Would I Donate Just $10 To Do The Als Ice Bucket Challenge

What are the rules of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge? How will money get to the charity?

There aren't any "official" rules to the Ice Bucket Challenge to Strike Out ALS, but there are several steps that are more or less agreed upon on.  Here's the general consensus that seems to be rising out of the campaign:[Debated]  You must wait until you are specifically challenged by someone to participate in the "ice bucket" portion. (Though you may donate at any time).[Agreed Upon] Once you are challenged, you have 24 hours to either make a video of yourself dumping a bucket of ice water over your head OR donate $100 OR both[Agreed Upon] The video MUST include both (1) Ice and (2) a Bucket.  (Notably, people are okay with celebrities like Patrick Stewart making videos that include a bucket + ice, without the dumping  -- people are not okay with celebrities like Justin Bieber making videos that include warm water in a pan with dumping)[Agreed Upon] You must challenge additional people in your video[Debated] You should challenge exactly three people.  (Some notable videos challenge "you" - i.e., everyone who watches the video.  Some videos challenge non-people - e.g., teams or entire organizations)[Debated]  You must also donate/mention that you will donate to end ALS in your video[Debated] The donation should go to http://ALSA.org  .   (Some groups, for a variety of reasons are donating to other ALS charities which fund direct service but not research)[Agreed Upon] The video must be posted to your social network (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or/and Google+)[Debated] The video post must include the hashtags #IceBucketChallenge and #StrikeOutALSYou can see ALSA's NC chapter's suggested rules here: The ALS Association Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter and MTV's attempt to capture the crowdsourced rules here: You're Doing It Wrong: Here Are The Rules To The Ice Bucket Challenge As far as how the money actually gets to the charity -- it is the responsibility of each individual who accepts the challenge to place the donation by going to http://ALSA.org (or their local ALSA chapter website) and donating online or mailing a check.  There is no formal enforcement of this.  If a person just makes a video without also going to donate, then no money gets to the charity (for that particular challenge video, at least).

Can't we start an 'Ice Bucket Challenge' in India for a good cause like education or for any who really need financial help?

Anti-Boring LollipopYes, it is an anti boring element to bring awareness through social media in a much faster way. You may say " WHAT??? Are you mad to speak about Boredom here? Fortunately, my answer is YES.Most charity donations these days are quite boring. Usually what do the donors expect in return to these nice donations? Either fame or satisfaction! But unfortunately both of them are missing. How can charities attract new donors, reengage with current donors and  get more regular donations? Moreover, how can charities get people not  only to give money but also to give their time, skills and resources when people not only feel a squeezed wallet but also squeezed time. The answer is - By challenging the traditional fundraising. Many people started speculating that 'These people are wasting a bucket of water', 'These people are making fun', 'Itz just another western social impact'! Stop knocking! Start grasping the innovativeness. In this way we are offering real time updates and transparency to the supporters in an indirect way.We can and we may apply the same formula of Ice bucket challenge to other good causes or we may change the formula, but one should appreciate the innovative idea to raise funds in a much better/faster way. Thanks for the A2A Manoj Jaiswal!

Why do people find the ALS ice bucket challenge stupid?

In Australia we have blue for beyond blue and men cancer
Pink for breast cancer
Red nose day for Sid
yellow flowers dapalediles for cancer
Butterflies for disabilities
dragonfly for cerebral palsy

Before the ice bucket challenge they struggles to get donation now they are. Some people have been fool less in doing it by been drunk or been in water while doing it or not putting there head down. Done wrong a few have died doing it.
