Would Believe Lead To Any Truth

The failure to build a truth into your life will lead you to believe in error. What does that mean?

When someone believes in a statement that is false, man-made or ridiculously illogical - all it does it waste resources. For instance consider these examples:EXAMPLE 1I have a client who spends $1,000 every week on pleasing his gods through offerings that he contributes to the priest. And if that wasn’t enough - he even spends up to 2 hours a day praying. And what does he pray for? Success. So do you think his chances of making million in business or say in the stock market have anything got to with any gods being offered gifts, money or praise?EXAMPLE 2I know of a girl who literally takes care of her ex-boyfriend EVEN THOUGH she is married to another man and has had 3 kids through him. Why does she do that? She believes in what he says “That ONE DAY he will come back to her and marry her.” And she literally gives him money, help and other personal favors behind her husbands back.EXAMPLE 3A young lad whom I bumped into through the online platforms told me how much I inspire him. And that he was planning to discontinue his education. I told him NOT to do so. However, no matter what I told him - he kept arguing with me about Mark Zuckerberg, Richard Branson, Larry Ellison - you know all those billionaires who dropped out of college to make this case strong. I just didn’t have the energy to tell him this was stupid. So do you think he is right to believe that if he drops out of college - he will become a ‘billionaire’?These examples highly the statement The failure to build a truth into your life will lead you to believe in error.”Loy Machedo

What is truth? When we believe a certain thing to be true, how true is that?

There are a bunch of questions to consider here. When it comes to any truth, is it because someone knows something to be true, or believes it because it’s what he or she has been taught? Would you believe something to be true because everyone else believes it to be true? How deep is this belief? How did it originate? Who are the people that inspired you to think and believe the way you do?What would you do when you encounter certain information that contradicts with what you hold to be core beliefs or core values? Would you rationalize, verbally lash out, or try to ignore whatever it was that you read or heard so you can stop feeling uncomfortable or bothered by it? Or, would you go the alternative route, to try to understand this information from doing a little research?Belief alone doesn’t tend to stick very well. Faith that’s not based on any fact is fiction. The larger majority aren’t able to shake off the mental chains (lies) that hold them hostage. This is the great danger that exists within many religions. How would someone know if he or she is being lied to? On their own, they might have to learn how to become a more open-minded person to find out.Truth and knowledge are inseparable from each other most of the time. Knowledge of what lies exist out there, there’s power there too, but it doesn’t seem to heal the soul as well - because there’s another factor that must follow soon after; learning from our mistakes and how not to repeat them. There are eternal truths, social truths, political truths, and economic truths. “The earth is flat.” “Women could never be able to compete with men.” “I was given the right to rule you because my visions of God showed me this is true.” - All those things in the past at some point used to be true, but our way of thinking and believing changes as we evolve as individuals. However, it’s the eternal truths that are more real than the many temporary ones out there. Some believe they can push lies and misrepresentation of truths so that everyone else can believe how they interpret reality. Although, that hasn’t proved to impact every person they tried to fool. So, they have to work in sneaky ways to dumb people down so they become more gullible and ignorant.

Do you believe that the Four Noble Truths can lead you to a Happy Life?

I believe that the cessation of attachment and craving would lead to a happy life for me. I get what you mean, though happy is a term that lots of people aren't comfortable with. Happy is relative and I know I could be happy without all the crap I have collected in my life (mental, spiritual and sociological). The Noble Eightfold Path can help get you there. Lets keep trying and with each effort we are there....which is right here, only in a peaceful loving way.

Is the truth absolute or relative?

By asking whether this statement is an absolute truth, 'All truth is relative', the answer emerges that truth can be absolute.

Particular truths appear relative without an absolute standard. Once the standard is known, the relationship of the particulars can be known and a pattern emerges.

Absolute truth has been likened to an island in a sea of chaos. For us earthlings, God is the standard; without knowledge of Him, we are lost in a sea of chaotic relativism.

We come to know God through Jesus Christ: John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me". We are also put on solid ground via His words. John 17:17 "Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth".

Is there any reason to believe that Christianity is true?

Christianity is true enough. You can rely on the evidence around you — the many followers, the leaders, the literature — to give you reason to believe it exits. But I'm guessing you're specifically referring to the Christian dogma. For that, there is no reason to believe it's true.Your state upon birth — the status quo, as it were — is no belief in Christian teaching. Any change from that status quo comes from authority figures or literature. They give you no reason to believe. In fact what they offer defies reason. It is faith. Christianity teaches you to simply have faith that it is true. Reason breaks that tenet.

Should we ever believe any truth claims that are undisprovable?

The 1up King - No, that doesn't count unfortunately.

Both cases that you mention are disprovable truth claims, not undisprovable truth claims. An undisprovable truth claim is something which cannot even in principle be disproven. For example: "Beyond the reality which we perceive, there is a cosmic sea of aether" is an example of an undisprovable truth claim, which is defined as to be always beyond our perception. My question was that is there something wrong with this kind of thinking? And are there exceptions?

William James "The Will to Believe"?

My assignment is to find a thesis and the author's argument. I am then supposed to determine whether it's valid.

Is there anyone who can offer some insight? I have read this thing twice, and all I see is page after page of unintelligible, self-indulgent garbage. Please feel free to share ANY thoughts....

What if I could tell you the truth of life itself, but I know no one would believe me anyway, would you?

Religious people believe only God knows(is) the truth.Scientists believe in scientific experiments and facts to judge the extent of truth.Atheism makes no claims about truth, morality, favorite colors, or anything else. As such, atheism does not have a particular view of truth.Spiritual people believe that soul I.e. self is the biggest example of truth.Combining all these you can say Truth is something that is absolute irrespective of place time and people. It is truth because it is absolute. In general terms we can say whatever we receive through our primary senses i.e. (Sight (vision), hearing (audition), taste (gustation), smell (olfaction), and touch (somatosensation))..if that can be justified with respect to our intellect I.e. reasoning ability then can we accept that thing as truth. Now you see obtaining truth is not an easy task .For example Despite several years of scientific pursuit we still haven't been able to understand the truth behind the universe. This famous quote from Nietzsche suggests the difference between truth and perception of truth. Many times what we know as truth is just a version of truth..our perception of truth and that's why we become uncomfortable and like to stay in denial when we actually come in contact with the truth. So it does not matter what you are telling is truth (of life or whatsoever) or not, I will accept your statement as truth only if that agrees with my reasoning capability I.e. my intellect.
