Would Battle Royale Be Appropriate To Read In High School

The Hunger Games plagiarized?

I've wondered if Suzanne Collins knew about Battle Royale.
But even if she did, it is not plagiarism. Ideas cannot be copyrighted. She may have taken the idea of kids made to fight to the death or she may have just come up with the same idea on her own, but the plot, the characters and the context are entirely different.
The only similarity is the concept children fighting to the death. There's some common points in the organisation of the "battle" too. For example, the deceased's names are announced regularly to the other participants, the weapons are given out at random and there can only be one survivor.

There are also plenty of differences. In Battle Royale, it's a single class of kids, so they all know each other. While in Hunger Games, there's a draw across the country so for the most part, they don't know each other before fighting. In Battle Royale, the battle takes place over a set time and if there's more than one alive at the end of it, they're all killed. In Hunger Games, they keep fighting until there's only one left, no matter how long it takes. Hunger Games also has some traps set up in the arena, while Battle Royale doesn't. HG is a 24 hour reality TV show. BR is followed by journalists. HG were set up as a punishment against rebelling districts. BR was set up as a means to control the "unruly" youth of Japan (to simplify). While in both books, the weapons are given out by chance, in BR, every kid is given a pack before entering the arena. In HG, they are given nothing. The packs are left at the center and if they want one, they have to fight for one.
I could add plenty more.

Is Battle Royale a young adult novel, or is it just a novel?

I believe it is a short story, not a novel, but it could be classified YA because it focuses on the experiences of a just graduated high school student. The definition of YA work usually centers on the age of the protagonist more than anything else, as most YA books use the “coming of age” theme, and almost all YA books are written by adults, and so they tend to have the adult’s point of view behind the character’s point of view.

Are the games Fortnite and PUBG actually based off of the 2000 movie "Battle Royale"?

If you were not previously familiar with the term “Battle Royale” before the film, I can understand why that might cause some confusion. But the basic answer is “No.” They are not based on the movie. The term “battle royale” did not originate with the film. It just refers to a large scale man-to-man contest with several participants, generally an every-man-for-himself scenario. The name is a combination of English and French, but the straight English “battle royal” is also used for the same concept. That being said, the film has been influential in naming the basic genre of bringing several people together and forcing them to fight until only one of them survives. The games could be said to related to this concept, but they did not really arise from the film’s story. And that genre is more related to Japanese comics (manga) and film. Rather the concept of “Battle Royale games” started very recently, growing out of mods of games like ARMA and even Minecraft.Long before the film, the concept of a battle royal was popular in another entertainment genre, professional wrestling. A wrestling battle royal/battle royale is a match where multiple wrestlers (no less than 4, no more—to date—than 60) are put all in the same ring at the same time, to fight until all but one is either pinned or thrown out of the ring. Naturally, that last man standing is the winner.

If each department in a high school went to war, who would win?

If it’s with improvised weapons (hockey sticks and pads/helmets, golf clubs, baseball/softball bats, etc. from the athletic lockers, it’ll be the Athletic Department with the teams already organized, coached, and fit while the other departments would be disorganized, squabbling, and unlikely to find much of anything for improvised weapons. If there’s some lead time the metal, wood, and auto shop/trades department might win as they could make some serious edged weapons, bow & arrows-with enough time crossbows and compound bows, body armor, metal shields, flamethrowers, and mortars (and it’s likely they already know how.)The history department will come up with elaborate battle plans based on Hannibal at Cannae or Shaka Zulu’s “horns of the bull” but be too out of shape and argumentative to actually execute anything but a rout.Biology will come up with liquids and sprays that are too difficult to use as weapons but still have some significant ambushes executed including using the lab animals. Raising their adrenaline levels briefly for greater strength is likely too.The chemistry department knows how to make poison gas, smoke bombs, black powder, nitroglycerin, blasting caps, napalm, sulphuric and other nasty acids, etc. so if they have enough time, they’re dangerous like biology but delivery methods are challenging and they’ll be light on numbers. If there’s Boy Scouts, 4-H/Future Farmers, STEM, Odyssey of the Mind teams, Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps there will be some wild cards and very competitive fighters there with more skills for outside the school building. The other departments would be confused and at a loss, other than being able to hurl insults and mean tweets until overcome by other departments or exhausting the battery power in their smartphones. Aligning with a more practical department to serve as cannon fodder/pawns/vaguely intimidating noisy mob would be about it with likely a few exceptions that study martial arts, gymnastics, hunting, archery, etc. like Katniss in Hunger Games.Apparently the faculty fight for their departments rather than the more typical faculty against students, interesting but may not be credible except for the best teachers.

What are the most violent manga you have ever read?

I haven’t read many violent Manga but if I have to answer then Mahou Shoujo of the end which I read is pretty violent. In this manga Kogami Kii is tired of his boring, normal life as a high school student. While looking out a window, he sees a little girl hit a teacher…which causes the teacher’s head to explode. He flees to the restroom to convince himself that he was just daydreaming, but upon returning to class, he finds his entire class being killed by the same little girl.I have watched some violent movie like Battle Royale their Manga version are available so you can read the story from it if you are not into movie and only want to read. The story of Battle Royale is that Every year, a class is randomly chosen to be placed in a deserted area where they are forced to kill each other in order to survive. Initially believing to be on a graduation trip, Shuuya Nanahara and the rest of Shiroiwa Junior High's Class B find that they have been chosen to participate in this game of life and death known as "The Program."Waking up to the realization that they have been quarantined on an island, the 42 students discover they have been fitted with metal collars which will detonate if certain conditions are not met. In order to obtain freedom, they must slaughter everyone else by whatever means necessary, and the last one standing is deemed the winner. As each member of the class heads down their own path, Shuuya makes it his goal to get off the island without playing the game in order to put an end to this madness once and for all.
