Would A Bunch Of Vicodin Numb The Pain Of Wrist-slitting

Do you feel a lot of pain when cutting your wrist?

No, I don't feel a lot of pain since my mental state is far more painful. But if you cut the wrist of a normal person they will immediately react and feel pain but if you try to cut the wrist of those who have depression or some other mentally ill person, they will react differently, some will just look at you and say ‘what are you doing’ or ‘why did you cut my wrist’, their respond will be completely different. I don’t really know how to answer this question actually since it differs from person to person. Some said that it felt good when they cut their wrist, some said it hurts but kept doing it to forget about everything. It’s complicated so i don’t have an answer.Well in short : some said it feels good, some said it hurts but kept on doing it and some just want to do it because they're curious.I used to cut my wrist a lot and I feel nothing, it's boring. I've found another hobby that's 100% more interesting but it seems that I can't say it here.

Would you not feel the pain on cutting your wrists if you take painkillers?

The painkiller wouldn’t help you much, so sure you’ll still feel the pain, the skin is sensitive. Most people slashing their wrists don’t know how/where/how deep to cut, so will have a few cuts in their skin, many cut through a few important tendons, a big problem later on, but not bleed to death. That usually only happens in totally unrealistic tv soaps.Better seek help now, see/contact friends/family/your doc/any healthcare provider, cutting has never solved any problem. All the best!

Would Vicodin and aspirin make slitting wrists less painful?

As a physician, I avoid answering questions that ignore huge dangerous issues. If suicidal thoughts are an issue, get help immediately. Dial 911!And I hesitate to answer because you probably know the answer if you stop and think about the situation. All pain medications you swallow get into your bloodstream and then your nerves and brain and reduce the feelings of pain by reducing the signals from the nerve endings receiving the painful stimuli to the pain centers in the brain.Cutting skin always causes pain. Strong pain pills always reduce the perception of pain in the brain.

When slitting your wrist to die what hurts more, cutting the skin or the artery?

My story.Never made it to the arteries, hurts before and I couldn’t even find the damn things…But here’s what I came to say: I did get deep enough to damage nerves though, so now my left hand is partly numn and feels nasty. And I was locked up in a psych ward for a whole month. And got big-ass scars with 35 stitches from my wrists up to 20 and 30 cm along the arms. Next summer should be interesting, to see how my bpd brain deals with this.Edit.This was meant as a warning example. Don’t cut your wrists.

What does arthritis feel like?

Arthritis is the name used for over 100 different conditions.

Being a 20 year old, it's unlikely you have any form of arthritis, but if you do, it'd be a form of autoimmune arthritis. This is caused by your immune system attacking itself. You'd experience systemic features like fatigue, fever and rashes. The joints would be symmetrically affected

The most common form of arthritis is osteoarthritis, but it's extremely rare for anyone under 50 to have this form of arthritis. It's caused by wear and tear which generally happens as we age.

Arthritis is more than just pain, you'd expect to experience swelling and stiffness in the mornings.

What you're describing doesn't sound like arthritis, it sounds more like Carpal Tunnel or a pinched nerve. If it happens again, you should speak to your doctor.

Having numbness in hand after shoulder surgery?

Cat Lady, it sounds as if there is pressure on the Ulnar nerve. This can be coming from one of two places. The first is the least likely as there has been too much time between the surgery and the present. This would be from the anesthesia being given in the upper trapezius area. This type of nerve block is called a Bear Block and it numbs up the shoulder down into the fingers. It can sometimes cause pain as well as numbness. Since you have not been complaining of this before I doubt this is the problem. The other more likely case is that because of the surgery you are keeping your arm in a position that is putting pressure on the elbow on the inside portion. This will put pressure on the Ulnar nerve thus giving you symptoms of numbness down the forearm into the last two fingers. The last possibility is that you are somehow placing a lot of stress or pressure on the neck in the lower portion, C6-7, which is giving you this problem. Make sure that your posture is correct as much of the time as possible. If you are still using a sling make sure that it is padded across the upper trapezius area. I don't understand that you called your orthopedist and he or she told you to call your doctor on Monday. Is the doctor that is away the orthopedist that did the last surgery? If not then the orthopedist that did it should be available to you for this problem. At this point you should be in physical therapy. Talk to them about this and see what they have to say. A call from them to your doctor may have more impact than just you calling. Even if you are not in therapy any longer ask them to take a look at it and give you a recommendation as to what to do.
