Worst Republican President

Who was the Worst Republican President and Who was the Worst Democratic President?

Warren G. Harding is probably the worst Republican. His administration was thoroughly corrupt.

Jimmy Carter is clearly the worst Democrat. He created the need for the term "stagflation", destroyed the morale of the country with his "malaise" talk, decimated the military, blurted out the existence of the Stealth Bomber program to the Soviets, single-handedly created the Islamist menace that lasts to this day by turning a strong ally ( the Shah of Iran ) into the Mullahs of Iran, an enemy that ( together with Hezbollah, Hamas) threatens us today. His efforts at energy independence ( the "moral equivalent of war" ) were pathetic consisting only of him wearing a cardigan and wasting money on an abortive Synfuel program that he didn't follow through on. The seeds of much that is wrong with our world today were planted during the Carter regime. Also, after the Iranians took hostages, kept them for 444 days and Carter could only mount a failed rescue attempt in the desert, the U.S. wasn't taken seriously until Reagan bankrupted the USSR with a defense buildup. Even so, the US wasn't taken seriously by third-world countries again since we proved impotent in the face of a casus belli by a third-world country through failure of Carter's will.

Who was the worst republican president?

For Republicans I’d say it’s Warren G Harding. He was quite popular in his tenure but almost as soon as he left office his administration was exposed for multiple scandals. The worst being Teapot Dome. Essentially the government got fleeced by his extended circle.Herbert Hoover gets a bad rap for not being responsive enough in the early days of the Great Depression. I think that’s unfair. FDR had to threaten to stack the Courts and used the Bully Pulpit to blow out Congress to get anything done early on. Hoover wasn’t forceful enough to get the ball rolling fast, some of the New Deal stuff were actually Hoover’s projects.Dubya had a bad run. Once some time has distanced us enough for an actual evaluation he will very likely get beat up by academics. The Current guy doesn’t count until his service is done and we can realistically analyze his Presidency.

Why did the Republicans label Obama the worst president?

Every speech he made was either overly simplistic unintelligible or an outright lie. The fact that all of Obama's Whitehouse staff never held a real job was terrifying. I heard him say in his speeches roads infrastructure police fire. Well after the fact i look at places like flint Michigan and i see streets in severe disrepair. Also over Obama's two administrations the black lives matter group was supposed to bring black people up from poverty. Can you name one black person that has risen up from poverty to a position of political power anywhere across the USA??

Who was the Worst Republican President and Who was the Worst Democratic President?

In my lifetime I think Nixon was the worst Republican President, even though he made some pretty significant contributions to the country his presidency was corrupt. He had basically given the thumbs up for the Watergate break in and it's pretty much been proven that all but 18 deleted minutes taped can lead one to believing he was using the office of presidency to illegally benefit his candidacy. As for the Democrats, the jury is still out, while Carter was horrible at moving our economy forward, and in part responsible for double digit inflation, horrible interest rates along with unusually high prices and gas lines at the pump, probably a result of his terrible foreign policy tactics. The reason the jury is still out is Obama. If the current president doesn't preside over a super robust economy very soon it's going to look as if he campaigned for national health care while ignoring the financial health of the nation. One year of hard core campaigning by the him and the Democratic party for national health care while the nation was and still is dying economically. Although I consider these three some of the worst I'm sure there must have been others who committed ignorant mistakes (or on purpose), that would make them appear to be the worst but I got to go with what I witnessed, hear on the history channel and the news.

Who was the worst Democratic President?

George W Bush. Oh, wait a minute. He wasn't a democrat. He just acted like one just like his poppa! Wait a minute. Check that he spent more than your average tax and spend liberal democrat ever did on their worst spending spree. He enlarged government way more than any democrat ever dared to dream. Actually I guess I was right in the first place. The worst democratic president is George W. Bush!!

Worst democrat and worst republican presidents in US history?

Jimmy Carter. He let the American Hostages languish in Iranian prisons for 444 days without raising a finger to help them. Clearly the worst president of the modern era and arguably the worst of all time.

Abe Lincoln. He decimated the Southern states at the behest of the Northern industrialists and eliminated the labor force used in the South by claiming the indentured servants were slaves.

Best/Worst of Both Sides: Democrats/Republicans?

Best Democratic President: Franklin D. Roosevelt
Worst Democratic President: James Buchanan

Best Republican President: Abraham Lincoln
Worst Republican President: George W. Bush

I think the bests will probably be easily agreed upon, the worsts are more debatable though.

Who was the first Republican president of America? What was his contribution in history?

Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican president. His contribution to American history is pretty well known. Before Lincoln, our current Democratic and Republican parties were united as one party, the Democratic Republicans. They were the liberal party opposing the Whigs, who were the conservatives. But the Democratic Republicans split over the issue of slavery. The Democrats became the pro-slavery party of the south and the Republicans became the abolitionist party of the north. For many years after the Civil War, the freed former slaves and their descendents voted overwhelmingly Republican because it was "the party of Lincoln," a phrase you'll sometimes still hear. That began to change in the 1930's when northern Democrats, such as Roosevelt and Truman began to integrate the armed forces and other government services. Black voters increasingly supported the Democrats through the 1960's with the Kennedy and Johnson administrations and their support of the Civil Rights Act and the War on Poverty. Throughout all of this, southern Democrats were furious that they had lost control of the party to the more populous northern states. Richard Nixon consciously exploited their anger with his "southern strategy," in which he explicitly used racism as a tool, telling southern whites that the Democratic party had become the party of northern liberals and blacks and that the Republican Party represented the interests of white people. It worked. White southerners who had never voted Republican overwhelmingly voted for Nixon and he won the presidency. Many never voted Democratic again. Black people also heard Nixon's message and most who still voted Republican because it was "the party of Lincoln" became Democrats, leaving us where we are now.

Which of these GOP presidents is/was the worst?

Eisenhower ended the Korean War, built the highway system, Nixon ended the Vietnam war, Ford was in office for 2 years, not enough time to do anything, Reagan was terrific, GHW Bush upheld international law and the integrity of the UN by pushing Saddam out of Kuwait, GW Bush turned around the Clinton recession but was unable to stop the mortgage crises which left wing policies ushered in, Trump turned around the failing Obama economy in 15 months.... So what are you whining about?
