Can girls and guys hang out alone as JUST friends?
So I have been talking to an old friend from high school recently, who has a girlfriend btw, and he has asked me twice to hang out with him. Alone. (He wanted to come by my house the other day and smoke a stogie with me) I have no idea if he's intentions are friendly or if he's up to something. He claims he loves his gf all over the social networks but he wants to hang out with an old high school friend, alone, sounds kinda iffy to me but I don't know. I need some input. Guys, do you ever just want to hang out with a friend (attractive) just as FRIENDS?

Now, this guy friend of mine is a really good friend because we have fun conversations, we both know about each others lives very deeply, and yeah. Why would a guy friend ask a girl to hang out with him alone?
It is possible that the guy has no interest in a girl but just want to hang out. Then why not hang out with his other guy friends? For me as a girl, I don't want to hang out with a guy alone if I am not interested in him. Instead, I will hang out with a group of friends. Would a guy ever think of hanging out with a girl alone just for friends?

that depends on the girl’s background. in Indonesia, I have a lot of girl friends from different ethnic groups and religions. For muslim women, I usually friendzone them from the start since I have no interest to date them, but prefer to maintain a platonic friendship.Similarly, if the girls are chinese but they are not interesting enough, I will ask them to “hang out with my buddies”. just to ensure they know I am not interested on dating them.and when a girl asked if “can we be friends first” I will treat them normally like how I treat any other friends, I may end up on her friendzone list, but who cares? at least I don’t sugarcoat my social behavior for her sake. :)

when a girl asks me to hang out its just a friendly get together, now depending on how the hangout goes i might take it as some sort of informal date if that makes sense, you guys are just keeping it friendly but at the same time taking the time to get to know each other a little better like you would on a real date, anyways this is just my point of view all guys view things differently but i wouldnt take a hang out as anything too serious, either way my hang outs are usually at my place or lead to my place and lead to sex.......... any ways i got a text like that id be completely fine with it and wouldnt look into it too much... hope that helped, have fun on your hang out :D
Why do guys ask girls to hangout?
I had a girl that everyone in my school including me considered physically unattractive that was my best friend for a few years and we hung out all the time. Unless you have an obvious friendly connection and have really fun times, its probably because they are interested in a non-platonic relationship. Basically, if you are unsure, and he isn't gay, you can bank on him being interested in relationship/sex.
Why would a girl ask to hang out and then cancel?
Okay, me and this girl are friends. She's done this odd thing around 5 to 6 times where she will ask me to hang out and watch a movie at the theater, or go with her shopping for a dress and then she'll either cancel, make up some excuse to blow me off, or just drop the event like she forgot or lost interest, despite her asking me. She seems nice and we get along pretty good, so why does she do this? Is she scared of being out alone with me or what? It's just hanging out, so what's her deal?

So this girl I kind of like asked me to hang out. What does that mean? Is that like asking me out on a date or is it simply hanging out? We did set a specific day to hang out but I don't know if that means anything or not. I'm pretty sure she likes me but I don't know for sure. I'm really terrible at reading the signs. I'm in college by the way if that helps.
