Would Doing 3 Sets Of Push Ups Chin Ups And Sit Ups Till Failure Get Me Toned

Is doing 10 sit-ups a day efficient excersise for getting a flat tummy or do I need to do more?

10 is good, but do 4 or 5 sets. plus cardio. dont be lazy...

What will happen to my body if I do 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups daily for a month?

Assuming you're beginning from no exercise, you're bound to notice some changes. Although pushups are a strength exercise, doing 100-reps of anything lends itself more to endurance, than to strength or muscle gain.Remember that muscles grow as you rest, and not as you train. By pushing through the discomfort, you are actually training your body to foster greater endurance. This means that if you're pushing yourself to failure, you'll notice the necessary gaps between sets will decrease (along with the initial soreness you experience at the beginning of the month) until you are capable of doing them in 1-2 sets.I'd follow the directions of the other Quorans and consider more effective exercises. Further, I'd recommend picking more exercises to get a whole-body workout (every second day) or exercising a different body part each day over 6 days:Monday - ChestTuesday - BackWednesday - CoreThursday - ShouldersFriday - LegsSaturday - ArmsAfter 6 days, lather, rinse and repeat. You'll be: working smarter, less sore, and more likely to maintain your routine at the end of the month by avoiding the boom and bust nature of your intended approach.

Can I gain muscle by doing only push ups? If not, what else can I do, just at home?

Of course you canPush ups directly activate your Deltoids (shoulders), triceps (the back of your arms), and your pectorals (chest). Secondarily they affect your abdominal muscles, lower back, upper back, gluteals, and all over your legs. Your secondary muscles are used to maintain the plank position that you hold throughout the push up motion.Even though you might be using your back to stabilize, I wouldn’t ever claim that you will be building muscle mass on your back by doing push ups.Push ups are weight lifting.Something many people assume is that unless you have a plate or external load that you’re not actually weight lifting. They’re willing to give a pass to pull-ups sometimes because you’re lifting more of your body weight. Push ups only use about 60% of your body weight, depending on the push up style and a few other factors.[1]Of course, these people dismiss or handwave the fact that you can change the push up style or add external weight.More over, because of the way that your whole body is engaged, push ups can be more effective at building strength that you will use in every day life.[2]But muscle mass? You don’t have to overload a muscle with a heavy load to overload a muscle. You can do reps to failure, an increasing amount of reps in order to overload them.[3]To hammer this point home, many old school boxers would train through body weight exercises alone under the misconception that lifting weights would slow your punches. Guys like Mike Tyson and Herschel Walker would build their bodies using body weight exercises. They’d do hundreds of push ups daily, along with hundreds of squats and pulls. They’re pretty muscular.Mike Tyson[4]Herschel Walker[5]Yes, push ups can stimulate your body to build muscle.Caveat 1: you must properly fuel your body to grow any muscle. It won’t happen magically. Get lots of protein, carbs, and rest.Caveat 2: you will only increase the muscle you work. To encourage balance you should work your back and legs as well.Footnotes[1] Bart Loews's answer to How much body weight is used on a push up?[2] Bart Loews's answer to Are weighted push-up as effective as bench-press for beginners to build muscle?[3] Bart Loews's answer to Can you build muscle with light weights?[4] Bart Loews's answer to What was Mike Tyson’s training regime?[5] Bart Loews's answer to With Herschel Walker in mind, is it safe to perform 750 push-ups and sit-ups daily to build a healthy body?

I don't have time go to the gym . So I just do push ups at home about 3-4 sets of 20 each. Will this be enough . How many push ups should I do in a day?

It depends what you want to achieve. You'll get good at push ups and strengthen and tone your chest muscles and triceps a bit, but that's all. If your goals extend beyond that you really need to change your workout. You don't necessarily need to go to a gym. Go out for a twenty minute run one day, do a mini circuits of dips, push ups, lunges and chin ups the next. Do some stretches or core exercises in between ad breaks when watching television. Cycling to work is one of the most time efficient cardio workouts around. Get creative with your workouts – use objects around the house to add resistance to your exercises, go to your local play park and see how many different ways you can use the equipment. And remember you have to keep pushing yourself - as soon as you can do something, increase the weight, intensity, or number of repetitions to force your body to adapt and continue to increase in fitness. Doing push ups is better than nothing, but you could achieve a lot more with a more varied workout plan, even with limited time.

Will 150 pushups a day help me get a bigger chest?

150 pushups is a great number and of course will definitely make you strong and increase your endurance. But if you are going for size, then large numbers of pushups is not the best option to take. You want a bigger chest, for that you need bigger chest muscles, and for bigger chest muscles you need to lift heavier weights. Pushups do not provide adequate resistance for your body to adapt (after a certain stage).Sure, if you do 150 pushups when you can only do 10 in one set… the gains will be superb, quick and visible quite early on.But once you reach the stage when you can do 30, 40 or even 50 pushups in one set… then 150 pushups becomes more of a cardio routine than strength training. It would hardly take 15 minutes for you to do 150 pushups. After that stage, you’ll need to switch to weight training… benchpress, weighted pushups etc to continue seeing changes because those 150 pushups fail to remain an adequate challenge to provide stimulus for your body to change.

How many situps a day must I do to see a difference in my stomach?

Ok well first don't do sit ups, you won't see a difference. Do crunches you see results faster and they work the muscles in your stomach more that regular sit ups don't. If you haven't done these before start off with 50 reps. Count up tp 25 and the back down, this is a better way of counting because you have a finish zone. Least amount would probably be 100, less won't give you results. Do these twice a day everyday until your satisfied. However these results will go away without the continuation of these muscles working.
