Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Has anyone ever interned abroad with Leave Ur Mark?

Yeah
