Worried Of Losing My Ssd In My Cdr Review

What are the main reasons some people lose their SSDI benefits after a Continuing Disability Review?

What are the main reasons some people lose their SSDI benefits after a Continuing Disability Review? They no longer have a medical disability that would prevent them from seeking gainful employment. There are other reasons, in addition to medical improvement, in which people can lose benefits or have them reduced that we will not cover here. Examples include benefit overpayments or not meeting the resource and income requirements for SSI benefits ...How often you receive a CDR depends on how likely SSA thinks it is that your medical condition will improve. If medical improvement is expected, SSA will review the claim in six to 18 months; if medical improvement is possible, SSA will review the claim every three years; if medical improvement is not expected, SSA will review the claim every five to seven years. Also, some events can trigger a CDR. Examples include the completion of a vocational rehabilitation program, an SSI child’s 18th birthday, when a baby turns one year old, and sometimes work-related income within the first 24 months of entitlement to SSD ...What do I do if I get a CDR notice?Don’t worry. SSD: I mailed in my Continuing Disability Review and received another packet, what's this mean?

SSA has two forms for CDR's. a short form, and a long form. Most get the short form. What happened is you answered a question wrong, or put in an extra comment under "remarks". or did something that caused the automatic reader to kick it out for human review.

No it doesn't mean you will lose benefits. The thing is, when you first apply for disability, the burden of proof is on you to prove you are disabled, under their rules. So you want to offer as much information as possible, extra information that helps you prove your case, and answer all questions as thoroughly as possible.

Once you are approved and receive benefits, the burden of proof shifts to them to prove you are no longer disabled under their rules. So you never want to answer with long responses, never offer information or say anything that isn't asked, keep the answers simple, and direct.

Just give them the names and addresses of anyone you worked for over the past 15 years as they asked, any new developments in your anxiety, without going into a whole lot of detail. And be consistent. The one thing all government agencies look for is consistency in your answers.

Unless yo worked after receiving benefits and didn't report it, or your Doctor stated your main disability condition has improved. you have nothing to worry about. The fact your CDR was 6 years, means your condition was not expected to improve (5-7 year review). And again, the burden of proof is on them to prove you are no longer disabled. That makes a HUGE difference.

Ex owes 20,000 in child support will ssi erase his arrears?

My ex husband is filing for ssi or ssdi, im not sure which one, i understand his current support will no longer exsist while he is on and that I will get a portion for kids. My question is what happens to the 20,000 he owes in arrears. He is only filing ssi(pretending to be bipolar which he has fooled all the doctors and he has gone to extremes for a over a year) to get a lump sum of money for himself and he told me he will no longer owe me current or BACK child support. He said he will stay on for a year or so just enough to get his "stuff" together. Pay his bills get his liscense back( that child efforcement took away), buy a car, wipe away the back and current child support, etc.

Can you report fraud to social securtiy?
How can this be fair? If he goes on ssi for a short time and they wipe out his arrears and then he gets a great job, wins the lottery or whatever and has no obligation to his child support arrears????? This just doesnt seem right.
